We are staying here at the Best Western Plaza in Rhodes between August 4th until August 12th and we are having a lovely time.

For those people that have been unsure about travelling during the pandemic and more importantly coming to Rhodes and perhaps staying at the Plaza we can only say that we are very pleased that we came.

The hotel runs its ‘We Care Clean’ program and everything here is spotlessly clean with Covid procedures firmly in place which is very reassuring. Masks are worn in the inside public areas of the hotel and there is a specific procedure when entering the restaurant for the excellent breakfast buffet or for those that use the restaurant for lunch and dinner. Hands are sanitised, disposable gloves are worn while you select your food from the many choices available and once seated you are free to then carry on ‘as normal’…..it’s very reassuring to see that the hotel is putting safety of its staff and guests as a priority during these times.

As others have said, the Plaza is in a fantastic position, close to everything you may want to see in Rhodes Town and is a lovely ‘city centre’ hotel with a good sized swimming pool for those lazy days during the heatwave that we are experiencing at the moment.

The staff are fantastic, very hard working and cheerful and genuinely care about giving their guests a good experience during their stay. We have spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool during this hot weather and a special mention to the guys that work in the pool bar, ‘Costa’ and his colleague (sorry didn’t get his name!) are extremely hard working and are a credit to the hotel.

Drinks, snacks, meals available at the hotel are very competitively priced and are similar to the many tavernas found just seconds from the Plaza. I do like a cocktail and the barmen here make one as good as anywhere at a price equal if not lower than anywhere we have been.

Overall the Plaza has delivered all and more for a extremely competitive price for a hotel so well positioned and it’s very hard to find genuine fault……of course some people will always moan about something, we read a review of another hotel where someone moaned that the fridge door was too loud when it closed!!!!!

Come to Rhodes and enjoy yourselves, we are very pleased that we did.

Dear Jenifer. We would like to thank you for staying at the Plaza. We really value your business and your feedback. We are so happy to read you kind words and finding out that you have enjoyed you stay in Rhodes. But we are also very thankful that you took some of your valuable time to write extensively about your stay, so others can learn form your experiences and help them decide to visit the beautiful Island of Rhodes. Restarting travel has been a very challenging situation for both Hotels and Guests. As of last Year when the problems started we have invested huge amount of time and funds in providing a safe and comfortable environment for visitors, making many essential alterations in services and property. At the same time we are very happy that our Guests are fully collaborating with the measures we need to take to protect everybody at the Hotel. And it a great reward for everybody here in the Hotel, when our Guests recognizes this. Vote of Confidence! Reading you recollection of your stay it has been such moment. We all work very hard trying to provide the best possible experience under the circumstances for our Guests and your opinion and commends are extremely useful for us. Finally need to mention, that we are all very honored and happy, when we have the chance to welcome our friends back to Rhodes. Please contact us again next time you are planning to visit the Island. It will be a pleasure to be of assistance. Yours Sincerely. Lucas

We have stayed here several times and recently during Covid and felt safe and secure. They specialise in friendly unobtrusive service where you can relax in clean, comfortable surroundings without a worry. Their Covid precautions are excellent but discrete; they have units cleaning the air in the lift, sensible precautions in the dining room and deep clean rooms (including fumigating rooms). The food is fresh and healthy although there is less choice in the evenings compared with our previous visit 2 years ago. This we put down to fewer guests than in previous years. Excellent professional staff. We can't fault it!

We very rarely return to the exact hotels that we have visited before but made an exception on a return to Rhodes one year after our last visit as we had such a great holiday last year.

Would the Best Western Plaza in Rhodes town still be as enjoyable to stay there as last years ‘post pandemic’ visit?…..yes it was!

The hotel scores on 2 main features, the location & the staff, both can’t be beaten. The pool bar staff and the lovely smiling singing Nefeli in the restaurant especially! The hotel is a mid range city centre hotel, convenient to walk around town and a 7min walk to the harbour where we had a very enjoyable boat/day trip to Symi which was a great way to see another lovely island.

The hotel was fully booked during our 9 day stay but never really felt too crowded. As before everything is spotlessly clean, the complimentary buffet breakfast was of the same high standard as before and the room housekeeping was faultless.

The hotel has a good size pool for a city hotel and is served by a pool bar where you can get drinks and pool side snacks at very reasonable prices. The staff here are super friendly and very efficient and really give a great service, we spent lots of days relaxing there. There was a slightly different procedure this year regarding the pool with access to the sun loungers/pool being restricted to a 10am opening time. This worked well in stoping guests who insist on reserving sun beds early in the morning and then disappearing back to bed or breakfast but was slightly frustrating for us personally who are early birds and enjoy an early breakfast and a sit by the pool by 9am in what is a lovely cool relaxing time of the day. I can see why 10am is the time here as this is when the pool bar opens but on many holidays the early birds at the pool who just enjoy to sit and read don’t expect to be able to get food or drink that early, personally we think a 9am opening to be able to gain access would be better.

All in all it was another lovely stay, busier than last year but thankfully the world is almost back to normal and more people are returning to the lovely island of Rhodes……will we be back?…..hopefully so!

Obviously in these trying times we all have to make sacrifices and never expect that things will be the same. However, that being said you should maybe still make sure that if you are running a chain of hotels you still need to have clean bedsheets , speak basic English and inform Guests of latest Covid 19 developments. The hotel is chaotic and if it wasn’t for the weather I would have stayed home.

Thank you for your recent stay at the Plaza and your review. I am very sorry to read your recollection of your recent stay with us. And that is because it seems that you did not pay any attention to our main enormous effort to protect our Guest and Staff under these special circumstances and follow very strict rules and comply in full with the instructions from the local Government. Also at the same time we make sure to facilitate a relaxing and enjoyable stay/ holiday for our Guests. Strict rules means that we need to make changes to our services. Thus we go in a great effort to inform all our Guests before and upon arrival of such changes. This is done as you are aware both in writing and we ask our Guests to read and approve these policies and also to confirm that they will assist our staff and exercise also all the self protection measures needed. On top of the communication in written form we also verbally explained by front desk staff specific points that our Guests nee to pay extra attention. For example we are instructed by local authorities to avoid contact and not to service rooms on a daily basis unless Guests confirm to us their demand upon arrival or during their stay. Thus front desk staff upon check-in are always asking our Guests if they desire a daily full or light service or if they the Guest just need to be supplied with clean sheets and towels. All this procedure is carefully monitored and in great detail documented and for sure it is not a chaotic procedure. Please also note that our cleaning ladys are instructed to avoid any contact or close proximity with all our Guests. In order to enter Guest rooms, they need to wait for at least an hour before entering Guest rooms. Also cleaning ladys are not responsible to handle Guests request, thus are asking our Guest to communicate all their request to the front desk . We fully understand that all these changes are not easy and we all have to adjust to new conditions. If we are not willing to follow the new rules or adjust under the circumstance, staying at home is an option. I am really happy to say that the vast majority of our Guests appreciate the effort of our staff and management to provide the best possible environment for their stay, and that they prefer to continue with their lives and not stay at home. The weather or not we strongly believe that you should take all necessary measure to protect yourself, adjust to new conditions and go outside the house. But please next time you select a Hotel to stay make sure you find a property that take these matters as seriously as we do. Stay at home is not really an option !

Left here yesterday, didn't want to go home to be fair. Hotel did very well with covid under difficult times. Lots of hand sprays, masks reminders. Breakfast was handed to you by staff after you point out what you want. Ok under the circumstances. Bar and restaurant staff are very hard working, very very friendly. Reception staff were efficient and helpful. Nothing was an issue here and I'd like to go back, especially without social distancing. Pool is good, location to town centre and old town is great. Lots of places to eat nearby, easy walking to beach. Room had a massive tv with a few english news channels, Fridge, free room safe which utilises the room key card. Asked for and got a pool view, 5th floor(top). Drinks in the hotel bar were very reasonably priced which was good.
Had a couple of gyros at pool and found it to be excellent and as good as wed had at local restaurants

It’s the first time the hotel didn’t manage to catch up with the its own standards.
It’s really perfectly clean ,apart from the balconies ,and all the safety measures against COVID 19 are activated.
Cosy and nice city hotel-in the centre of Rodos & the staff is really friendly and willing to help .
But we weren’t informed that due to COVID 19 regulations the rooms are not cleaned every day .
I asked for new towels-that were immediately brought in my room -but I can’t imagine how someone could stay in a room for 3days without any cleaning services.
Dinner also was not what we were used to have every time we had booked before.
No starter& extremely limited dishes ..
We really hope to see The Plaza hotel we have known for some years now .

Dear Maria, Thank you for letting us know regarding your recent stay at our property. Our team is committed to providing an exceptional experience, and we appreciate your feedback as a valued guest of ours. Your health and safety remain paramount, and as such, we were among the first in the industry to roll out standards and best practices to enhance our cleaning protocols at the start of COVID-19. Our hotel prides itself on embracing BWH Hotel Group’s We Care Clean™ initiative and ensuring our guests have a safe and comfortable stay. By telling us what you liked about your stay and how we can improve, you are helping us deliver a superior experience for you and other guests in the future. Until now it was the local law to restrict daily cleaning of Guest rooms. Guests had to be informed upon arrival of the new procedure and the options available. For example Guests needed to specifically ask this upon arrival or during the stay if they needed the daily cleaning of their room. We pleased to announced that local legislation has changed this week and as such we are adjust the procedures and information Guests take upon arrival. Guests may still request if they want to restrict us from entering the room during their stay or limit it. We hope you will come back and see us again soon. If I can be of assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to contact me at +30 22410 22501. Thank you again for taking the time to complete the survey. We appreciate your loyalty to our brand. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Come out of the hotel, turn right & you're just 1 block away from Mandraki Harbour where you can go on boat trips to various places. There is also a road train that runs hourly and is well worth a trip to see the area, including the ancient Olympic stadium. 10 minutes walk to the old walled town where there are some lovely restaurants and various shops. If you come out of the hotel and turn left there is a big well stocked supermarket & bakery at the end of the road. If you carry on by the Napoleon restaurant you find the beach at the end of the road.
The hotel staff were all very happy and friendly and obliging...got vibes that it was a happy place to work. The pool area was great to catch some sun, no trouble getting a sunbed. The pool bar served some great food at reasonable prices and the barman was so friendly & efficient.
The breakfast was very good with a great choice of food. The dinner buffet was varied and mostly good, especially for the price paid. The restaurant staff were friendly and very hard working, clearing the tables and keeping everywhere spotlessly clean. The only thing I would say is the hand sanitiser stand would be better placed as you entered the door and not inside the restaurant as I think some people just didn't notice it to use. The room was very clean and the fridge was useful. The bed was comfy and the balcony had 2 chairs which were handy to catch some late afternoon sun on. We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the pool which I'd recommend. The bathroom was fine. Would've been better if there was a shower cubicle rather than a shower over the bath but for the price paid you can't complain really. Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap and shower gel all provided.
Would definitely return to this hotel . Can't beat the location.

We'll be looking forward to staying at your hotel in the near future. We did have a booking for May 2020, but due to travel restrictions we will have to visit later.
The hotel has integrity & has refunded our non refundable booking due to the virus.
We thank you very much & hope to see you later this year.
This shows the hotel has good customer relations and high standards, so well done from us.

As everyone has commented, this is in a good location for Rhodes town.

Room size was sufficient but very plain in decor. Aircon was good. Had a wall mounted bathroom hair dryer which was ok but I'm sure women will prefer their own. Hot water was always available. Good mini fridge and the tea and coffee facility in the room was very welcome. The shower was poor. An iron and ironing board was speedily brought to the room upon request. What I thoroughly disliked but seems to be becoming more and more popular with hotels is a glass bathroom door. This was particularly unwelcome as the toilet was directly behind the door, so enjoy the view as your partner uses the toilet!!!

The outdoor swimming pool size and surrounding lounge area was just about adequate for the size of the hotel in June. The pool staff were incredibly polite, helpful and hard working. Pool and lounge area opening time was from 10am to 7pm.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was plentiful and had cooked options.

A late checkout was possible if there was room availability on the day, at a cost of €40.

We would be happy to return.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Best Western.
Front desk Staff were professional and helpful and so were the house keeping team who do a fabulous job!
Breakfast was average. Cleanliness and covid protocols strictly adhered. Only downside was that the air conditioning wasn't working as their central control was still set to heating which meant that there were no cool air flow in the room . Road noise can be loud as we had to keep the balcony doors slightly open to keep us cool and comfortable. Their location was the winner for us - the hotel is strategically located and within walking distance of every place we visited. We walked all 3 days for sight seeing and food!

There are several TV channels that are English speaking, mostly news channels. However, as the Plaza Best Western is in the heart of things, with the old town being a ten minute walk away, the harbour just down the road and so much to see and do there, plus the hotel having a great pool and friendly bar, you won't have much time stuck in your room to watch boring TV.
