Insects on the floor of the room... Very bad musty smell. Old bath. Breakfast very poor and cheap . Also they charge me the Greek coffee!!!! The staff at breakfast very noisy and annoying. The location is at in the center.
Been here on three trips, loved it, then not so much, now back to thinking it a gem. Staff was courteous , breakfast okay, location about perfect. Nothing sensational here, but everything comfortable and friendly. Good prices, nice stop...
The location is very good and in a central place. Very close to Elli Beach in the city centre, Old Town and city bus stop. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The room is big enough. It has a large wardrobe and drawers on either side of the beds. You can fit your belongings comfortably. Sheets and towels are clean. Balcony is also sufficient. While most hotels' showers are only curtained, here's a shower cabin. The breakfast options are more than enough. The bar part looked nice but we didn't hang out there. There are already markets, bars, etc. around. There is also a pharmacy right next to it. By the way, they also help with renting a car. I definitely recommend it.
I checked into hotel friendly welcoming receptionist made to feel welcome, then went to the rooms beautiful nice comfy bed,air conditioning, power shower, large wardrobe space, and fridge cannot fault anything at all, plenty choice for breakfast to from hot to continental nice ambience,so in total I would stay again very happy to great service, plus the chambermaid cleans room every day happy times 😊😊😊🥰🥰🥰
I took a taxi from the Rhodes airport to the hotel. I was told at reception that my room would be ready in an hour. I was told I could leave my suitcase there in the lobby if I wanted to leave during that time. I went around the corner to grab something to eat and came back at which point I was told I could check in. I was put in room 305. The hallways are not air conditioned so they are very stuffy and also very dark. There was a smell of stale smoke. I entered room 305 and began to unpack. As I was unpacking I noticed that the room was very old and run down. It did not look like the room I had reserved on the website. I found several hairs which is my ultimate pet peeve. I turned on the air con and the unit was rattling the entire time. A lamp in the room had what I assume to be mold on the shade. After a few minutes I went to put my money, passport, etc in the safe (again per the website each room has a safe). I could not find it so I went to the phone to call reception to ask where it was. When I reached for the phone I noticed it was very old and had unwrapped wires sticking out of the receiver. When I told reception that I could not find the safe she said that not all rooms have one. I said I would need to be moved to a room with a safe since according to the website I would be provided with one. She said they were full and that I could leave my valuables in the hotel safe downstairs. This is where I started to get frustrated. I was booked for 5 nights at a rate of 101 euros per night. This was not a cheap hotel or a hostel. There was no way I was going to leave my passport, COVID vaccine card, credit cards and over 1,000 dollars in various currencies in a communal safe. I told the receptionist this and said that this was not going to work out for me, not only was the room run down and dirty but there was no safe. I said I was looking online as we spoke for another hotel. At that point another woman came on the phone and told me she would show me another room. This was after being told they were booked solid. I was taken to room 108 and asked if that room would do. It looked a bit less run down and had a safe. At this point I said it was fine because I just wanted to get unpacked and settled. It was also confusing because the room was "non smoking" but there was an ash tray in room 108. That could account for the stale smoke smell in the halls. I was concerned that if I did try to cancel the entire reservation due to the last minute notice I would be charged the full amount. Due to COVID I let them know I did not need housekeeping during my stay. I did run into the very nice cleaning lady in the hall a couple of times and she gave me 2 fresh towels. She let me know if I needed anything to let her know. After three nights I woke up to two small cockroaches in the bathroom. I will say that the location of the hotel is excellent. You can walk to the harbor area in minutes as well as Elli Beach. There are also good restaurants close by. I do see that many people give this hotel a high rating. I do not know if it is because I am a solo traveler they thought they could try to put me in the first room and I wouldn't complain. Perhaps I just had a bad initial experience. I did appreciate them putting me in another room, however, the first room should not have been given to a guest in the state it is in. I would not stay there again.…
Rhodes wasn’t on my original island-hopping itinerary, so I booked Lydia Hotel at the last minute after deciding to stay in Rhodes Town for 3 nights. It was a long walk from the ferry port, longer than I’d anticipated (close to 30 minutes, suitcase in tow), but check-in was fast and the room was pretty nice with a modern bathroom, spacious shower and comfortable bed. The location turned out to be ideal: just 20 minutes walk to the ancient ruins to the west and 5-10 minutes to the old town. Elli beach is about 5-10 minutes northeast and there are plenty of shops and tavernas all around. Breakfast was reasonable, though nothing special, the hotel does have a nice terrace where you can eat. Overall, I had a nice stay here and if you’re looking for a decent hotel in a good location for sightseeing, I would recommend it. The only thing stopping it getting 5 stars was the breakfast really.…
My wife and I stayed at this hotel in March 2021 (during lockdown) in order for her to undergo an operation at the island's hospital. The hotel itself is ideally situated in the middle of town close to all amenities. The room was clean, spacious and comfy. And for the first time in many years, I found a place where the water is always hot, so you can be confident of a good shower. Although the lockdown meant a restriction in the usual meal/refreshment services, the hotel worked around it very well, and were flexible in their determination to make our stay as stress-free as possible. The staff were friendly and polite, and always keen to help. A most memorable stay.
The premises are excellent and the staff very friendly and willing to help. Although we stayed for 1 night we were treated as long time customers. The only thing that personally didn't like was the small variety of breakfast BUT this I suppose is due to covid.
Lydia Hotel is a family-run business and this is reflected in the pleasant, welcoming attitude of the staff. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the air-conditioning works well. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of hot and cold food. As always in Greece, the yoghurt was out of this world. Situated 10 minutes' walk from the Old Town, the hotel is in a wonderfully quiet street.
Location super central ! Staff very friendly , Rooms small but really Cosy, shower was huge 😊 Best recommendations! Reception staff was extremely friendly, filled all extra wishes! Simple breakfast, but for the price is totally ok 😊 bed was really comfortable, I slept like a baby ...
