Kolymbia Sun garners positive feedback for its modern, clean rooms, although some guests have flagged issues with smaller, less maintained spaces. The hotel's overall cleanliness and daily maid service receive praise, yet there are occasional remarks about dated areas. The staff's friendliness and professionalism are regularly highlighted, contributing to a lively atmosphere, despite criticisms of monotonous pool music. While the amenities, including the pool and dining options, are well-received, calls for upgrades are noted, particularly concerning the sunbeds and bathroom facilities. The hotel's location is deemed convenient for beachgoers and shoppers, but the value perception is mixed, with some guests finding certain services pricey.

We stayed here for two weeks and thought before that it might feel like too long, but how wrong we were... Varied food at all meals, very nice staff everywhere and nice room with very good airconditioning.

We had issues with the wifi but spoke up and the manager at the hotel immediately stepped in and upgraded the service from his provider, talk about listening to guests.

We can highly recommend this hotel, we stayed here five years ago and were super satisfied. The years after that it was sold out when we were to book and then covid came two years.... Now we were out early and had a wonderful holiday thanks to all the nice staff at the hotel. A really cozy and small family hotel that had everything we could wish for. We had all inclusive.

The only thing we wish more was more panncakes and pizza :)

We flew to Rhodes after a the best week in Crete. I thought that our stay at the hotel in Crete would not be topped but I was wrong, Kolymbia Sun was absolutely brilliant. We arrived hours before check in and we asked to store our suitcases but the lovely lady at reception went above and beyond, she told us to go in the restaurant and have breakfast and that our room would be ready by the time we finished and that it was. The room was a decent size, a little dated but overall good enough for us. The food was ok, kind of what you expect from an all inclusive hotel and the lunch time bbq and Gyros station was a lovely touch.
The pool was a decent size with plenty of sunbeds available no matter what time you get to the pool.
The entertainment was good, they had a disco and a Greek night which were both brilliant, shame there wasn’t a bit more on throughout the week but it didn’t matter as a 2 minute walk round the corner there are a few nice bars to visit.
The location is great, 5-10 minute walk to a choice of 3 beaches that are all beautiful, the smaller quieter harbour beach was our favourite. There is also a bus stop just round the corner where it is an easy trip to Rhodes town, Faliraki and plenty of other lovely places.
The best part about this hotel though was the staff, they are all a credit to this hotel. The lady on reception ( I feel bad as I can’t remember her name) was a gem, so helpful and happy help with any questions we had. We asked about the free bus to the water park and not only did she explain where and when to get it she even called the waterpark to make sure it was coming, just one of many examples of her excellent customer service.
The Bar staff were top class, always laughing and joking while also very professional and managing to serve everyone at a busy bar very well. We will really miss Andi and Leo, the best bar men that we have ever met and our holiday would not have been the same without them.
The only bad thing about this hotel was having to go home.

10/10

We’ve literally just got back from a 4 night break here, 3 adults and 2 teen boys. Definitely considering going here again.
I’ve given 4 stars based on food choice available but they do really try hard.
Welcoming staff and very proud of their hotel. Quiet ish area but we was looking for 100% chill anyway so didn’t bother us.
Generous room sizes with safe, fridge, aircon, wifi and vanity table. Some guests had ant problems but we never had them and we didn’t leave food lying around. Maids came everyday, asked if we needed anything, emptied bins and tidied the bed .
Family staying there said there was a laundry service, €20 for a whole bag, washed and dried. Can’t say I needed this service but I think €20 is steep!
Can’t fault the staff at all. Pool can get busy and loungers are hogged but which pool don’t have these problems. Kids club looked good,I saw kids in the club house doing various activities. They laid on night entertainment, varied from live singers to circus shows. Outside music repetitive but keeps the pool vibes going. Kid pool and main pool available. Tons of sheltered tables and chairs to eat or chill. Bbq/lunch served outside, breakfast and dinner served in restaurant inside in clean buffet style. Free ice cream all day, help yourself.

Came across some rude and obviously racist guests who like to stare and whisper (I obviously tan better then them).
We’re a mixed raced family but we did see other black families staying here, so just ignore the racist frumps and enjoy!!

Free drinks run from 10am-11pm outside so get a few waters for the night. Free drinks start inside at breakfast and dinner only. You never queue long outside, plenty of staff.
Go have a fun vacation

This is a lovely hotel in a great location, just a short walk from the beach.

All of the staff from the cleaners to the bar team work incredibly hard and really made us feel welcome.

Food is fresh and varied, and the Gyros are to die for!!

Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels provided.

We even took advantage of the cheap laundry service so we didn’t have to go home with a full load of dirty clothes.

Finally, just a comment about the awful wildfires. We were so fortunate to be staying here when holidaymakers in other parts of the island had to be evacuated. We were very mindful of the staff, who possibly had family and friends impacted by the fires. But they remained professional at all times - nothing was too much trouble. We wish them all well.

Thank you to the entire team for a special holiday and see you again.

We have been staying in "Kolimbia Sun" Hotel in August 2020.

The room was cosy and spacious with comfortable beds and small but sufficient bathroom.

From the room's terrace you will have a pictersque landscape of the town and the seaside in the background - really appreciate such feature of the room !

It is worth to mention that the hotel has very good location concerning the access to beautiful beaches - three of them are in the vicinity of the hotel and are located not further than 400m by walk (approximately 5-7 minutes).

What is more the service of the hotel is willing to help you and make your stay even more comfortable.

To sum up, I truly recommend "Kolimbia Sun" Hotel to everyone who is willing to spend a nice and attractive vacations on Rhode Island in the marvelous Greece!

Best regards from Cracow, POLAND

We arrived late into the evening, and they had food ready for us as we had missed the evening meal time.

The reception staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and could not do enough for us.

Our room was located on the level of reception, and conveniently located as we went with our parents, and one had mobility issues as there was not a lot of steps around the hotel it was perfect for them.

The rooms were quite modern but the bathrooms could do with upgrading! Nice balcony overlooking the garden at the rear.
The beds are a little hard could do with better mattresses.

You do have air conditioning in the rooms but not the coldest could do with an upgrade.

The rooms were cleaned daily and the beds changed once in a week but the cleaners do need to pay more attention to detail

The food in the restaurant and the snack bar is lovely we never had any difficulty finding something nice to eat the food was very tasty, and the giros snacks were lovely as well as the Greek salads! With one of being vegetarian this was a plus for us. The staff in the restaurant are amazing can’t do enough you and so friendly.

The bar staff the same they work so hard and there cocktails are lovely a must try, you also gave ice cream on tap all day if you want it kids love it!!

The pool area is small but never had any difficulty getting beds as the hotel is small and friendly with umbrellas in-between.

They have entertainment every few night as well.

The hotel is located just 5 min walk from 3 lovely beaches, and just around the corner from the main strip, you have a bus stop around the corner that takes you to Rhodes Town and Lindos and the rest of the island a must see.

Would definitely stay here again as we can’t thank the staff enough they were amazing.

We stayed here in June. We had booked our holiday through Easyjet. Their description of the hotel said 10 minutes walk to the busy main street... this hotel is barely 10 seconds from the main street! We've stayed in Kolymbia before many years ago so were expecting to be about a half mile from the centre not right in it. That's Easyjet's fault though, not the hotel's. The place was very overcrowded. It says it's a small hotel, which it is, but the sheer number of people there makes you wonder if they're 8 to a room! The rooms are small and my sister had to rearrange the furniture in her room to get to the bed because she kept hitting her leg on the dressing table which was barely a foot from the bed. You could never get a sunbed because it was so busy and the photos have been very well taken as they belie the size of the outside area which is very small! The outside area has no fence or wall, it is very public and literally right on the street and anyone can walk in to the bar area. There was nothing comfortable or chilled about it. The traffic noise was so loud we could barely hear ourselves speak if we were sat in the bar area and goodness knows what fumes we were inhaling. Lunch is outside and you have to queue up along the edge of the pool which is not ideal for people who are trying to sunbathe on their loungers and people are hovering over them mere inches away. Both our rooms had dirty balconies with lots of rubbish on them and ours looked out over a corrugated roof and the wall of the shops next door which was really ugly. The bathrooms were dark and grubby and we did not use the showers for that reason. Suffice to say that after the first night and no sleep because of the music outside I phoned Easyjet and told them we couldn't stay there. If we hadn't arrived late the night before we wouldn't have spent even one night there. We spent our first day getting taxis around the area looking for a new hotel, which we were lucky enough to find and promptly moved at our own expense! We have complained to Easyjet about their misleading misrepresentation of the hotel's location. I know this is only a 3-star hotel but it wasn't a cheap holiday! If you're looking for a loud, busy holiday then this place is for you. If you're after something a bit more relaxed and quiet then do not go here! I will say the staff are lovely.

Sat here in the bar on our last day wanted to write this and I don’t write many a lovely gem of a hotel made even perfect by the staff a massive thank you to Andy, Sonia, Aurel and Tiki for looking after us always smiling! I want to make clear people who are expecting 5* don’t bother it’s a basic hotel which is cleaned everyday always fresh towels any problems speak to Julien on reception he was brilliant always happy to help as soon as we got here he got us a beer straight away then we checked in the food is good always something different but Gyro are amazing packed with everything and always very tasty! The ice cream is lovely loads of different flavours! Only downfall we had was we had a family room which had a bunk bed in it but we didn’t make a fuss and mind it we worked around it wasn’t a problem would recommend to anyone who just wants a chilled week away there’s a beautiful beach just down the road crystal waters and sandy! The main beach is very pebbly and stoney so just be aware! Thanks again

Kolympia Sun, 2022 July visit left me shocked with the way black people were treated. The food was dry such as chips and uncooked chicken every single day. The atmosphere of this area towards people of colour is atrocious, in particular when a micro aggression comment of "can I feel your hair?" was made by one family at the hotel. The bar was open till 11pm however the bartenders were both perverted and disrespectful. Also the use of black songs to encourage us to take part in the dancing was foul and unnecessary. The staff there was friendly but almost too friendly like a type of fear. The cleaners would come to replace towels and bed sheets however it was still stained with yellow marks and snot. Overall very uncomfortable atmosphere around the entire area.

A lovely friendly hotel. The staff work hard and create a happy atmosphere for the guests. The restaurant food was ok, we were not picky eaters so always found something we liked. Lunch was served outside by the pool bar, which had plenty of shady seating for eating. The gyros available at about 3/4 pm were delicious. We stayed 4 nights and 2 nights had entertainment, a circus night and 2 singers who were excellent. Some of the sunbeds were a bit battered, but by September it does happen. The resort of Kolymbia had a variety of shops, restaurants and bars with a good safe atmosphere. The beach is about a 10 minute walk, clean and family friendly. We paid 12 euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for a whole day. Rhodes Town is worth a visit, with it's city with in the castle which was beautiful. A bus takes you there for 4 euros each. A nice little 3 star hotel.
