Hotel in general is quiet big, very clean and the staff are all very hard working, polite and wear masks too. What I find bizarre is that only the absolute minority of the guests wore masks indoor though even in crowded areas such as the lifts or dinner hall where 100s of people are roaming around, alot whom are unvaccinated too obviously! Doesn't concern the hotel staff one bit yet they ask people to wear gloves when taking food at the buffet counters. Rooms are spacious enough, cleaned daily and has all your basics except an iron. minibar is replenished daily too. However the bed linen does smell damp even though they are washed daily. Don't forget to book the restaurants when you get there, the fish grill 6 course meal was delicious and I'd say your paying over €100 per couple if your having that at a restaurant so well worth it! We weren't a huge fan of the Italian one but the Greek one was ok and we didn't book the Chinese one as the menu wasn't appealing for us. The main Buffet food has a huge selection, mainly Greek, Italian, Chinese and English food. Poolside food is spot on! Good variety across the bars and they're stone baked pizzas are delicious!! Main beer is Zythos, slightly watered down but not bad tasting and better in the evening in the upstairs bar as they serve it in a glass! Amazing view of the sunset too if you manage to get a seat in the evening outside bar! cocktails are ok with some commercial branded spirits too but the wine is not great, taste very cheap! There are 3 pools and the main one is where the entertainment is at. Decent enough music, entertainment from Marty,Rio & team is repetitive but pretty good! the aerobic fitness daily class is good fun! You need to put your towels down before 8am to get a decent spot though inc the aluminium sunbeds, believe me you don't want the wooden ones, they're uncomfortable after a few hours! The gym is quiet small and needs more maintenance, not to mention they only alow 5 people in max after a certain time but if you get yourself down there before 8.30ish you'll be fine. Location is only a 15mins from the airport. 5mins walk from the hotel will get you to all the local supermarkets and a further 10mins to all thr sports bars and restaurants, nice walk in the evening. Its also a 5mins walk to the bus stop to get to Old Town which is well worth the trip. Booked a boat excursion to Lindos. Lovely area, nice beach, nice shops, restaurants and bars and a really nice walk through the town but the boat journey is 2.5-3hrs e/w and we spent 3hrs in Lindos so unsure if it was really worth it. Overall, a good solid hotel and with some tweaks could easily push up to 5* in the future!

We checked in about an hour ago to be told our room had been given away,. However, we were told that we’d been given an upgrade, which was a complete lie. Despite paying for a sea view we were happy to forgo the sea view for a suite, which is what we had been told we had. However, the room we had been given wasn’t a suite, it was a downgraded room with a mountain view. 4 visits to reception because of issues with the temporary room and several lengthy discussions , we now have to spend half of our first day moving rooms. No one at reception could care less and they were clearly confused why we would be unhappy about wasting our first day because of their incompetence. The most frustrating thing is that we were clearly lied to and absolutely no attempt was made to try to pacify us by actually offering an upgraded room. I’m sure there are better 5* hotels in Rhodes and I’m starting to wish we had booked one!

Akti Imperial may just about be a 4 star hotel but only just, first the positives This was a long awaited get away with my wife, we also invited our two grown up sons and their girlfriends for a week away, first impressions of the hotel was the size, if you don't like big hotels this isn't the one for you because this is a big hotel. We arrived late on an evening and we greeted by very friendly staff at the reception, shown to our room and looked forward to seeing what this complex had the offer in the morning, a bit frustrated when I opened the curtaining the following morning at around 8.00am to find nearly all the sunbeds around the three pools had all been reserved by guests leaving their towels on the sunbeds, I know that I read that reserving sunbeds wouldn't be tolerated and despite numerous sings around the hotel saying this it was totally ignored, be aware unless you enjoy getting up early and putting down your towel you wont get a sunbed (in the sun) around the pools. The pool area has two different types of sun lounger, modern aluminum type sunbeds which are very comfortable and a lot of order type wooden sunbeds which are awful and very uncomfortable to sit on, the newer type chairs were normally reserved by 6.00am in the morning. The pool area was very nice however cramped, shade was always at a premium during the day however this wasn't really a problem. The beach area, sunbeds, shower facilities are looking old, there is an old rickety wood platform which helps you walk across the pebble beach however like I said this is getting old and very worn. All the bars are good and they encourage you to order drinks from the tables rather than wait at the bar area, this is OK when its not busy but when we were there it was busy so you may have to wait a good few minutes to get a drink. Food all round was very good, clean, hot and a very good selection, I cannot criticize the food at all it was good. The general area around the hotel was pretty quiet which suited us, we ate out 4 nights in local tavernas which was good but there is very little nightlife which was good for us but not so good for our sons & girlfriends. The biggest downfall I can tell you all about this hotel is the elevator situation, I think there are perhaps 10 floors and three sections of the hotel which all require separate elevators, as there are no posted stair ways you can be waiting a good 10 minutes for an elevator, after the second day of our arrival the cleaners showed us an unmarked stairway which we used for the remainder of our holiday, too many guest and no where near enough elevators. Overall not a bad hotel for a weeks stay, upon reflection had I known this hotel was as big as it is I would have looked for perhaps a smaller family run hotel
