We have just returned from 10 days bed and breakfast at Matoula Beach . Staff were all very friendly and answered any queries we had. We asked for extra pillows and although we could only get one at the time (it was bedtime), we were then given 2 more the following day. Our room was ideal for the 3 of us (2 adults and a teenager). Beds were made every day, sheets changed half way through our stay and towels changed every 2nd day. The bathroom was modern and the rain shower (as well as handheld shower) was lovely. The air conditioning was very welcome and kept the room super cool. The wee fridge was ideal for keeping water cool and had enough room for some ham and cheese from the wee shop across the road too. It also has a ring freezer ideal for a couple of ice lollies.
There was always enough sun beds for everyone and although there weren’t enough parasols for everyone, there were plenty of shaded areas around the pool that were ideal. The pool was lovely and very clean. It never felt too busy although it’s quite small. Several people have mentioned the planes in their reviews. It didn’t bother us at all and we actually liked looking up to see which plane was passing. The noise of the plane lasted about 5 seconds so not a big issue at all! The added bonus was the very short (10-15 minutes) transfer from the airport!
Breakfast was nice with plenty of food to choose from but we did start to get a big fed up with it after a week. We ate lunch at the pool bar several times. Food was always amazing albeit a bit pricey. We took part in the Greek night on the Friday night for 20 Euros. We enjoyed it and felt that some people left early not giving it a chance. We ended up being encouraged to come up and dance along with the Greeks and we had great fun!
For us the hotel was in an ideal location. It was quiet but close enough to other places. It was a 5 minute walk to the pebble beach where we didn’t go during the day (you could hire sunbeds) but we liked to go down and watch the sunset. There were 2 good supermarkets 2 minutes walk away with everything you would need. There were 2 lovely restaurants 3/5 minutes walk towards the main road - Pegasus and Rosemarys. Both were lovely and the food was amazing! We also spotted another 3/4 restaurants within walking distance.
We took the bus from the main road into Rhodes town on several occasions. It was easy to do, cost around 2,50 euros one way and took about 20 minutes. Be prepared to stand though - the buses were very busy! We also took the bus into Iallysos centre a couple of nights just about 7 minutes away. A taxi to/from Rhodes town was 20 euros and 10 euros to/from Iallysos centre. We also took a taxi to the Filerimos cross and monastery which we enjoyed.

Great little hotel. The night desk clerk greeted us on our late evening arrival. Very nice man. Went to our rooms on the 1st floor in the front of the hotel facing the road. We were allocated the family room with bunk beds which we actually used as storage as not a massive amount, my cousin and her husband were next door in a normal double. Very large rooms spotlessly clean and kept that way by the cleaner. The bar was open till 1am which was a bonus as we didn’t arrive till midnight.
Towels changed every other day and bedding every third day which was fab. Nice bathroom although the hairdryer wasn’t the best. Kettle and fridge in room so we had a few supplies from the supermarket over the road.
All the staff were hardworking and the friendliest of people who really made the stay more enjoyable. Shout out to Manos and Lillian.
We were bed and breakfast which was nice and cooked fresh with the usual cooked and continental choices. We had lunch a few times at the pool/evening bar which was again freshly cooked and tasty. Recommend the toasted sandwiches.
The Greek night was fun and was 20 euros per person with your food included. Greek dancing optional ha ha.
The area itself was quiet; well apart from the fact we are on the flight path to the airport with the aircraft flying directly over the roofs which I have to say we actually loved as avid plane spotters. They do stop flying overnight so you get a peaceful nights sleep. There weren’t many eateries in the general area for those on b&b just 2 up the road and then a couple more back up on the main road; but a taxi into Rhodes old town is a must. Or you can catch the bus at the top of the road but there were 4 of us to share the cost of a taxi about 20 euros each way. Beautiful walled medieval town and spoilt for choice for places to eat and drink
Nice little pool surrounded by decking and a grassy area which was soggy first thing after getting a soaking by the gardener. More sun beds were bought round as the hotel got busier during our stay. For those with children there is a small water park over the way entrance fee of 10 euros for the whole day.
Fab holiday made even better by the staff at the hotel.

First day back and missing Rhodes and Matoula already. We (couple in 40’s) loved Matoula beach. The room was clean and comfortable (we did asked for extra pillows which we got immediately) a little on the small side but big enough for us and we had a double balcony. Kept beautifully clean by cheerful staff too.
What is outstanding about this hotel is the service and the staff. A family run business and you can tell. Everyone from cleaners to receptionist, waiters and the owner who chatted to us at the bar were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. For us ‘Pan’ the barman was the star of the show.
It’s not somewhere to go if you want loud crazy party night entertainment every night but we visited the bar most nights and enjoyed the Greek night they offered. Pan made sure to match the music vibe to the people at the bar and we had some great nights!
The pool is clean a little o the chilly side but fine once you’re in! plenty of greenery to keep you cool on the heat. We had no problem getting sun beds in the shade (although off season). With waitress service for great food and drinks throughout the day.
It is relatively remote in terms of location but if you like exploring it’s fine with local shops providing all you need and nice tavernas to eat in and only a few minutes walk to the beach. For us it was just the balance of peace and quiet (no loud Brit’s abroad type behaviour!) but plenty to do not too far away.
We visited Rhodes old town which is lovely. 3 euro each in the bus and a taxi back cost us 23 euros but worth it for an evening dinner out in a beautiful restaurant (il Giardino - again family run and delicious food) You can walk to Ialysos where there is also a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars, and again a nice beach to enjoy a cocktail at sundown.
We took a day trip to Symi island which was great and very pretty took a swim, it was a little bit for us but a lovely day out all in all.
We would come again. In short we were made to feel so welcome by the Rhodesian’s and the team at Matoula Beach and had the best holiday!

We stayed for 10 nights B&B in August as a family of 5 and we had 2 rooms at opposite ends of the corridor. The hotel and rooms were spotless and all of the staff we met were very lovely, the reception staff were as helpful as they could be. Personally I feel this is more 3* compared to other hotels I have stayed in, the breakfast was limited and towards the end of the stay we ate out at nearby places. No courtesy room or shower other than that by the pool is poor in our opinion. We didn’t want to pay the high prices for food at the pool bar - even though when we did it was delicious! - so bought paper plates and cutlery from a nearby shop so we could eat simple snacks in the room.
The restaurants nearby are all good however the choice is very limited, maybe 5 to choose from, the town of Ialyssos was too far for us to walk in the heat but there is lots more choice there. The water park is €10 for adults and €5 for children with under 5s free including soft drinks all day, my children are 14 and under and loved it.
We would return to Ialyssos but not this hotel as we like to leave the hotel and mooch about a bit, it was a bit too quiet for us in this location.

We just came back from a 14 night stay at Matoula.
We were put in probably the smallest room in the hotel and even though it was just the two of us it was just like an excuse me while you were negotiating the space in The room.
Even though the rooms were refurbished I would say that it was more like a 3* hotel as the fixtures in the room looked tired and were poorly fitted. Not enough storage space for your bits and bobs and we ended up using the top of our suitcase to put things on.
That said, the rooms were spotless and the cleaner was a hard worker and always had a smile on her face and always acknowledged you.
The bar staff were brilliant and a shout out to Ian and Manos (sorry if I got this wrong) as they were always smiling and had a lot of time for you.
As others have mentioned previously the drinks and food are expensive. €5 for a large beer is a lot considering I purchased one in Symi for €3.5 euros overlooking the harbour.
There are a few good restaurants nearby especially Pegasus, rosemary, Aegean fish restaurant and Canton (Chinese fusion) just around the corner on the main road.
It’s worth mentioning Muses in labranda blue bay next door where for €25 per head, you get a 3 course meal including locally produced drinks included during your meal.
€20 per head for the Greek night seemed reasonable at the time but on reflection it cost more fore 4 rounds of drinks than the meal itself. Something to think about.
Being on a flight path was a bit annoying and especially on the weekend as flights were landing early morning from around 4.00 am which always woke me up.
The area is quiet but we knew that before we booked and there is much more going on in the town centre approx 30 mins walk or €2 each by bus.
The breakfast was okay but the quality of the produce was in question as it looked like they were purchased on a low budget. Shame really as we have had much more choice and better quality in other 4* hotels we have stayed in.
Be aware that The pool area had some decking off the main pool but the sun loungers were on grass. This meant that you had muddy areas and the potential for being bitten by insects. Ants were also prevalent in some areas.
Maybe extending the decking may not be such a bad idea.
To summarise
I don’t think that I would come back to this hotel as it was a bit too remote and expensive to eat and drink there.
Overall we did enjoy our Time in Rhodes as the weather was perfect and the people were friendly.

We really had a great time at this family-run hotel! The standard of service is admirable: the room was very clean and all requests were catered for quickly. Very child-friendly :) Tasty breakfasts. A good restaurant and bar at the pool area. An exceptional Greek night when you can taste Greek specialties, listen to the music and even dance some folk dances with enthusiastic soloists. A 5-min walk from the bus line if you would like to explore the historic Rhodes city or the nearest old towns Ialyssos and Kremasti (with its beautiful church Panagia Katholiki). Highly recommended.

What a little gem this hotel turned out to be. Late booking and didn't expect much but all expectations surpassed.
The hotel is modern clean and very well managed. Rooms are modern and very clean maid comes every day to make beds and change the towels. Good bathroom excellent little fridge and comfy beds. Comes with a kettle and TV. No English channels but we don't watch TV anyway. WiFi is good enough to stream videos etc.
Nice bar open until late but not rowdy so a good place to chill. Reasonable prices. Food offering is also very good.
Location wise is a short walk to a stoney beach but the pool area is well kept and plenty of loungers so we preferred to stay there. Few restaurants in walking distance if you want to eat out. But stop up on the main road and 20mins into Rhodes Town which is a must do if you stay here.
Would suggest this is a couple's / family hotel so if you're wanting rowdy drinking till late with dancing and night life probably not for you. It is ideal for single travellers as small and friendly
It is under the incoming flight path so you do get regular planes going over quite low. We liked it as was interesting to see where the planes where coming from.
What makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Can't help you enough and really friendly. You can tell it's a family run hotel and they all take pride in making your stay the best it can be.

Just come back from Matoula beach , family of 4 two daughters 17&19 .
The hotel is run by very friendly hard working ppl, can’t do enough for you. Rooms are spotless, I’ve seen some reviews saying it should be a 5* hotel. It’s never 5* but it is a great little hotel for a family holiday
Now depending what you want is if I woul or wouldn’t book this hotel
If you have young children & want to just stay by the hotel 24/7 than great
But if you want to get out get to the town centre where you have a massive selection of Restaraunt then maybe you should look for a hotel closer by as this hotel is a good 30 minute walk from lalyssos centre
There are a few Restaraunt near buy , maybe 3-4 Rosemaries/ Pegasus being 2 of them that are ok, but compared to lalyssos centre the Restaraunts are not in comparison to the quality .
The Hotel isn’t the cheapest for drink, €5 a pint food not to expensive like €8/9 a Greek salad for example
The food in the hotel is good, breakfast was very good decent selection, the Greek night they have on a Friday food was average quite expensive €80 a family of 4 then you pay for drink on top. For the same money you can eat at a good Restaraunt with much better food
If you have small children a water park is across the road €10 for kids €20 for adults , it is aimed more at kids under 12 I’d say than teenagers as the slides are smaller
Beach is nice but pebbles, yo can buy swimming shoes from the shop around the corner which I think you will need for €7
Go to the left as you get to the beach and the sun beds on the beach are I think part of a hotel called Bayside €4 a day and nice snack bar for snacks & drinks behind it, good value €3 a pint cheapest place as most places are €4
Only down side of this hotel is location, you can walk to centre in 30 minutes if you don’t mind walking but if not it will cost you €10 in a cab which I thought was expensive as you can get a cab to Rhodes town which is 5 times further for €22
Town centre you are spoilt for choice for restaurants and a few nice bars, 2 sports bars face each other, one called Triton as happy hour 7 to 11 on cocktails €4 each which was great considering I was buying 4 a round 🤦🏻♂️
Rhodes town a good night out also but I think lalyssos town as enough choice for anyone
We did do the Lindos boat trip from the Hotel €40 each, pick up at 7:30 taken to Rhodes town straight onto boat with 2 stops to swim in the sea then 3 hours in Lindos beautiful place if you have never been and then brought back, great day out
All in all good hotel great holiday, if you don’t mind walking it’s a yes , if you want to go in town centre but don’t like walking look for something closer

+1
Just returned from a weeks stay at this Hotel. We arrived around 4.30am due to airport delays, the guy on reception was friendly and efficient, our room was classed as a ‘delux’ with garden or pool view (booked with TUI and did find this a little misleading) however the room was extremely clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. Room serviced everyday. (Tip for female guests take a travel hair dryer as the ones in the room take some time)
Hotel itself is lovely, very clean, enough space for all guests, hotel bar and restaurant area are great, pool is ideal, and having the garden’s around the pool is just lovely. So much effort goes into keeping everything clean and tidy and I think it really pays off.
The food at this hotel is just amazing, from breakfast (so much variety) and the restaurant menu is great, we ate in twice and could not fault anything!
Location wise we found was fine for us, we did have a good 25/30 minute walk into lalyssos centre but it was a pleasant walk, there is a taxi stand near the hotel next door or the bus stops just at the top on the main road which is maybe a ten minute walk away, so can easily get into Rhodes centre. We did both bus and taxi, (Personally preferred the taxi as the bus was too busy for my liking, and it was €18)
The best thing about this hotel are the staff, every single member of staff are such a credit to the hotel. It really has the family feel to it, every single member of staff was always smiling, happy, friendly, eager to find out your plans for the day / if you have been out how did you find your day etc. They work incredibly hard with long hours and they just make everyone feel so welcome.
Greek Night on a Friday which is held by the hotel is a must for anyone staying, fantastic night! One of our best nights of the holiday.
You don’t often come across hotels like this anymore and you really don’t come across staff like they have here, it was a absolute pleasure to stay here and I will be recommending to others and would most certainly revisit.

We have just returned from an amazing 2 weeks at the Matoula Beach Hotel. This is a lovely hotel, it is spotlessly clean, modern, comfortable beds and the best air conditioning I’ve had in Greece. The breakfast is good, something for everybody, cooked food, bacon, sausages, eggs, beans etc, meats, cheeses, fruits, cakes croissants and sweet cakes and biscuits. Fresh fruits and salad. The staff are lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily and fresh towels are provided, the cleaning team work tirelessly to ensure the high standards. The gardens are well kept by the hardworking gardener. Swimming pool is cleaned daily. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the beach, a pebble beach but quiet and nice to swim in, there are sunloungers you can hire for €4 per day. The Hotel is within walking distance of several tavernas and supermarkets, it is not in a busy location but lovely if you want a relaxing, peaceful holiday. There is a transfer service from the hotel, to Rhodes town that goes hourly, it costs €8 return. We will definitely be returning and this hotel is definitely worth 4* s, we can’t fault our stay here.
