Please note: I submitted this same review both on the site for the restaurant, and the hotel: This little slice of heaven in the Amalfi Coast is pure paradise! From the hotel to the restaurant, we had such a relaxing time that we never wanted to leave! We stayed here for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Our Stay: First of all, the expansive views over the Mediterranean Sea are unmatched. Our room was spacious, and had a big bathroom, and giant yellow double doors that led out onto a large private patio below with two lounge chairs, a dining set, and an umbrella. From left to right, the only thing you see is water! It''s so beautiful and blue that it's hard to tell where the water line ends and the sky begins. The fruit trees on either side of the balcony made it feel like a tropical oasis. Our room had excellent air conditioning and there was always a nice breeze coming off the water. Breakfast: Breakfast was excellent. We both eat gluten free, and they had a nice variety of gluten free rolls, cakes and cookies to enjoy, along with farm fresh hard boiled eggs, fresh squeezed juices, meats, cheeses, yogurt, granola, and other yummy breakfast items. They have a small bar with anything you could ever want, and also a nice espresso machine to make espresso, cappuccino, lattes, etc. The hazelnut latte was amazing! Restaurant: The restaurant was so good, we ate dinner here all 3 nights of our stay! We tried nearly everything on the menu, and it was all delicious. The lemon risotto with the shrimp on top is so flavorful, and the linguine with the walnuts and anchovies was such a unique and unexpected treat. The cheese platter has unique cheeses, all locally made. We loved everything we tried, but the view is really what makes dining here spectacular. Plus if you are staying here, it's so convenient and they will reserve the best table for you. I noticed the reviewer before me stated that it seemed like the staff was inattentive, however we had read in Rick Steves before we left that the waitstaff in Italy are trained to leave you alone unless you flag them down. We found that any time we flagged them, they were quick to respond, but unlike in the US, they are not going to check in on you every few minutes to ask how things are. We found it to be nice, because we weren't constantly interrupted, but yes, if you want something, you need to get their attention and speak up. Cooking Class: The staff are so friendly and eager to make your experience top-notch. We were blown away with the knowledge and generosity of the chefs. We both eat gluten-free, and they were more than happy to accommodate this and make sure everything we made was prepared in a separate area and gluten free. We learned how to make 2 different types of gluten free pasta, fresh fish caught earlier that day!, almond cookies, and sampled many other dishes. It was such a fun time, and we will never forget it. Getting Around: We took a private cab into Positano one day. It was expensive, but to us it was worth the cost to be on our own schedule rather than trying to navigate a bus. Simone at the front desk helped us book the taxi, and she also booked us a taxi for our ride back to the airport when we checked out. She even arranged for us to have a breakfast to go, since we had to leave so early. She is so helpful and kind. Be sure to ask her any questions you have about getting around! We had planned on visiting Positano, Amalfi, and Capri, but after one day of traveling to Positano, and walking around in the heat all day in the crowded swarms of people, we were so happy to return to our slice of paradise at Bacco that we stayed put the next 2 days! It's such a beautiful retreat, and you will have a whole new appreciation for it when you leave for even a few hours. We loved our stay here and hope to return some day. Thank you, Bacco!

This hotel is a real gem. We stayed only one night but wished we could stay longer. The room was large and very comfortable. The shower was fantastic and the view from the balcony amazing. Also the food at the restaurant is really delicious. The hotel is 30min bus ride from Amalfi and the bus stops right outside. This was great because we didn’t have to battle the insane traffic and hope for a miracle to find a parking spot in Amalfi. The staff at the hotel were lovely. This will be our hotel of choice next time we visit Amalfi.

All I can say about this hotel is, it's amazing, honestly. It's such a cute hotel with an amazing view, overlooking the Amalfi Coast. Where the hotel is located is quiet and peaceful. The room was spacious with comfy beds and air con and a working TV, the only thing is the bathroom is a little small and so is the shower, but that doesn't matter. Lots of variety for breakfast, and you must make sure you have dinner at the restaurant, the food is so delicious, compliments to the chef's. The view is stunning as you're having dinner as it looks over the Amalfi coast. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and a huge thank you to Simona and Domenico who helped us loads, thank you so much. The location is perfect if you have rented a car as it's about a 20 min drive to Amalfi, but if you didn't (like us) then there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which will take you down to Amalfi but ask the reception desk as sometimes you need to purchase bus tickets at the reception, there are taxi drivers that also drive down and offer to take you if they see you standing at the bus stop. All in all, the hotel is amazing and will be definitely returning (with a car this time) I would highly recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Bacco. It’s much easier getting to it from the mountain side than straight up from the Almafi Coast (lots of hairpin turns! 🙈 Once you are there, you are in heaven. Gourmet food, friendly staff and gorgeous views from just about every room. Tip: If you’re driving, be VERY cautious pulling in the drive way, one lady in our hotel hit the wall and with our car we had to do a 3-part turn to get in and out (it’s not the fault of the hotel, it’s on a cliff side).

The rooms are named, not numbered, which makes them slightly more challenging to find, particularly given the 3 dimensional hillside layout. But I recommend avoiding "Palummella" unless you rise early, as it's directly below the breakfast patio, and the daily sound of chairs scraping across the floor starts around 6:30am. Breakfast was impressive, with all the modern requirements of a healthy diet taken care of, including a blender, fresh juice options, and a super foods bar with all the grains, seeds and dried fruits you could want in your Greek yogurt. The driveway is tight, but manageable, with extra parking on the street if the diners have taken it all up. Mostly great service, but having to retrieve ice from the bar, 2 floors up, as our fridge had no ice facility, was a nightly chore before enjoying a nightcap on the balcony.
