The Akti Imperial Deluxe Resort & Spa Dolce by Wyndham garners praise for its friendly service and convenient location near beaches and Rhodes Town. While the hotel's cleanliness generally meets guests' expectations, some have noted issues with towels and pool towel availability. Despite offering a wealth of amenities, including dining and pool options, opinions vary on their value and quality. Rooms are criticized for being cramped and occasionally noisy, which, combined with mixed feedback on the atmosphere, suggests a varied experience for visitors.

Family holiday, close to the beach, great location, generally the staff were friendly apart from the reception staff. Food of a very high standard with a good choice, hot plates and food served hot and replenished regularly. Rooms clean, towels replaced every day. Spa treatments were very good with really lovely staff. The 3 main issues that let the hotel down were, drinks served in paper cups for beer, wine , prosecco, spirits and cocktail's, really not enjoyable. Acrylic cups would have helped to make the drinks more acceptable, reusable and cost effective. Understand that glasses are not the best option when drinking around the pool and beach, but paper cups spoil the taste. Of an evening again still paper cups in the outside bar. one bar provided glasses only then to find an hour before closing, paper cups again were provided. Considering it a hotel that is part of the Wyndham group we would have expected more. The air conditioning was not fit for purpose, due to the humidity, the lifts were appalling, one was out of use for our stay, they were consistently breaking down, were old, small and could not cope with the capacity of foot fall, considering the size of the hotel. A times having to wait up to 15 minutes to gain access and then worrying about the risk of getting stuck in it! No clear signs to indicate accessibility to the stairs, when they were found they were dirty, dark and more like a fire escape, just want o add you would not want to use in an emergency. For a big hotel group it was very disappointing. The airport and other hotels coped with humidity and their aircon was working fine!!!

Dear K7567SHtonyc Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed review of your recent stay with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location, proximity to the beach, high standard of food, cleanliness of the rooms, and the friendly service provided by our spa and general staff. Your kind words mean a lot to us as we strive to offer a welcoming and comfortable experience for all our guests. We appreciate your constructive feedback on the issues that you encountered during your stay. Regarding the use of paper cups for drinks, we understand that this was a disappointment, especially as it impacted your enjoyment of beverages. While the safety of our guests near the pool and beach is our top priority, we agree that a more appealing and sustainable option, such as acrylic cups, could improve the experience, and we will certainly review this matter. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide a stay that better meets your expectations. Best regards, Stella Chatikonstantinou Guest Relations Manager

We are just coming to the end of a 10 day family holiday at the Akti Imperial Hotel in Rhodes. I don’t normally write reviews but felt obliged to as we almost cancelled the holiday on the basis of some of the recent negative reviews on this site.

Our room appears to be freshly renovated in a modern style with fancy LED lighting. We have a sea view, which gives fantastic views out to Marmaris in Turkey and the balcony is of very generous proportions. There is a mini bar in the room which is restocked every day with beer, wine, soft drinks and water. My only slight grumble is that the air conditioning could have done with being a couple of degrees cooler.

The hotel itself is nicely decorated, clean and fresh. The facilities are decent- the gym is fairly well equipped and caters for all but the most hard core fitness fanatics. The pools are nice and the surrounding grounds are immaculately maintained. There is a coffee bar which does nice drinks and serves a lovely shaded terrace. There is an underpass to the beach, providing easy access. The beach itself is stony, but the water is warm and clean. The beach bar serves cold drinks and has shade. Staff are genuinely friendly and helpful as are all of the locals… which is refreshing as on our last couple of holidays to Turkey and Spain, this has not been the case, with rudeness and the feeling that they are trying to extract as much money from you as possible!

The hotel is a couple of miles from Rhodes Town. You can walk there in 40 mins along the beach, pay a couple of Euros each to get the bus there from outside the hotel, or pay 12.50 euro for a cab. The old town is well worth a visit by day and night.

The pool can get crowded, but no worse than any other all inclusive that I have ever been to. I like the fact that the lifeguard walks around and removes towels from sun beds that have been unattended for over an hour. There is a pool bar that also serves hot food to a decent standard- we have particularly enjoyed the gyros. If for any reason you can’t get a spot immediately by the pool, there are always spare sun beds with shade on the beach.

There is a wide variety of food to choose from in the main restaurant and no excessive queuing. There was no hint of the sickness bug mentioned in other reviews (the reason why we nearly cancelled)! There are also a several speciality restaurants with fixed menus that can be booked at reception.

Our children are teenagers, but there appeared to be nightly children’s entertainment at the poolside stage, catering for younger kids and at the opposite end of the site, nightly bands as an alternative (of varying standards).

Overall we have had a fantastic stay, will definitely return to Rhodes, and will strongly consider staying at the Akti Imperial.

Top flight with Tui Fly from Eindhoven. Transfer hotel about half an hour from Rhodes airport.
Beautiful hotel right on the beach with a tunnel under a busier road to the hotel beach with sunbeds and parasols and a drink at the beach bar. Pebble beach to get into the water, so water shoes are a 100% must.
Elevators here are organized so that only specific elevators could go to certain floors.
8th floor and didn't experience any real waiting times (and it's also holiday mode, no rush no rush).
Excellent beds (important for my back), plenty of hanging/laying space for clothes, beautiful view of the sea, safe in the room was on the floor of the cupboard (you can put your laptop in it). Walk-in shower with rain shower is fine, but the water runs outside the shower towards the toilet (place a roll-mops towel against a flat shower tray without an edge and then mop up the water with another towel, return to a dry bathroom and do not disturb it again).
Wifi worked well on our laptop so I could follow the online live broadcast match in the evening without any problem
Not much to do around the hotel itself.
About 10 minutes from Rhodes center by taxi. From the hotel 12.50 and if you walk across the street there is a taxi stand for 9 euros and ten euros back. If you can coordinate in advance with another couple (or on-site taxi stop), you can go with 4 for 10 euros,
because buses pass by packed (experienced) and cost about 3 euros per person (but I was not able to check myself)
Friendly and helpful staff everywhere in the hotel.
Varied food, with all inclusive you always have dishes that repeat themselves, but you also share them differently every day. Reservations are also required in these theme restaurants, but they quickly fill up and you often have to make reservations for specific restaurants 4 to 5 days in advance. Within an hour you get 6 courses. It wasn't too bad, but personally I thought the buffet restaurant was better.
Lunch was disappointing at the pool, gyros, spaghetti, pizza with some side dishes, the same every day and for the first time ever, I chose to enjoy it in the buffet restaurants in the afternoon.
The pools are nice and clean, but terribly slippery. Both the stairs to enter the water and the tiles around it.
Many people place towels on beds at the pool very early. No control over this even though the hotel does not allow this.
Queuing in the morning between 10am and 11am and not enough towels for everyone. As a result, people did not hand in their towels and the problem became worse.
They could provide a towel for the new guests upon arrival on the first day.
And a change card would also be useful to check their stock.
Entertainment team was not active in the evening (except once), there were external groups of live music (at 2 locations), we did not experience the entertainment team during the day so cannot say anything about this.
Personally, I found this to be the least of the evening activities in 20 years at such better resorts, so if there is not much to do outside the hotel, this is a disappointment.

An honest review stayed here 10 nights a lovely welcome had luggage taken to room welcome drinks all very positive. Room small for 2 adults and a teenager but nice enough paid for sea view definitely worth it beautiful scenery bath towels very grey but room clean air conditioning very hit and miss and bad smell coming from it. I did report it but nothing changed. Negative way too many people for the pool area not enough sun befs or parasols get up early 7am for sun lounger by pool. Food ok for all inclusive very repetitive and meal times became too busy just like a shopping center. Not over friendly staff they work hard but dont look happy. Spa very expensive and pushy trying to sell you treatments did have 2 facials not worth £130 euros !! only did as a birthday treat. 2 of our family members had sickness definitely something is going on as many others had it or we had spoken to. We did trips old town lovely and went to hotel beach as quiter and could get loungers. I would definitely go to Rhodes again but not this hotel its not 5 star.

The facility is hopeless, I warn everyone, it will be the worst holiday you have ever been on! They got 5 stars out of which they paid for 3 of them🤣 Elevators without air conditioning and air vents, 3 of them worked, 2 of them worked... The deckchairs are terrible, as if they were 20 years old, the towels they provide for guests are laughable, I have better floor cloths. Only the kitchen is defending itself. Very noisy in the facility, constant animations around the pools and drama. In the bathroom there is a magical grate on the floor from which the sewage leaks out when you take a shower and the entire bathroom is in water....5 stars🤣 Finally, the topic of the river, bars and waiter service. The Greek bar is open until 24 at 11:30 p.m. The bartender cleans everything and serves guests with great grace. The hit in this place was the visit of the waiter who came with a paper cup so that I could pour a drink from the glass because they had to wash the dishes. 23:30 top of the peaks and there are more of them. Main lobby bar for waiters you are transparent unless you are 20 something years old, from England or Germany and you are a woman 30 sec. and you get whatever you want. Strange system, you can't order at the bar until 24 hours, you have to wait for the waiter for up to 20 minutes. Maybe he will find you🤣 24 cardboard cups in a 5-star hotel. I have been going on holiday with my wife for over a dozen years and I have never seen anything like this. I do not recommend this pseudo 5 star hotel. On the plus side, the location is 10 minutes max and you can see the Rhodes island, but that doesn't defend the hotel and all the shortcomings that are not worthy of a supposedly 5-star hotel that didn't even rank at 3. I strongly advise against it and these oohs and aahs are either paid for or these people haven't been anywhere and haven't seen anything.

Hotel: very clean, large, access to beach via underpass, lifts are segregated into different floors to avoid queues but morning times can be busy. Large lobby and sun terrace, fish spa, massage and spa facilities, jewellers, mini mart (pricier than off site) and clothing shop.

Food and drink: lots of places to eat (main restaurant, 2 pool bars, 5 specialised restaurants( to pre book) and sports bar. Lobby bar x2. Mini fridge topped up every day (fizzy pop, wine, water and juice). We tried Italian, Greek and fish&meat which were all great. Lots of choice but not much kids choice in main restaurant better in pool bars

Pools: adults only, kids pool and 2 main pools segregated by a slide. Sun beds reserved mostly by 8:30 in morning. Lots of pool games and entertainment throughout the day with background music

Mini club: the actual club has balls, a slide and puzzles (most are missing pieces). There are supposed to be themed activities on every day but mini club rep is very disinterested and not enthusiastic.

Room: we booked a standard room 2 adults one child very small and and not much cupboard / wardrobe space. The cleaners don’t clean the floor as our feet were black most days and they don’t change the sheets, just make the bed. Other than provide towels they don’t do a great job. We booked a side sea view room which was probably better than expected as ive heard a lot of people have a lot of music / noise from full sea view rooms. Air con- don’t put it on 0 put it on 10 as we found this towards end of holiday it works much better, its centrally controlled not a proper air conditioned unit for a 5 star hotel this was a downfall. It’s blasted in the entrance of main restaurant but not in lobby.

Overall this hotel is right on the beach it’s a €10 taxi to Rhodes old town. There is not much to do outside of the hotel a few bars and restaurants and mini marts. No kids playground or entertainment on.
It’s a 20 min walk into ixia where there are a few bigger supermarkets and more restaurants / bars. 20 minute transfer from airport. We booked symi island trip outside of the hotel not with the reps as it was a considerable amount cheaper.

We stayed here for 10 nights beginning of May and I’ve got to say we were not disappointed! Travelled as a family of 6 with my disabled mum and 3 children (17,12&4) and we had a fab time.
The staff will go above and beyond to help in any way they can and the entertainment team were amazing.
We had no issues with food and with 3 fussy eaters managed fine. We didn’t book the a la carte restaurants and after a week the food did get a bit repetitive so we did eat out a couple of times (personal preference). The wood fire pizzas were the main hit for us, incredible.
Evening entertainment was good with mini disco, award ceremonies and then music/magic/dancing.
Loads of activities during the day too, the entertainment team really don’t stop!
Beach bar is a lovely touch and we never had any issues getting dinners as a family of 6 so unsure what the moaning is about regarding that.
There was a conference on over one weekend when we were there however it didn’t overrun the hotel or bother us in the slightest.
Mini market on site is expensive there’s one a five minute walk along the front that is much cheaper if there’s anything you need/want. Taxis into town are all so cheaper from taxi rank on the front opposite hotel.
Minibar restocked daily, we asked for more of some things and less of others which wasn’t an issue and rooms always cleaned daily. Worth paying for a sea view in my opinion, sunsets are unreal!
Overall we had a brilliant time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
Thanks again to all the wonderful people at Akti who do everything to make your stay as amazing as possible! Even made my 4 year old a birthday cake and sang to him on his birthday 😊

We arrived weds night checked so quickly that was great room tidy everything you need you have a fridge that is stocked daily with wine beers and soft drinks lovely, we paid for a Seaview we certainly got it 👍 In the morning went for breakfast large area lots to choose but felt very busy as its a large hotel biggest we've ever stayed in but caters for all needs . We would say therearelotsof areas to explore. All I would say is its not 5star but maybe 3/4 as its tired around the pool area as chairs sunbeds maybe In need of replacing. Lots pools snacks and drinks available they do have a few branded drinks like baileys, smirnoff, bicardi and malibu etc so lucky there .We haven't really notice really any outstanding service from the staff apart the top bar where there's a nice terrace to look out and see the view, sorry to say alot of colleagues don't seem to interact but can't really blame them as they have to deal with us lot but a select few smile which helps alot to make you feel welcome. Beautiful view out to sea Beautiful sunsets but would say maybe not again for us to say in the future we don't feel a wow factor which is a shame .Also not lots of toilets for a massive hotel and the lifts can take time going g between the floors .Overall we think interacting with your guests more would make all the difference.

After reading reviews before we arrived I was dubious . However we were not disappointed. Check in was quick and simple , had emailed to upgrade to a sea view room which we did not get however this wasn’t an issue as our side view room was perfect
Room not very big however lovely double bed which was so comfortable and lovely bathroom with shower
Mini bar in room stocked daily and everything free
Tea and coffee making facilities in room also
Clean towels and room cleaned daily
There a a couple of pools , we chose the adults only pool which is quieter and somewhat more classy with comfortable sun loungers , the other pool at the other end was more lively and busy , this is why I felt like this let the hotel down . Shouting and loud music all day long, was like something out of an episode of Benidorm ! We stayed out of the way and had a much pleasant time . Pool boy decided when and whose towels he would remove when people reserved beds , so be pre warned . Pool towels can only be received on a morning between 10-11 . Again not 5*
Food was always sufficient, enough choice for everyone even if a fussy eater
Drinks were ok.
Beach was a little run down and beach bar for hotel lacked choice etc Sun-beds on beach need replacing
Be warned Spa staff always on the hunt for customers around the pool
Weather was hot but very breezy which was nice !
Staff were a little rude and did not interact however this did not bother me :)
Few restaurants and shops in walking distance for a change of scenery! Taxi into Rhodes town €12 worth a trip in and only takes approx 10 mins
Close to airport so transfer is quick, Taxi def the best option !

Mediocre hotel check-in is very messy and unclear. The room is on the small side but there is some storage space. A room with a sea view has a very nice view of the sea and the beach. The room itself is no longer in the best condition. The door was damaged as if someone had tried to kick it in and there is a small crack in the mirror. In the bathroom you can see from the taps that they have been cleaned precisely with a dirty cloth. In the shower there is also some limescale on the shower. In addition, you can only flush the toilet halfway, the other flush system does not work. If you want to sleep you have to put a pillow at the door, otherwise you can't sleep because the light in the hallway shines through underneath. The minibar also runs loudly, which also disturbs your sleep. The breakfast is good, you can have breakfast indoors and outdoors with a wide choice of different hot and cold products. For dinner there is also a very wide choice of different dishes: Asian, Italian, local, vegan and vegetarian in buffet form. the first evenings there was a nice daily variation, but the last 3 evenings we almost constantly got the same thing, which is a shame. There are several swimming pools with plenty of sun loungers, so you will always find a place. The swimming pools are clean and clearly maintained. A major drawback is that it is apparently very difficult to obtain towels. These are almost always gone or you have to wait an hour to an hour and a half for fresh towels. quite strange when you know that there are several swimming pools in the hotel. We did not use the entertainment, but there were various activities for both young and old. there was another incident at breakfast where the oranges on our plate had worms in them. We reported this to the manager and it was immediately taken away and resolved. During our stay, one of the two elevators was also broken and it took about 4 days before it was repaired, resulting in constant long queues at the elevator. Considering all the facilities and swimming pools, this hotel would deserve 4 stars, but due to the sometimes poor condition and mediocre service, this hotel is only worth 3 stars. It certainly isn't 5 stars. We won't be coming back here again. I would like to give another tip: a luggage room that is not locked and not guarded does not feel safe to leave your luggage. Especially when you know that everyone can walk in and out freely.
