First of all, hotel manager Mr.Antonis greeted us with warm welcome at check in.His guidance of good advices made our holiday perfect. He also helped us for renting a car.Renting a car is a must to discover Rhodes island. The breakfast, which is served in the garden,is good and enough. The rooms are cleaned regularly. Also hotel is in walking distance to Old Town. The Rooms are clean and in good size.Thank you very much to Mr.Antonis, his mother and all hotel staff.
We are greeted with a smiling face at the first arrival, a loving environment.Studio style rooms with a peaceful environment where room cleaning is done every day. We received a service and our hotel manager Mr.Antonios - places to visit, car, etc. was helpful in every aspect.I would like to thank Mr.Antonios, his mother and staff for their hospitality, friendliness, helpfulness, high level of service and everything.
My family of 5 stayed at the beautiful Philoxenia Hotel & Studios. We had the 3rd floor Apartment. Very spacious and relaxing apartment with kitchen. Private balcony and good Air Conditioning. Location was good for New Town. We took a Taxi to Red Gate in Old Town one day. After went to New Town by the Aquarium, then walked all the way back to the Hotel. About 20 minutes walk. There is a Bazaar supermarket 5 min walk away and a nice bakery 4 minutes walk away. NOTE: Many stores in Rhodes are closed on Sundays. Antonis (the owner) was extremely helpful and guided us on the trip. He help us call the rental car service for our car trip to Lindos. Thank you Antonis, you are the best!
The quality, service and cleanliness exceeded expectations. This is clearly a boutique type hotel for a very reasonable price . Owner was extremely accommodating , informative and knowledgeable without being intrusive . It was indeed a great find .
We booked this hotel because we wanted a nice and fairly priced city hotel to explore Rhodos Town during the first days of our holiday. Philoxenia hotel gave us exactly that. Just a 5 minute drive from Rhodos Town this hotel was perfectly situated for us (we had a rental car). It's very nice and clean. The hotel manager is very friendly and gave us all the information we needed to explore Rhodos Town. The breakfast is only 5 euro and gives you bread with some spreads, a toast, cake, fruit juice and coffee. Simple but all we needed to get going for the day. The only downside we can tell is that it can be a bit noisy (just sounds coming from the corridor in the morning) but nothing some earplugs can't fix if you do wish to sleep a bit longer.
We booked this hotel for 12 days without knowing if this was good. We made a great choice, just 15 min walk from center, quite surroundings, good room and great staff, helpful. Good cleaning service, good advise from staff, small supermarkets in walking distance.
Incredibly kind and helpful owner! Thanks for your wonderful maps and instructions, Antonis! :) Calm, clean and cozy place with a little garden and fountain, not far from the beach and 20 minutes' walk away from the city center. TV, air conditioning, hair dryer, dishes and all the necessary utensils for cooking in the room. The district could be seen as rather plain compared to the historical part of the town, but quiet and full of friendly natives always ready to show the way to a foreigner. Lots of mini & supermarkets, non-touristic restaraunts and tavernas in the neighbourhood (all with very good food). The first time it may take some time to find the hotel in the middle of all the little streets and sideways, but after a couple of days you feel at home! And all the taxists know their way to the place.…
We were very happy with our stay in this hotel. It is conveniently located outside the old town of Rhodes and there was plenty of parking space available. We used google maps and reached the hotel from the airport in around 30 minutes. Perfect if you visit with a car. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and include all amenities. A lot of useful information provided about the city and the island. I would happily return here.
Stayed last year after cancelling an extremely overpriced 5* boutique hotel (with arrogant staff I would add) booking. Antonis was patient with my phone query and the family room was spotless and new. The non central residential location guarantees a quiet stay for those who wish to be close to center but away from the noise.
We really enjoyed our stay at Filoxenia. Our room had everything we could ask for, it was bright, had a big comfortable double bed (200x180?), a small balcony with view to the garden, air conditioning, a nice clean bathroom and a small kitchen area with a proper fridge, cooktop and all the essentials for cooking and eating. The kitchen part of the room was particularly nice, because we could chill our drinks and store some snacks and fruit and had the opportunity to cook if we wanted to - every hotel room should have this. The owners lovely mother served us breakfast every morning at the neat terrace, which consisted of white bread, butter, different marmalades, some cake, freshly made toasts with ham and cheese and coffee or tee, to one’s own taste. It was nothing extraordinary but a legit, tasty breakfast with nothing to complain about. What made the stay there special was the host Antonis. Right at our arrival he was really nice to us and gave us a printed map of rhodes town with selected restaurants, nearby grocery stores and kiosks and markings of recommended free parking areas. During our stay we were always greeted with a smile, had a small chat with him every morning and evening, he asked about our day and we could talk about our planned day-trips, where he approved or improved our route, gave us selected tipps from the heart on what to discover on our expedition and which restaurants to eat at or which more unknown beaches are worth a visit. It was not the usual tourist-tips you find online or in guidebooks, he knows the island very well and understood that we were young, open-minded, curios guys and recommended stuff off the interest and typical routes of mass tourism. We could ask him about just anything from options for nearby late night snacks, to how to approach different parts of the Island. His hints and additions to our plans really levelled up our experience of the island and enabled us to get to know and enjoy the island a bit more. His natural kindness made our stay at Filoxenia pleasant and stress-free. It almost felt like staying with friends.…
