Me and my boyfriend stayed at Matoula beach at the beginning of September, we are both 21 and this was our first holiday together! We loved it!! Cannot fault the staff especially Ian and Manos, easy to chat to and extremely helpful with figuring out your surroundings and the best places to visit, Ian also whips up a good cocktail! The hotel was very relaxed and chilled which was a nice break from being in England! We came Half Board, but I would probably only recommend coming bed and breakfast, there were never many people at dinner. There’s a few restaurants within walking distance to the hotel and the centre of Lalyssos is a 5 minute bus ride only costing €2 each or €3 for an extra 10 minutes into Rhodes where there are plenty or restaurants with all cuisines ! We never had any issues with the busses and always got a seat :) don’t get me wrong the dinner was nice at the hotel and the options changed each night there just wasn’t much atmosphere :( breakfast was always busy and again some of the things changed each day :) Definitely go to the Greek night!!! We loved it ! The food was lovely and the live music was amazing! They get everyone involved dancing around the bar not sure any of us were very good at it mind ahha :) Also watching the sunset on the beach is a MUST it is beautiful! All in all if your looking for a nice relaxed, chilled out holiday sitting by the pool having some cocktails this is a great place to go! Everyone is so friendly and made our holiday one to remember🥰 Thank you everyone at Matoula Beach!

We just came back from a 14 night stay at Matoula. We were put in probably the smallest room in the hotel and even though it was just the two of us it was just like an excuse me while you were negotiating the space in The room. Even though the rooms were refurbished I would say that it was more like a 3* hotel as the fixtures in the room looked tired and were poorly fitted. Not enough storage space for your bits and bobs and we ended up using the top of our suitcase to put things on. That said, the rooms were spotless and the cleaner was a hard worker and always had a smile on her face and always acknowledged you. The bar staff were brilliant and a shout out to Ian and Manos (sorry if I got this wrong) as they were always smiling and had a lot of time for you. As others have mentioned previously the drinks and food are expensive. €5 for a large beer is a lot considering I purchased one in Symi for €3.5 euros overlooking the harbour. There are a few good restaurants nearby especially Pegasus, rosemary, Aegean fish restaurant and Canton (Chinese fusion) just around the corner on the main road. It’s worth mentioning Muses in labranda blue bay next door where for €25 per head, you get a 3 course meal including locally produced drinks included during your meal. €20 per head for the Greek night seemed reasonable at the time but on reflection it cost more fore 4 rounds of drinks than the meal itself. Something to think about. Being on a flight path was a bit annoying and especially on the weekend as flights were landing early morning from around 4.00 am which always woke me up. The area is quiet but we knew that before we booked and there is much more going on in the town centre approx 30 mins walk or €2 each by bus. The breakfast was okay but the quality of the produce was in question as it looked like they were purchased on a low budget. Shame really as we have had much more choice and better quality in other 4* hotels we have stayed in. Be aware that The pool area had some decking off the main pool but the sun loungers were on grass. This meant that you had muddy areas and the potential for being bitten by insects. Ants were also prevalent in some areas. Maybe extending the decking may not be such a bad idea. To summarise I don’t think that I would come back to this hotel as it was a bit too remote and expensive to eat and drink there. Overall we did enjoy our Time in Rhodes as the weather was perfect and the people were friendly.

We stayed for 10 nights B&B in August as a family of 5 and we had 2 rooms at opposite ends of the corridor. The hotel and rooms were spotless and all of the staff we met were very lovely, the reception staff were as helpful as they could be. Personally I feel this is more 3* compared to other hotels I have stayed in, the breakfast was limited and towards the end of the stay we ate out at nearby places. No courtesy room or shower other than that by the pool is poor in our opinion. We didn’t want to pay the high prices for food at the pool bar - even though when we did it was delicious! - so bought paper plates and cutlery from a nearby shop so we could eat simple snacks in the room. The restaurants nearby are all good however the choice is very limited, maybe 5 to choose from, the town of Ialyssos was too far for us to walk in the heat but there is lots more choice there. The water park is €10 for adults and €5 for children with under 5s free including soft drinks all day, my children are 14 and under and loved it. We would return to Ialyssos but not this hotel as we like to leave the hotel and mooch about a bit, it was a bit too quiet for us in this location.

We went to Rhodes and stayed at the Matoula Beach Hotel in Lalysos for 10 Days Bed & Breakfast. We had read reviews before we went and what a fabulous Hotel it was. The rooms are spotless the staff are extremely professional and friendly and the food was good. Excellent value with the beach and amenities all within a few minutes walk. We were delayed for 17 hours and the staff at the hotel ensured we had a room which was wonderful. Tina and I would highly reccomend for a quiet family or couples holiday. Thanks to all the staff at the Hotel and hope to see you next September

Just come back from Matoula beach , family of 4 two daughters 17&19 . The hotel is run by very friendly hard working ppl, can’t do enough for you. Rooms are spotless, I’ve seen some reviews saying it should be a 5* hotel. It’s never 5* but it is a great little hotel for a family holiday Now depending what you want is if I woul or wouldn’t book this hotel If you have young children & want to just stay by the hotel 24/7 than great But if you want to get out get to the town centre where you have a massive selection of Restaraunt then maybe you should look for a hotel closer by as this hotel is a good 30 minute walk from lalyssos centre There are a few Restaraunt near buy , maybe 3-4 Rosemaries/ Pegasus being 2 of them that are ok, but compared to lalyssos centre the Restaraunts are not in comparison to the quality . The Hotel isn’t the cheapest for drink, €5 a pint food not to expensive like €8/9 a Greek salad for example The food in the hotel is good, breakfast was very good decent selection, the Greek night they have on a Friday food was average quite expensive €80 a family of 4 then you pay for drink on top. For the same money you can eat at a good Restaraunt with much better food If you have small children a water park is across the road €10 for kids €20 for adults , it is aimed more at kids under 12 I’d say than teenagers as the slides are smaller Beach is nice but pebbles, yo can buy swimming shoes from the shop around the corner which I think you will need for €7 Go to the left as you get to the beach and the sun beds on the beach are I think part of a hotel called Bayside €4 a day and nice snack bar for snacks & drinks behind it, good value €3 a pint cheapest place as most places are €4 Only down side of this hotel is location, you can walk to centre in 30 minutes if you don’t mind walking but if not it will cost you €10 in a cab which I thought was expensive as you can get a cab to Rhodes town which is 5 times further for €22 Town centre you are spoilt for choice for restaurants and a few nice bars, 2 sports bars face each other, one called Triton as happy hour 7 to 11 on cocktails €4 each which was great considering I was buying 4 a round 🤦🏻‍♂️ Rhodes town a good night out also but I think lalyssos town as enough choice for anyone We did do the Lindos boat trip from the Hotel €40 each, pick up at 7:30 taken to Rhodes town straight onto boat with 2 stops to swim in the sea then 3 hours in Lindos beautiful place if you have never been and then brought back, great day out All in all good hotel great holiday, if you don’t mind walking it’s a yes , if you want to go in town centre but don’t like walking look for something closer

Stayed for two weeks bed and breakfast, probably one of the cleanest hotels we’ve ever been to. My only complaint is the sun beds could do with updating, not good if you have a bad back like me. Food from the menu was very nice especially the club sandwich, very friendly staff, not much to do around the hotel but we got a bus into Rhodes a few times, very easy, Ian on the bar is very helpful with information on things to do.

What can we say other than it’s been amazing! From arrival at 12:30am being welcomed by a lovely man on the desk, bar still open to grab a drink of the days travel. We were greeted at the bar by a huge smile from Panos, always smiling and laughing! Lovely man! The following morning down to breakfast, calm and plentiful. Most things you could wish for! Hot, cold, pastries, cereals etc. We met Manos for the first time who introduced himself and made us feel at home immediately. Pool is great, relaxed, tidy clean etc. waitress and bar staff at the pool Bar / restaurant are all absolutely lovely. Lillian is possibly one of the nicest women we have ever met! Very natural host and great with the kids! A pleasure to be around every time we were there! Atmosphere at the hotel is extremely relaxed, the staff are all amazing and can’t do enough for you. Nothing seems to be a problem regardless of who you ask. The cleaners do an amazing job, rooms cleaned daily, towels changed daily sheets every 3 days. Great job done every day and with a smile! Honestly can’t speak highly enough of the place. Already booking for next year!

Spent 11 days at Matoula Beach Hotel recently. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the pool. Our room was spacious and very clean. All the staff are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. Yes the hotel is on the landing flight path but you get used to it and it's quite interesting. There were enough sunbeds for everyone to have one around the pool area at any time of the day. After 10 days the breakfast got a bit boring (just one suggestion, take your own tea bags with you, the Lipton ones are soooo weak!) The bar staff are great, remember what drinks you have. The Greek night at 20 Euros each was fabulous, food was great and plentiful and then you get up and do some Greek dancing! If you want to sit around the pool all day and not visit anywhere it's the perfect hotel. There is small waterpark at the hotel next door, 10 Euros per Adult and 5 Euros for children per day. If you want to get around the island a bit, you will need to hire a car. There is a company over the road called Superior Cars - they are brilliant and you can book online before you go. Otherwise it's about a 10 minute walk up to the main road to catch the bus. To get into Rhodes Town it is 3 Euros each and takes about half an hour, usually standing up!! The beach is a 5 minute walk away, but you will need beach shoes as it is a mixture of sand, stones and shingle. The sea can get quite rough but you are still able to swim. There are some water sports nearby, our boys did windsurfing, 2 boys and 1 tutor was 80 Euros for a full hour. We were B&B. The hotel do a bar menu during the day and night and is very nice. We also went up the road (4 mins walk turn left out the hotel) to Pegasus restaurant and if you turn right there is Billy's Bar which is reasonably priced and the kids enjoyed it. If you walk up to the main road there is a nice Chinese, expensive but lovely. One thing you must do whilst there, go the beach and watch the sunset, it is amazing. All in all a very nice hotel and would return.

We stayed for 10 days at Matoula Beach in Aug 2022, The hotel is very nice, with a neat and tidy Lobby area, Pool, bar and Restaurant area, The staff are lovely, Very pleasant and as others have alluded to, can't do enough for you. We stayed Bed & Breakfast, the food options were plenty and varied with parts of the breakfast daily but the majority likes Eggs bacon etc was the same, did get abit bored towards the end with the selection but that was my own personal opinion. Our room was 230 which was very small Maisonette room at the end of the older part of the hotel, the pictures on the website didnt reflect what we thought we were getting, there were only 3 plug sockets (Excluding the Fridge) definitely could do with a few more. The bathroom could use an update too, its tiny, the door literally kisses he toilet as you open it. the view was also not the best for us, facing the back of the hotel, so no Sea, Pool or garden view but car park view with a bit of hills in the distance. The Hotel is on the landing path for the Planes and they go over quite a bit but me personally i find it fascinating and didnt bother me at all. The crickets i barely noticed and the Dogs that bark are very few and far between, Cockerels can be heard too but again didnt bother us much. All in All we have a lovely stay and would stay again but probably won't as the area is a bit far from anything and unless you want to get taxis and buses etc you'd be walking around alot in the heat.
