We stayed here summer 2015 and because we had such an amazing stay we will be returning June 2017. Everything was on point. We had the standard room and it was more than enough. They had heated floors in the bathrooms and they gave you small gifts every night. We even had an amazing view from our bathtub and room....

BF and I traveled here fall of last year. Hotel has an unreal beauty from the outside in: Clifftop location, tiered grounds and gardens, views a must see once in a lifetime! Definitely video worthy, we did not and regret it! Breakfast, lunch, dinner was amazing, we even took a cooking class with the entertaining Chef Christoph Bob who took...

This is one of the most spectacular hotels in the world! You drive up up UP to this ancient monastery perched high upon a cliff. You see a church and at first think you are at the wrong place. Instead the porter smiles and assures you that you are. A staff member from reception greets you with a warm scented...

It was spectacular on every level...from the property, to the service, the spa and the vicinity. I've stayed at many wonderful properties around the world. This was memorable. I left only two weeks ago and already want to go back. It's a very special place!

I was invited to visit the hotel for a drink because I wanted to spend some time there and hotel policy did not allow for use of the pool without residency. I was so glad that we did on my daughters birthday as they spoilt us all and we found ourselves wishing we had stayed to enjoy the stunning surroundings...

As with the other comments you see about this hotel, words can't capture the beauty and elegance of the facility, the dramatic vistas and most significantly the quality of the service. From your "welcome bell" to your departure, all of your needs are anticipated and handled flawlessly. I strongly recommend dinner at the hotel restaurant for the most incredible food....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Striking the perfect balance of seclusion without solitude, Monastero Santa Rosa allows guests to determine the tone of their stay, whether they're looking to disappear for an intimate getaway or gather with the group and make new acquaintances. It's hard to imagine that the generous grounds, filled with four levels of gardens, lush landscaping, plentiful lounge chairs, and canopied daybeds, serve just 20 rooms and suites. Where most boutique properties might only offer in-room massages, Monastero Santa Rosa hosts a fully equipped spa to rival any major city spa, offering not just treatment rooms, but large-scale amenities that include a sauna, steam, mosaic-tiled experience shower, hydro pool, and tepidarium. Guests are welcome to feel a part of the scene at the library and bar. Engage in a game of chess or cards or read while sipping a martini in the modern cocktail area. Relax down by the pool or discover the resort's secret gardens, quiet sun decks, and indoor relaxation areas. Get the best of both worlds by making your stay as energizing or relaxed as you wish, by selecting different spaces to suit your mood at any time. ... more   less
