After booking this hotel then reading the reviews my holiday excitement turned into dread as a lot of the reviews are awful, so I’m going to write an honest review of my experience. The hotel is nowhere near as bad as I expected.

We arrived to the hotel in the afternoon, I had read before hand that you had to pay €10 a day for aircon but thought I would trial without it first. Aircon was definitely needed! It was ok but not great considering the price it just took the edge off slightly.

The pool area is a decent size and clean, no where near enough sun loungers you will need to get up early to put a towel down to reserve one.
The pool bar served soft drinks wine and beer throughout the day but no spirits or cocktails until 17:30 until 22:30 after 22:30 you have to pay €7. There are only 4 cocktails avaliable too. There is a cocktail bar that is nice less than 10 minutes walk which was €6 so better off going down the road. There was no evening entertainment only on a Sunday. I had a two year old with me so that wasn’t ideal but there was music of an evening.

The atmosphere is very relaxing so perfect for a quiet peaceful holiday!

The restaurant has no aircon and it gets extremely hot! Also the restaurant often runs out of cutlery and plates. The tables are cleared fast.

The food is very basic luckily I’m not a fussy eater and managed fine but if your a fussy eater I think you would struggle. The desserts are very nice and good selection of fruit aswell.

The pizza that was served twice a day was very good! The pool bar food was also fine.

The two ladies the day lady and the evening lady behind the bar are both lovely and we’re amazing with my son and work very hard.

10 minutes walk away there is a selection of supermarkets, shops restaurants and cocktail bars and a beach. The hotel offers a free bus to the beach.

My main issue with this hotel was the rooms and the cleaners. There was a crack in the bath which they covered with masking tape and a bath mat. The maids did not change our until the 9th day and we stayed for 10 days! My room did not have a cot but 3 single beds. I asked for a cot but they did not remove a bed so had no space for the cot making the room very small.

This hotel is nowhere near as bad as I was expecting yes there is a few issues and it’s dated but it’s very quiet and relaxing and can’t fault the bar and reception staff.

Where to start we will not be returning to this hotel, had to pay €10 euros per day for air con which when you book all inclusive is shocking, only beer and wine and fizzy drinks until 5.30pm and then cocktails and spirits available until 10.30pm.
had cockroaches in our bathroom I’m petrified of any sort/ type of bug asked reception to remove them however they sprayed bug spray and that was that however the cockroaches were still coming and going as they please, rooms were small but ok.
Food was not for us only good food was the pizza served 4pm - 5.30pm and the days they did Bbq for lunch was really nice. We ate out a few times due to lack of choice one day there wasn’t even chips.
Most of the staff were very friendly a few not so much.
Had to hold shower head up with carrier bag as kept sliding down just would not stay up.
The views here are stunning and the beach is a 15-20 min walk which is a nice walk along the strip of bars and shops stunning beach.
The views from this hotel were probably the best thing about it lovely Mountain View’s.
No locks in the toilets around the pool or the locks in the hotel toilets on the ground floor.
Best part of the holiday was the views and the beach.
We would come back to Rhodes just not this hotel.

Let’s get the negatives out the way first;

We arrived at 20:00, we were not told about air conditioning being an additional cost so we had to pay €80 (€10 a day), plus an additional €20 charge for tax, upon arrival, which we weren’t happy about as we had to take €100 out of our spending money, considering the hotel is “all inclusive”, we were extremely disappointed by this.

Entertainment could be better, there are two different dance shows, Tuesdays and Sundays, and karaoke night on a Friday, but there is no other entertainment during the rest of the week or during the day times, this includes no daytime activities. You should definitely get involved on a Sunday because it is so much fun, even for someone like me, who cannot dance.

The food is extremely repetitive and boring, no good for vegetarians either as I was eating pasta and potatoes everyday for lunch and dinner. The pizza is amazing, definitely eat it, it’s made fresh in an open pizza oven! Breakfast is cold. We ate out for 2 days because we couldn’t eat it anymore.

The rooms are fairly standard, the shower is small, but at least they have one. Our mattress was hard but we slept okay. There is a hairdryer and plenty of plugs in the room too. Air conditioning doesn’t work if you leave the balcony door open.
Our room was cleaned everyday other than Sunday, but the bins were changed everyday. The maids seem nice but we didn’t see much of them, understandably.

In terms of location, it is ideal as Kolymbia town is a 15 minute walk away, with three beaches within walking distance. The closest is no more than a 10 minute walk, (go left out the hotel, and left at the chapel and it’s right there!) We didn’t get the public transport but the hotel provides timetables for the shuttles and buses with prices which would be useful for those taking public transport instead of taxis. Rhodes Town is about 30 minutes in a taxi and the price varies between €80-€150, return.

The bar staff are lovely, especially Nicolas and George, and the receptionists are helpful too, their English is good and they were very helpful. The restaurant staff, not so much.

The drinks are good, but you can only have two alcoholic ones at a time and only cocktails between 17:30-22:30 before and after that is an extra charge. The cocktails are very diluted also but it doesn’t matter if you can drink enough of them 😉.

For sunbeds, you don’t have to get up early, we woke up at 9:00 most mornings and there were loads still available, though the best in our opinion is opposite the bar, near the children’s slide as the sun is there most of the day, until about 17:30. There are two pools, a larger one and a small, kids pool.

All in all, me and my partner had a lovely 8 days at Loutanis Hotel, and we would come back again. Thank you for a lovely holiday to all the staff!

We went to the Loutanis hotel was the worst hotel ever. Dirty, no cleaning service. Food undercooked and sometimes even frozen and low variety. Breakfast 7 days a week the same. No local food served. Seriously best food were hotdogs at swimming pool. Wine thinned with water. At the swimming pool drinks served only in plastic cups that later on end up in the swimming pool often with its content. Climatisation extra paid and if you do not they everyday water garden to keep the growth of mosquitos and if you forget to close window for the night your children will look like after getting chicken-pox. The owner sits everyday in the swimming pool area and scares people from having too much fun. The pipes in bathrooms forces you to leave used toilet paper in the metal bin and they empty bins only once a day in the morning (you can only imagine the smell when you come back to your room at night). During our stay they didn't even change our bed sheets even once and we stayed there for 11 nights. After complaining to the staff finally I have received clean sheets to wear it myself :p. Absolutely full self-service. My kids were sleeping on a wobbly bunks bed and when the bed finally bed became very wobbly and scary to sleep for my daughter I asked in the reception for the maintenance they said that it's fine and she can sleep there. If we would like to swing on a bed during night we would rent a bout not a hotel. We had to move mattress on the floor cause I would not risk my child's safety because of laziness of staff. And there is funny thing about the owner. When we were asking receptionist to fix that bed the owner was sitting there with stupid smile on his face and did not show even the slightest interest about us guests but when one of the customers wanted to finish her grapes outside the dining room he shouted at her and insulted with perfect English.

Me and my daughter was so exited to go on holiday until we get into this hotel. The hotel was terrible in all ways
First - the restaurant ( if I can say it was restaurant) looks horrible, no choose of good , every day the same pasta , chicken, pork stew and some fish with no taste . When sit down to have a lunch you cant eat normally as there is too many fly’s over the plates which is should be in lunch area . The all inclusive pool bar snacks choise was only hot dogs and salads, the all inclusive drinks all watered, wine is absolutely water with drop of wine . About cocktails like example pina colada etc I’m not talking at all as they didn’t know how to make it
We spent a lot of money by eating in nearby restaurants in Kolympia bc food in this hotel is horrible
On advertising has been state that rooms are fully conditioned, but it wasn’t!!! We came to reception to ask for air con we had to pay for that 10 euros per day , what a joke !!!
If I can I wouldn’t give any star for this hotel
Would I come back there???? Never ever again

The hotel is gorgeous. Very nice service, everything you need, they will arrange it. The rooms were cleaned every day, the towels were replaced with fresh ones. The food was very good, there was something for everyone. And desserts were probably my favorite part of the food. The pool was cleaned on a regular basis, the waitress handed out fresh fruit every day at the pool. In the evenings, our favorite drinks were served by Nektarius, he made delicious compositions, and at the same time we could laugh with him and talk a bit in Polish. I consider the whole stay successful and I will definitely come back here with my fiancé.

The hotel was really nice and above my expectations. It looked so much better than in the pictures. stuff was really nice and helpful and always smiling. Room was basic, but with everything we needed and clean. Food was really good, they were also making some specialities and served food for gluten free diet or vegetarians. Everything was really close, beach was about 5-7 minutes of walk ( we didnt even needed the transport bus to beach that hotel offered). Beach was cleaned and almost empty. The city center was about 4 minutes of walk away. About 10 minutes away was a bus stop to Rhodes and other places ( I really recommend trip to 7 springs ). Everything was really good and we really enjoyed our vocation🙂

My sons and I had had a 3 bed room and although it wasn't fancy, it was clean. It had a sofa bed and large double bed with what looked to be a new mattress and was very comfortable. there was a wardrobe with drawers, 2x bedside tables, small table, dresser and table and chairs on the balcony. The rooms were tidied everyday and the beds remade if you didn't put the do not disturb sign on.
We paid a tax on arrival and 10 euros daily for air conditioning which we left on all the time as it was so hot. we removed the electric key from the main key, easily done and left in the socket.
The pool area was always clean and tidy and topped up regularly with any drinks that were running out.
The pizza oven was fantastic and ideal for those that wanted a snack after swimming. The atmosphere in the evenings was great and not a day went by that the pool and sunbeds weren't in use. There were 2 pools, 1 was more for children than the other and were both well maintained.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, although sometimes communication wasn't easy we muddled through perfectly well.
The food was good, not much variety as people have said but perfectly adequate for me and my boys. There was always plenty of fresh fruit , water and juices available along with tea and coffee. Cereals and toast were also available for breakfast along with fresh cooked pancakes.
The town was only a short walk away and the road up too it was lit up well enough to see and safe enough to walk back to the hotel alone if needed.
They have a games and book borrow in the lobby with English and Greek books available which I found really handy.
on the last day, no matter what time your shuttle to the airport you could still make use of the facilities and food court even though you sign out at 11am from your room. This was ideal for us.
If you just want a cheap relaxing holiday then this is the place for you. We had a great holiday, easy to catch a bus to places if you wish to but plenty in the town and a lovely beach locally if you don't.

Excellent hotel, would recommend to all!

I was slightly nervous reading reviews prior to my stay, but I’ve just finished my 7 nights stay and I can confidently state it was wonderful and unlike all the negative reviews.

The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful, and always happy to help about directions and advice about bus stops and day trips. There’s also a free of charge bus ride and pickup to and from the beach which is lovely.

The room we stayed in was very clean upon arrival and they’d left us a sandwich as we’d missed dinner due to our flight times. We were provided clean towels and the bathroom was clean. There were no bugs, and our room was cleaned daily along with fresh towels. There was always hot water.

Air conditioning is €10 a night but it’s well worth it and it does work despite the negative reviews I read.

The food was equally good. It consisted of a range of meat and vegetarian options, and although the dishes are repeated and a little school dinner like, they are nonetheless enjoyable and delicious. Also excellent desert options!

The pool bar was always lovely too, and the bartender working is always so friendly.

The location is not too bad either, it’s a 10-15 minute walk to the beaches, and about 10 mins walk to restaurants and cocktail bars.

All in all, an excellent and clean hotel for a great price. It is a small quiet place and all staff are attentive. I would happily return.

I don't know who wrote the glowing reviews for this hotel. I only saw one that actually told the truth!
We arrived very late in the evening and things went from bad to worse:-
Room had a double bed although we had emailed and twin beds were confirmed.
Air con was not working-temperature was 30°+
We were told we'd have to wait until morning as no other rooms were empty. This was a lie as when we refused to move from reception they found one with single beds and working air con.
Went to pool bar and asked for white wine-it was watered down as was orange juice
Other families were given rooms with no air con. One family of 4 were given a room with 3 beds!
Food was overcooked, practically the same every day, often trays of food ran out.Only decent things were the coffee, non watered down juice and bread rolls. We ate out a lot even though it was an AI hotel
We were told cost of Covid test was €25 but when the young lady came to do the test we had to pay €30
All in all, I can honestly say the Loutanis is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Thank goodness there was a lovely bar/restaurant called Paradise nearby.
Look elsewhere if you're visiting Rhodes, there are some lovely hotels around, don't waste your money here

Ignore Marten L, the place is fine and the staff really helpful. We had 3 in our room no problem. Enjoy your holiday and please ignore all the ill judged comments on here, some people want to pay 3 star and have stupid unrealistic expectations of what that means, they are living in cloud cuckoo land. We all had a good time and the food was fine , and trust me I'm a very fussy hard to please eater

the shops are about 10 min walk from the hotel. The closes beach is about also 10 min apart from the hotel walking. Then there is a beach farther but bigger end better. For bus ask at the hotel reception...you can reach by bus the beach in about 15 min.
