Detailed Reviews
We booked this hotel only 6/7 weeks in advance due to UK passport issuing delays. We were slightly worried that the hotel was too far from the Old Town etc but we shouldn’t have worried.
When we arrived Antonis was so helpful providing us with maps of the local area. He speaks excellent English! (He was also extremely helpful before we even arrived, replying to multiple questions I sent by email!).
There was a very nice beach (Zefiros) 15/20 minutes walk away.
There is also a market near by on a Wednesday and Saturday.
The new marina is also close by and is really worth a visit. The Naval bar was lovely.
The walk to the Old Town was around 20 minutes and was fairly straightforward.
Our room was basic but contained everything we needed to enjoy the break. We were able to use the small kitchenette to make some evening meals.
We would definitely like to come back to Rhodes and this hotel would be ideal if renting a car.

We visited the hotel July 2022.Spacious, clean, modern studios. The staff is rather friendly and willing to help. The kitchen in the room is well equipped. The value for money is rather good. We recommend it without reservation.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Philoxenia. The staff were incredibly helpful, no matter what the request. The rooms are nice- spacious and comfortable and cleaned daily. The kitchenette was a bonus! Good location, easy 1Euro bus ride to Rhodes old town and the town beach. Highly recommend hiring a car (it was $30 euros for 1 day, booked easily through Philoxenia reception) and heading down to Lindos (about an hour away). St Pauls Bay is beautiful!

We stayed at Philoxenia Hotel for 8 nights after the hotel we originally booked let us down at the last minute. Seems a bit out of the way, but not a bad walk to Rhodes old town or an easy cheap bus ride. Not much in the way of local eateries but with the kitchenette and supermarkets quite nearby we managed well. Mother & son owners were terrific and as helpful as they possibly could be. Rooms were very clean and it was lovely to sit on the balcony on an evening. Problems with wifi but again, we managed.

Great place with a really nice attitude towards the guests. Great quality regarding information for food and services,... And the addresses provided were actually excellent. 15 minutes walking from the city center so you avoid the noise and the masses.

Incredibly kind and helpful owner! Thanks for your wonderful maps and instructions, Antonis! :) Calm, clean and cozy place with a little garden and fountain, not far from the beach and 20 minutes' walk away from the city center. TV, air conditioning, hair dryer, dishes and all the necessary utensils for cooking in the room. The district could be seen as rather plain compared to the historical part of the town, but quiet and full of friendly natives always ready to show the way to a foreigner. Lots of mini & supermarkets, non-touristic restaraunts and tavernas in the neighbourhood (all with very good food).
The first time it may take some time to find the hotel in the middle of all the little streets and sideways, but after a couple of days you feel at home! And all the taxists know their way to the place.

This is a great hotel! Location is good, just 2 km from the old town. We love walking. The area is good, and very quiet. Staff was very friendly, helpful! In the room we had Wifi, Tv, and airconditioning. Cleaning every day, clean towels every day! The bed was comfortable, new furniture. This is a cheap but nice small familiar hotel! Rhodes is beautiful! Go for one day to Symi!!!!!

We stayed in Philoxenia,Rhodes for 3 days during our Greek Islands tour. The hotel is old but well maintained, the rooms are clean; have a balcony and kitchen. The hotel is family run and the mother and son we met were very warm and friendly people. They provide us a map and gave useful information on the island. We were recommended good restaurants to eat, supermarkets to shop, beaches to visit. We had breakfast for 5 euro the morning we arrived and it was worth the money. We felt home during our stay. The only drawback is the location I must say. We walked to the old town and new town and to the bus stop for lindos and other beaches. Walking to the old town is almost 30 minutes and rather than walking you do not have a chance for local transport since it is hard to catch the buses which do not run frequently. But new town, old town and the port all took 5 euro by taxi if you do not want to walk. It was a value for money.

My family of 5 stayed at the beautiful Philoxenia Hotel & Studios. We had the 3rd floor Apartment. Very spacious and relaxing apartment with kitchen. Private balcony and good Air Conditioning. Location was good for New Town. We took a Taxi to Red Gate in Old Town one day. After went to New Town by the Aquarium, then walked all the way back to the Hotel. About 20 minutes walk. There is a Bazaar supermarket 5 min walk away and a nice bakery 4 minutes walk away. NOTE: Many stores in Rhodes are closed on Sundays.
Antonis (the owner) was extremely helpful and guided us on the trip. He help us call the rental car service for our car trip to Lindos. Thank you Antonis, you are the best!

Unfortunately there is not any swimming pool nearby.
