Golden Odyssey garners mixed reviews, with its vibrant atmosphere and nightly entertainment being a highlight for guests. However, some have called for updates, particularly in certain areas that appear worn. While the rooms are often commended for their cleanliness and comfort, a number of guests have voiced concerns regarding maintenance and dated decor. The hotel's pools and entertainment are frequently celebrated, yet some travelers suggest these amenities could benefit from more attentive cleaning. Service experiences vary, with the restaurant and bar staff generally receiving accolades for their friendliness, in contrast to the reception team, which has faced criticism for a lack of responsiveness. The location's tranquility and provided shuttle service are appreciated by some, but others find it too remote from popular attractions. Lastly, questions around value are raised, with several travelers dissatisfied with the all-inclusive offerings and the perceived high cost of amenities.

In times of Covid, let's start with hygeine side, and I can say they adapted very well. They have hand sanitizer stations all around the hotel, the tables are cleaned and tablecloths changed after every guest! The room was very clean when we arrived! The food was nice too. Kids loved the polls and water slides!!! They wanted to stay at the hotel all day to play! The staff is helpful and very friendly, specially Emanuel, who was always receiving us at the restaurant with a big smile on his face and making sure everything was great! Thanks Emanuel for making our stay even better! Mike, the entertainer is amazing too!! I loved the Zumba classes!

Don’t believe everything you read, your holiday is what you make it and how u wish to spend your time.

Firstly we didn’t like the location of our room so politely asked to move (before we had seen it we asked for an upgrade and the nice lady on reception said to come back) our original room 704 has no balcony etc is right by the kitchen you can hear them talking and washing up late at night early in the morning, water also leaked by under the mirror above the main bed which is where we now know was the kitchen sink! Also has no windows etc very dark room noisy air con the windows it does have looks out on the room behinds veranda no privacy.

Wouldn’t recommend this room at all.

We got moved to a swim up pool room we paid extra € and was totally worth it! Rooms were basic but we only need it for chilling and sleeping! Make sure you get lots of mosquito repellent and spray the rooms before u go to sleep we hve been eaten alive During the night!

I would recommend these rooms you have your own sun terrace and sun loungers, like everyone has said sun beds are impossible to get people keep towels on all the time to keep their spots very unfair but if one’s does it they follow, the hotel should be more on this one to stop it! Some people were coming out at midnight to save their sun beds! Utter madness…

The pool which our room was on was always warmer then the others but the wether was so hot the colder the pool the better…

The slides are good life guards are on it, quick to react if they are needed we saw them rescue a young boy very well managed.

Life guard on the main pool also by bar as this is the deepest pool other two pools you have to look after yourself and your children which is expected.

People quick to moan about it all but we made it our experience, the food is samey but we’ve been to all inclusive a before and had the same experience so not fussed about that. Don’t come expecting lots English food. Your in rhodes after all… lots of choice and fresh salads and fish varieties.

Breakfast pancakes were the kids favs!

Drinks at pool bar does come with a Que and in the evening we found on change over days it was quieter by the bars limited on staff they could do with some more staff.
Plastic cups are very thin, if u bring your own plastic tumbler they will fill it for you! Wine is ok, beer not bad soft drinks are the cheaper ones but still tasty.

Shop is good not as expensive as some say but depends what u want to buy all shops inside resorts are more pricey.

Overall we had a lovely time! Make sure u use ear sprays to stop infection my husband got a nasty one two days before the end pharmacy very good and helped straight away. €6 drive in taxi there and €6 back the taxi guy waited for him to come back out very kind.

Would we come back? Probably not but that’s because we don’t go back to places we like to find new places to stay.
Mike the entertainer is very hard working and the kids all love it.

When we arrived we did not get put in the rooms we paid for (which is why I have scored poor for value). We were put in standard rooms with 3 single beds in each room. This was not ideal for my sisters family of 5 as they only had 3 beds for 2 adults and 3 children. This was only rectified after 2 days of complaining to reception and contacting our travel agent back at home. My sisters family finally got the room they were supposed to have in the first place, but we did not and we couldn't be bothered to argue this and waste fun holiday time.
Lots of small issues in the standard rooms, not enough plug sockets and the 3 that were in the room, one was for the fridge and the other for the TV, so that mainly left 1 free socket which was not well placed as it was half way up the wall (but that's more me being fussy). The towel rail in the bathroom was not fixed to the wall properly and wobbled and the basin and shelf under the mirror were also not level. There is no kettle in the room and when we asked for one this took about 1-2 days and asking reception a couple of times before it arrived to the room. Cleaners are a little hit and miss, some days our room was cleaned and other days it was not. I think we had 2 days in a row when no one cleaned our room which meant our bin was overflowing a little.
Reception staff, if you ever have a complaint and deal with an older lady with light hair who seems to work with a male colleague is not particularly helpful. However, all other staff we dealt with were nice and polite.
Despite these things, we had a nice holiday ad the location of the hotel wasn't too bad, we could get cheap busses to Lindos, Faleraki and Rhodes town and the hotel does have a shuttle bus for the beach - just be prepared that you may have to wait for 2nd or 3rd run to the beach as it is a mini bus.
Personally I would say this is not a 4 star hotel. It is a shame as it has so much potential to be a really nice place and if they invested in it a bit more and their staff and get some more staff, it would be so much better. Kids loved it though, swimming pools were clean and water slides were fun.

1st trip to Greece, loved Rhodes but the accommodation especially the food, general standards & facilities were far lower than the alleged 4* offical rating.

The food is very greasy, poor quality, limited choice & the restaurant understaffed & they speak hardly any English.

The rooms don't have doors on the showers leading to water flooding the bathroom.

The general upkeep in communal areas such as handrails hanging off etc. are in dire need of attention.

The free shuttle buses advertised by the tour operator are cancelled due to COVID-19 so it's a taxi ride away from anywhere decent to go.

In our case travelling with TUI the rep service was almost non-existent & when we did finally see 1 she refused to accept that there were any issues.

Regarding Rhodes, the old town & Lindos are beautiful places but the hotel's location makes tours difficult as they charge a surcharge for extra fuel due to it's rural location.

I definitely wouldn't stay here again & leave throughly disappointed.

We have just had a week's stay at this Hotel and First Impressions upon Arrival weren't Brilliant to start with got checked in headed to our room to be greeted by a very basic dreary looking room this Hotel states it's 4* star it most certainly isn't it's 2* at best. The Bathroom very small multiple cracked tiles looking very unsightly the biggest issue which is in my opinion dangerous when you have a shower the water comes up the drain in the bathroom & effectively floods making it very slippery the drainage system is very poor indeed and seriously needs addressing.

The restaurant again seemed quite run down food is of a very poor standard the fact the restaurant is open all day and doesn't close until 8.30pm may be a reason can imagine turn around between meals is very quick so not much effort goes into the food and that is clear to see. Breakfast for example undercooked eggs even rubbery eggs that were not very nice. Undercooked meat it seems alot of the food is just thrown out there with little effort we ate out most of the time as quite frankly food isn't that delicious the hotel needs to pay more attention to quality rather than quantity.

Drinks well having been in many All Inclusive hotels i know all inclusive drinks are generally watered down a bit this place takes it to a new level watered down to the point of being tasteless even the very limited cocktails on offer didn't really taste of anything. We had an issue when it come to drinks my partner being Diabetic needs sugar free drinks multiple times i asked for Coke Zero told they didn't have we then had to complain to reception as we could see they did have bottles of it and was the response was you they only give it out to people with health issues to get a sugar free drink which is appalling as never in any hotel have we ever had to disclose a medical condition to get a drink which is a basic request in all inclusive.

TUI Advertise this hotel as All Inclusive but not as we generally know it The pool bar consists of Soft drinks your average Beer & Wine that tastes almost of Vinegar. No Spirits till after 5pm to me that's not all Inclusive.

The hotel in my opinion especially the standard rooms need to be modernised and done up to reflect the 4* rating it gives itself as I've stayed in many hotels of that rating and this place is certainly not that of 4* star accommodation also every hotel I've stayed in offers a courtesy room for a short period of time free this hotel charges for the pleasure of a shower not good when you have a late flight not exactly a courtesy room either when you have to pay. Many of the features WiFi/Safe etc are all extra charges to almost like Ryanair charge you for anything extra they can.

The only positives are the nice pool area and entertainment guys they are so upbeat and friendly and a Credit to the hotel.

First of all bad points as there are not many! It is a little out the way but it’s a nice evening stroll into town and definitely a taxi back due to lighting. The life guard is very whistle happy and changes her rules daily but there are plenty of pools to sit round and she is mainly at the slides /plush area. All inclusive drinks could be better in the day not much to choose from alcohol wise just beer and wine but from 5pm all spirits available. Our room was lovely we had no problems beds were comfortable and it was clean, the food is amazing very traditional Greek dishes which we love but they always have salad chips and pastas so people who are not so keen should find something. The food is fresh you won’t find the food from lunch served in the evening. The smell of it being cooked when your laying by the pool is amazing. I am very fussy with meats and all the cuts I ate were lovely and cooked well. The service due to COVID is slightly different snacks are not available from the pool bar as usual but you can go to the restaurant and get snacks instead where they are served to you, it is not a help yourself buffet. Always loads of fresh fruit which is delicious. The staff are all very helpful friendly and can’t do enough for you. The manager is very on top of things always see him checking on the grounds and facilities daily. I would definitely return purely for the pastichio one if the best I’ve ever had! I honestly don’t know how they don’t have a higher trip advisor rating here keep doing an amazing job guys.

When we arrived at the hotel the reception staff were very helpful and polite. The rooms are very spacious they are very clean and the linen gets changed every day if you need any extra pillows or ask for a blanket the cleaners will leave them In your room they have great pools from small to large different environment to the large pool is always quiet lively but the small ones by the slides are a lot quieter the food is good the pool bar is very helpful if you miss out on lunch you can get a full sized pizza there the catering staff are always helpful and always are happy to serve you the music varies and suits all different cultures the entertainment staff are amazing they are very talented people they all speak other languages to suit different people they put there all into entertainment during the day like water volleyball or aqua aerobics even ping pong or darts and they do the same at night with evening entertainment Julia and Mike with the kids mini disco and Rio with his dancing and to all 4 of them making the entertainment both day and night brilliant not only to watch but to also get involved.

The spa -voula

One of the best things I’ve ever tried the spa itself is very clean and tidy and modern voula herself makes you feel very welcome and relaxed she takes her time and checks on you to make sure your ok and that you feel comfortable the treatments aren’t expensive and are well worth the cost anyway she is very helpful with booking in your treatment all in all I would give her and the spa a 5/5 .

We are one very happy couple and would happily come back to this lovely place .

We went here in summer 2017 and it was extremely hot(unlike the time which won't let it be changed). From start to finish this was a very enjoyable stay.

I am the type of person who gets very anxious in places I have never been before, however this hotel made me feel totally at ease, especially the very hospitable staff.

The rooms were beautiful, ours had huge ceilings with beams and a stunning view of the mountains behind the hotel. They were always spotless and more than enough for me and my partner who stayed in one room whilst my family stayed in the next.

The pool was lovely, you could always get a bed no matter what time you arrived. The entertainment was fun around the pool, but could be avoided if needed as they started the time time every day.

The food was great, it did start getting slightly repetitive as the two weeks went, however the gyros and ice cream around the pool were to die for, especially when that's usually all me and my partner ate before dinner.

It had easy access to the beach and the surrounding town with an extremely frequent shuttle bus and it had easy access to sites around the island with a bus stop right outside the hotel which dropped off right up the coast till Rhodes Old Town which is just beautiful and where we actually spent a couple of days.

I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for families, it's fun and just a lovely place to spend 2 weeks, especially for the price.

We are currently staying at the Golden odyssey and are due to leave on the 29th July so as is things are with school holidays now underway.

The Good: nice choice of pools for the children, Aqua park good, daytime entertainment programme is reasonable. The rooms are clean enough although a huge lack of towels for a family of 5 as each day we only get 3 large towels and then 3 hand towels. The staff work long hard hours and most try to be friendly.

The Bad: If you are not from France you will find all of the evening entertainment not for you as seems to be french song after french song, this included mini club. When booking the hotel nowhere did it say that it was primarily for french residents, I understand a fair proportion of the guests are french and need to be accomadated but there is also a large number of English families that are not catered for in the evening disco. The daytime pool
Bar is a bit of a joke with you only being allowed 2 slices of pizza and this is a snack bar with only one snack, they also finish one pizza before cooking another leading to a increase in queue times, in the event you try and go back up for more pizza the staff look at you like you’ve committed murder, the same can be said when you ask for multiple soft drinks. With a family of 5 we often needed large numbers of soft drinks and this also seemed to infuriate some members of staff. A simpler solution would be to make the soft drink machines self serve as is at most other all inclusive restaurants. They have water on self serve in the pool bar so why not the rest of the soft drinks?

The Ugly: 3 times a day breakfast, lunch and dinner by far and away the most miserable dining experience I have had at any all inclusive restaurant, I can’t remember a time when we all managed to eat together as someone was always in either the food queue or the salad queue or the drinks queue in the restaurant. A completely miserable experience in the morning I like a roll with my breakfast so I need to queue 15 minutes in one queue to get my hot food and then 15 minutes extra to get my roll by which time my food is cold, another review say meat market and that’s the only thing I can liken it to. There has to be a better way to do it, the food wastage is crazy as people are just piling food high to omit the need to visit the buffet again. Again this is served food similar to what you would see in a prison line with the staff handing out the portions. For us on our holiday it is just a really bad way to eat with each other. There has to be a slicker way to work this be it scheduled times or self service but really had left a terrible taste in our mouth.

In summary if you can handle the queues it’s a good place for children to come, but if you want to eat as a family you may be going out the resort in a evening to one of the Greek Tavernas(couldn’t recommend olive grape any more was fantastic?

This hotel defiantly is not 4 star, 2 star at a push.
The rooms were very basic and very tired and need updating. Some of our party up graded to a superior room and the only difference was they got a newer bathroom. There were some deluxe rooms however only 4 per floor in the main hotel.
Some staff were helpful, friendly and excellent , some staff were miserable, unhelpful and snappy!
Out of the 6 rooms we occupied our room was the only room with a shower attached to the wall. One of the other room the shower fell apart first time of use and flooded the bathroom, the fridge seal came away and the glass on the balcony was held on by duck tape.
Food was not great, same of everything every meal time. The children struggled with food as not a lot of choice. All inclusive drinks were poor, they kept running out, pizza in the afternoon the cooked one then when that one went they then put in another! People soon learnt to take the Maxine of 4 bits at a time.
Pools were great, crowded but we always had a sun beD and plenty of shade which was needed.
Lifeguard on the slides.
In 10 days we only had the sheets changed once on day 8 which was a bit daft!
Towels you need to leave in the floor otherwise they just rehang them.
No hairdryers, or tea and coffee facilities in rooms, we asked for a kettle got it day 6, and it was broken, never replaced.
No irons in rooms and the air conditioning was so old it was not great, it cooled the room slightly less than outside.
We had a good holiday as we were determined too. All of our party (apart from children) have worked and home schooled throughout the pandemic and the break was well needed.
Weather was amazing, beach was nice. Hotel was quite away from places beach and shops were a good 20-25 minutes walk away , or a €6 taxi ride, it was too hot to walk.

I'm not sure. When I say the pool was dirty, it's not because of big debris etc. lying around; but the water simply isn't clear enough. During our one week stay they used some clear-water solution once, making it better. The worst day even visibility at 1m depth was rather bad.
