Don’t believe everything you read, your holiday is what you make it and how u wish to spend your time. Firstly we didn’t like the location of our room so politely asked to move (before we had seen it we asked for an upgrade and the nice lady on reception said to come back) our original room 704 has no balcony etc is right by the kitchen you can hear them talking and washing up late at night early in the morning, water also leaked by under the mirror above the main bed which is where we now know was the kitchen sink! Also has no windows etc very dark room noisy air con the windows it does have looks out on the room behinds veranda no privacy. Wouldn’t recommend this room at all. We got moved to a swim up pool room we paid extra € and was totally worth it! Rooms were basic but we only need it for chilling and sleeping! Make sure you get lots of mosquito repellent and spray the rooms before u go to sleep we hve been eaten alive During the night! I would recommend these rooms you have your own sun terrace and sun loungers, like everyone has said sun beds are impossible to get people keep towels on all the time to keep their spots very unfair but if one’s does it they follow, the hotel should be more on this one to stop it! Some people were coming out at midnight to save their sun beds! Utter madness… The pool which our room was on was always warmer then the others but the wether was so hot the colder the pool the better… The slides are good life guards are on it, quick to react if they are needed we saw them rescue a young boy very well managed. Life guard on the main pool also by bar as this is the deepest pool other two pools you have to look after yourself and your children which is expected. People quick to moan about it all but we made it our experience, the food is samey but we’ve been to all inclusive a before and had the same experience so not fussed about that. Don’t come expecting lots English food. Your in rhodes after all… lots of choice and fresh salads and fish varieties. Breakfast pancakes were the kids favs! Drinks at pool bar does come with a Que and in the evening we found on change over days it was quieter by the bars limited on staff they could do with some more staff. Plastic cups are very thin, if u bring your own plastic tumbler they will fill it for you! Wine is ok, beer not bad soft drinks are the cheaper ones but still tasty. Shop is good not as expensive as some say but depends what u want to buy all shops inside resorts are more pricey. Overall we had a lovely time! Make sure u use ear sprays to stop infection my husband got a nasty one two days before the end pharmacy very good and helped straight away. €6 drive in taxi there and €6 back the taxi guy waited for him to come back out very kind. Would we come back? Probably not but that’s because we don’t go back to places we like to find new places to stay. Mike the entertainer is very hard working and the kids all love it.

On arrival our first impression was that the two water fountains as you go into the hotel wasn't working. There was no information when checking in and was just shown where our room was on a map, no info folder in the room. Had to find out the WiFi code. Room was clean and cleaners came every day, sheets where changed daily. Don't expect to get a sun lounger as towels are left on them overnight or if you are lucky to have a room that goes straight to the pool they are stacked up in the open balconies. The food was OK, same most days, not much variety especially for children and no ice-cream or much dessert choices . Dinner doesn't start until 6.30pm. There is a lack of staff and those they had are rushed of their feet but where very pleasant. Not sure why the shop sells drug's as it is a family hotel, the smell in the evening isn't at all nice especially when children are near. The drinks are give in small plastic cups and the queues are very long, ended up getting four drinks at one time, only two bar staff every night. The evening entertainment was very repetitive and in the end got quite boring. Reception staff where not overly helpful especially when checking out. Nothing much to do outside the hotel but there is a free shuttle to the beach with a few shops or you can get a bus through to the Old Town. Not the best hotel and definitely not a 4 star, wouldn't be in a rush to go back there.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Just to name a few things, food was pretty much the same everyday, leftovers from dinner were served for breakfast including vegetables! One life guard for 4 pools, one day they was an announcement saying “no lifeguard today so watch your children!” The rooms, well wow, we’re that small for 4 people that we had to put a lot of the furniture (tables, chairs etc) on the balcony! My 3yr ASD child got locked in the bathroom, reception sent a cleaner with a spoon to help! Eventually after 40mins a maintenance guy hammered off the door handle and lock leaving a massive hole in the door. This was never replaced so my two disabled children had access to the bathroom the whole time. No kids club! Mini disco started at 830pm (too late I think) and was just the same music played every night. Older kids were looking forward to a foam party one night….never happened so they waited all night for morning. No entertainment during the day for kids at all. Had two blankets for 4 people, asked for more and never got them. Requested a ground floor room for ease with the double pushchair. Our room was up 3 spiral steps! Not helpful at all. The sad thing was my older kids constantly asked to go home as they were bored doing the same thing all day. Only positive was the pools, although they were very cold! Avoid this hotel!

People are too negative with the reviews, so I will try remain impartial. Three positives are: 1. Staff are really amazing. So polite and helpful. Our room had a damaged shower and after complaining they offered us a superior room, but it was too small for our family of four, instead they repaired the shower within 6 hrs. 2. Food is plentiful and fresh. Breakfast is a little bland and repetitive, but lunch and dinner are great, especially the grill and salads. 3. Entertainment is what you would expect, but Magic Mike the coordinator is fantastic and entertains all ages with such enthusiasm. Three areas for development: 1. Sun beds, people leave their towels there all week and hardly use the beds. You end up joining them because there is no way around it! More could be done here to make it fairer. 2. A lot of families are inconsiderate by behaving inappropriately e.g parties until 4am on their balconies. Vaping in restaurant etc… 3. It’s not a 4*, more of a British 3*, but Greece is different. Rooms are dated, basic and cleaning could be better, hence the 3*. Top tips: 1. Explore the country, especially Rhodes old town, Lindos, Butterfly valley, Seven Springs, Faliraki water park. 2. Hire a car at the end of the street (turn right out of the hotel). Cheaper and a safer bet compared to the car hire in the hotel. 3. Bring plastic pint glasses and ask for Sangria as it’s not on the menu but the staff love making it! 4. Bring a Multi-plug. 5. Insect repellent containing Deet. 6. Use the local buses, cheap and reliable. 7. Squeeze in snorkelling around Kolymbia beach, south side. Tonnes of fish and clear waters! Come with an open mind and you will enjoy! Ignore the inappropriate families and their ways and you will have a great time! Would I come again, no, but we did enjoy and didn’t pay over the odds!

We arrived early hours on 24th july. group of 3 families. We checked in we were told our room numbers and left to find our rooms. With a couple of hours sleep we got up early for breakfast, greeted with hotdog sausage, scrambled egg with hard bits, ham floating in grease. My son had 2 boiled eggs for his breakfast but he is a fussy eat and autistic. My 10 yr old daughter eats anything but she said breakfast was horrible and tried cereal couldnt even eat that so we just left and that was the only time we went for breakfast. We couldnt get a sunbed even thou it was 8.30am and 5 pools. We had sit on the edge of a pool so kids can play. We were told people leave there towels on their sunloungers when go up to there room so we knew next day will be another challenge for the beds. Dinner and tea was the same every day not much of a variety very limited. Drinks well the coke isnt proper coke like stated its like a cheap coke from asda but watered down. Drinks at pool bar ur queuing for 10 to 15 mins a time. Its cheap coke, orange, water, wine and beer. People leave their towels on sunbeds all night so u got no chance of getting a sunbed next morning even thou there is 5 pools. The pools are dirty they dont clean them. I went on a slide with my daughter unfortunally swallowed some of the water and i was bad whilst on holiday. Came home went for chest x ray and got out on 2 lots of abtibiotics. My sons impetigo flared up due to bacteria in the water. There was 2 very naughty boys which hit my daughter and caused issues with other familes which we complained about but hotel wouldnt do anything. The lady at pool bar as limited english but she tried and and always had a smile for us. Mike the entertainer is very hard worker and did everything he could to make u have a good time. He agreed something needed be done about the 2 boys but he said he couldnt do anything. The electric and water kept cutting off. Even at the pool side so when electric went no drinks or music was on. Night time entertainment well tables are limited we couldnt get a seat anywhere we ended up sitting 0n a sunbed bottom of the kids pool so can hear but not sea. Queuing up for drinks at night time was at least 30 min wait, we ended up buying drinks from the over priced supermarket in the hotel. Cleaners made the beds but didnt change the covers. My sisters lost luggage arrived at the hotel but wasnt notified, we saw it sitting at the side of the desk door when we were waiting to be picked up to go home. I read all the bad reviews before going hoping it wasnt true but yes they definatly are true im afraid. I tried leaving comments and reviews on their facebook page but the comments kept getting deleted and they dont approve of our posts so that doesnt get uploaded...do not stay at this hotel u will regret it!!!

I’m quite astounded at the bad reviews. We are a family of 14 with 8 kids between 5 and 14 and are still here enjoying our stay. Staff are hardworking and friendly with entertainment every night except Saturday. But even then Mike still come in to do a show last Saturday. Kids love night time disco. The food is like other abroad places however picky eaters in the group have eaten every meal time. There is breakfast cereal. We have not had any upset bellies. Pizza at the pool bar is freshly cooked and delish. Kids love the hotdogs. The pools are cleaned every morning, we watch them from our hotel room. There are no umbrellas but several shaded areas. Our rooms are cleaned every day. We have only left for half a day to visit the beach. The bed reserving is correct however the hotel is trying to stop this. Massage is very relaxing. CBD/THC is available to purchase from the shop as it’s legal here. Sometimes you do have to queue for a drink but we had similar in Tenerife in 2020. The only negative things I can say is 1. The feral kids but that’s nothing to do with the hotel that’s the parents who don’t care. However, the said feral kids have gone. 2. A bigger area is needed for nighttime entertainment 3. The shop is very over priced but there is a supermarket about a 15 minute walk. 4. Kids club is a bit of a rip off as certain activities you have to pay extra for which is not always clear. Greece has a well known problem for mosquitos so repellent is a must. I see a hotel trying to recover from covid and trying daily to please a fully booked hotel. The hotel seem to be watching the reviews as every bad feedback the hotel is trying to put correct despite being minor negative feedback. We paid a lot for the holiday but can see the majority of the costs is flights. Come with an open mind. We are so glad we ignored the reviews and wish we could stay longer. We will be sad when Friday comes to go back home.

I made the mistake of thinking people leaving bad reviews had too high of a standard… they were not wrong! Let’s start with the rooms, my parents room had no air con for 2 days.. it’s August.. it’s hot!!! They had no TV for the majority of our stay, no clean towels for well over a week. Broken fridge, No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, no cups or anything to have a drink, we ended up taking the plastic cups from the bar to be able to have a drink in our room. Rooms are very basic and the beds are rock hard, I asked for extra pillows but couldn’t have them until 6pm the next day for some strange reason. I woke up to an ants nest in our sink to which my husband had to plug a hole in the ceiling with wet toilet paper to stop them getting in. My parents had a bat living in the light on their balcony as there was no cover on it. They also had a plug socket hanging out of the wall. You get the picture.. also kids running up and down the hallways screaming and banging on doors at 1am which the staff didn’t seem to care. The pools.. if you want a sunbed I suggest you send one member of your family out to sit on it from 6am. We were a party of 5, we managed to secure 2 sun beds one day and 1 sunbed another day. People put their towels out and leave them there for the duration of their stay from what I can tell and the staff don’t seem to enforce their ‘no reserving beds’ rule. The pool area is filthy, algae under the rim of the main swimming pool, broken drainage around the kids pool, plastic cups, rubbish and fag butts everywhere. We had an 11 day holiday - we spent a total of 3 days around the pools. We ended up hiring a car for the most of our holiday to get out for the day so we didn’t have to be here. I don’t usually like reviews slating the people who are staying at the hotel, but I do have to agree with some of the reviews already on here. Some guests are something else.. that’s all I’ll say. Evenings are horrendous.. kids ‘mini-disco’ is about 4 songs long run by a DJ with a bunch of teenage groupies standing behind him showing off.. not my idea of a kids disco that’s for sure. If you want a drink then get in line because you will be queuing at the bar. Half the stuff in the little arcade doesn’t work or has broken parts. Food - the food standard is pretty low. My daughter lived on pasta and chips for lunch and dinner and hotdog sausages at breakfast. We were all so sick of the food we ate out a lot! Not what you expect to be doing when you have booked an all inclusive holiday, food is extremely oily, salty and quite honestly sloppy. If you want runny scrambled egg then this is the place for you! Stale bread every morning, a toaster that takes an age to toast, bacon that barely touched the frying pan - maybe that’s how they have it over here but I wouldn’t touch it if you paid me. Snack bar during the day has stale buns and hotdogs - yum! and pizza which they ran out of regularly. Very few staff members were nice and helpful but many were not. All in all - a holiday is what you make it, we were in a position to hire a car and get out of the hotel which is really what saved this holiday, Rhodes has some beautiful places and beaches. We found some lovely restaurants and kolymbia night life has a lovely stretch of shops and bars on eucalyptus street. If you think all of this is acceptable then this is the place for you. Good points.. my 6 year old loves the slides and I have a lovely tan.. also the apple juice that you buy from the overpriced shop is nice. Other than that, I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

Review of Golden Odyssey Reviewed today Never seen 4* more like a 2* Food plentiful but repetitive. Same meat In differing dishes Breakfast Bacon is fried ham, boiled eggs not boiled properly Scrambled eggs full of salt and cheese Cold meats are wafer thin Lunch Re-hashed from dinner the previous night. Dinner Pork, chicken, veal, fish & pasta every night in different dishes Pools Small pool all ladders are broken but there a bit of space between sun beds Slides good with lifeguard 2nd pool good but there’s not an inch between sun beds & people leave towels on them 24/7 Big pool with baby pool good but again no space to move, You’ll be lucky is you can find a sun bed at any pool Bar area slippy Slides area slippy Staff friendly but not enough of them Drinks Daytime pool bar beer, ouzo, wine and cheap fizzy drinks Night bar Can queue for 20-30 minutes at times to get served and it’s in plastic glasses(throw away ones) Entertainment Mick works really hard and it’s the best thing about place. Rooms basic unless you upgrade and ours hasn’t been cleaned properly in the 2 weeks we’ve been here. Everywhere is grubby Plagued by Mosquito bites. Mosquito’s splattered on walls. Checked out and booked shower room for 9 people was given an hour. When to get key said no booking for us but we could shower but could only have 5 towels. Hotel remote you have to get a bus or taxi everywhere. Won’t be going back even if it was free

We arrived late in the morning to unlock our door to the apartment and when we walked it I was gobsmacked, how basic it was 3 normal beds and a prison bed for my 12 year old, there's no privacy at all.... I complained in the morning and moved rooms which had 4 normal beds and still no privacy... the room was full of splatted mosquito prints on the walls, also full of live ones. Our room got cleaned once in the time we were there I even had to go n get my own toilet roll. 😡 The pools were great but if you didn't reserve your bed the day before you had no chance on getting 1, the food was good in the dinner hall and at the bar, no other alcholic drinks in the bar other than beer n wine until 5 pm then it was madness 😡😡😡 sometimes we were waiting 25minutes for a vodka n coke. Over all I was disappointed in the cleansing of our apartment and the lack of staff I wouldn't come back here but would come back to Greece not value for money and not 4 star......

We visited here for a week. After reading the recent reviews we really were dreading it, and the dread became a reality. Lets split it into a few categories: Food - Terrible Breakfast as an English family, you want something that resembles an English breakfast, preferably a full English breakfast or just cereal that we know its impossible. The bacon is ham, the scrambled egg has enough salt in to feed the world. We all all lived off a plain croissant with chocolate sauce, very disappointing. Lunch and dinner was also disappointing and made it worse when we had to queue to get into the restaurant which we have never had to do at an all inclusive. The pool bar which I believes serves from 2pm - 5pm i wouldn't let the stray cat down the road eat. The pizza was rock hard and the hot dogs were straight from a tin and cold. Service - in my mind an all inclusive is help yourself to whatever you want when you want. This place of course have a very different stance on this. To get a drink in the daytime from the pool bar there is 1 member of staff. Your are queing at the best of times for 10 mins at least. In the evening at the bar, I was stood in the queue for just shy of 25 mins to get myself, my wife and my 2 children a drink, this was every night not just a 1 off. The queue was huge, backing up to the shop, I have never seen anything like it. They only have 2 members of staff on all night, again I have never experienced this at an all inclusive. The staff behind the bar are ignorant/arrogant/rude. We arrived at just before midnight mid week, walking towards our room to notice that every sun bed had a towel on, never seen this in my life. The following morninh our first day, we couldn't find 3 sun beds to sit on. Every sun bed was taken up without people touching them for hours, absolute madness. In my opinion the only positive to this hotel is Mike, the entertainer. Him and his family (wife who runs the massues side of things and his daughter who helps out on stage) are amazing. They made this holiday. Without them this review would have been 10x worse. Overall I would never visit this hotel again. Good was below poor, service was worse, location was below average also. Entertainment, Mike you deserve you better. Thankyou
