Travelers' Choice
Striking the perfect balance of seclusion without solitude, Monastero Santa Rosa allows guests to determine the tone of their stay, whether they're looking to disappear for an intimate getaway or gather with the group and make new acquaintances. It's hard to imagine that the generous grounds, filled with four levels of gardens, lush landscaping, plentiful lounge chairs, and canopied daybeds, serve just 20 rooms and suites. Where most boutique properties might only offer in-room massages, Monastero Santa Rosa hosts a fully equipped spa to rival any major city spa, offering not just treatment rooms, but large-scale amenities that include a sauna, steam, mosaic-tiled experience shower, hydro pool, and tepidarium. Guests are welcome to feel a part of the scene at the library and bar. Engage in a game of chess or cards or read while sipping a martini in the modern cocktail area. Relax down by the pool or discover the resort's secret gardens, quiet sun decks, and indoor relaxation areas. Get the best of both worlds by making your stay as energizing or relaxed as you wish, by selecting different spaces to suit your mood at any time.

I took my wife to this hotel for her birthday in 2021 and it did not disappoint! From Michelin Star chef Cristoph Bob to the pool and room it was a sublime holiday. Worth the wait and hype. Don't doubt booking this hotel!

We couldn't have envisioned a better hotel to kick-off our honeymoon in Italy. From the views to the service, everything was perfect. Conveniently located 10 minutes from Amalfi, MSR is a great jumping off point for many of the seaside towns and a quiet oasis to retreat to in the evening. No better way to start your day than breakfast at the hotel restaurant overlooking the Tyreenaean, a truly special place. The hotel really went out of their way to ensure we had an unforgettable trip shout out to Alfonso, Francesco, and Natalie. The best hotel we stayed at in Italy over 2 weeks without question. Can't wait to go back!

The restoration of this 17th century Monastery of Dominican Sisters in early 2000s has created a unique setting that is serene, breathtaking and warm. Every corner or view is unique. The food is exquisite. The location is perfectly settled along the Amalfi Coast but not in the bustle of Amalfi Town or Positano. The 200 variety of plants and flowers are worth the stay alone. When you do decide to leave this beautiful place, a drive or walk down to the beach and restaurants creates a wonderful day excursion or the hike to the Castle above is a nice 2-3 hour trip. You can even eat at the top. We had a car which made arriving quite exciting! Most importantly soak in every aspect of this place where the staff are waiting to create an authentic experience. For a couple or as a place to bring our adult children this was a gift of a lifetime.

As a former monastery with numerous garden terraces and an infinity pool this estate is just stunning. The views over the coast are amazing and with only 20 rooms the place has a very relaxed feel. Staff is very friendly and helpful and their on demand shuttle service to Amalfi is handy. The restaurants serve a good breakfast but dinner options are on the pricy side. While this is a very luxurious stay, for a few days it is ideal to explore the Amalfi coast-we had a fantastic time!

Fabulous and peaceful retreat! Stunning views, friendly attentive staff, gorgeous terraced gardens, amazing infinity pool and spa, lovely indoor and outdoor bars and dining make this a winning combination especially if you want to get away from it all. And the views of the mountains and southern coast across the bay are outstanding.

Not only does this hotel have one of the best view on the Amalfi Coast, it is comfy and the service is second to none. The transfer service to town is much better than trying to navigate the roads by yourself.

From beginning to end our stay at Monastero was magical! The room was exactly as shown in the pictures including the incredible view of the water. The staff was courteous and also set up a Coovid test for us prior to or return stateside. The gardens and the pool were unbelievable. The was seemingly endless beautiful nooks to get lost in for hours. Even when planning day trips to the surrounding areas, it felt like a shame to leave. One large note is that the pool staff, Sabbatino in particular, made our trip once in a lifetime. His attentiveness and overall care for my wife and I was truly special and we feel lucky to have been able to meet him. If you're in their care, you're in good hands! Take me baaaack.

My husband and I traveled here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Never in our lives have we stayed at a property for so many days in a row without leaving. We love to hike and explore, but found the resort so incredible that we did never left! We'll have to come back to check out the town of Amalfi... The pool and views were breathtaking, the food was excellent, and our room was cozy and romantic.

This is hands down the best hotel we have stayed in. The level of detail that goes into this place is unbelievable. The shuttle offered to Amalfi is so useful. Please don't think about staying anywhere else, you won't regret it.

We have been meaning to write a review since we visited. Simply a fantastic hotel, and easy to see why it is rated as one of the best in Italy. It sits on a commanding location on the Amalfi coast, with terraced gardens dropping down to an amazing infinity pool which is designed like a pond. Service was excellent and discreet, the food amazing, and the SPA well worth a visit. We would have been back this year, however unfortunately had to cancel due to COVID restrictions.
