I was here for a week holiday from the end of July to the beginning of August 2019 with my husband. Although the building is not what we call "greek style", meaning white and blue houses normally we think of when talking about Greece, we experienced a very good holiday. The room was at the second floor in the main building, bigger than usual with a balcony on the swimming pool. Very good food and plenty of different dishes even towards the end of lunch/dinner. Very nice and professional waiters and waitress always smiling although working at very "hot temperatures". Plenty of sun beds and beach at walinkg distance. . Many swiimming pool and garden places for sun beds. Close to Rhodes and Faliraki city and bus stop to different and nice villages just in front of the hotel. If you like the wind and wide beaches go to Prassonisi, at most south point of the Island: a paradise! If you don't want to walk long distances but have a tour in the surroundings in the evening there are small shop centers either one way or the other.

To begin on a positive note: the hotel is prominently located at a wonderful beach, the spa staff is extraordinary and the weather is superb in august. Unfortunately, our vacation was not as pleasant as it may seem though. Upon arrival, we received rooms in a separate building across the road. The road is a highly frequented street. Crossing this street turned out to be somewhat of an adventure. It seemed as if Greek drivers receive bonus points for running over tourists, since no one stopped at pedestrian crossings and some even speeded up when tourists tried to cross. The luggage service of the hotel consisted of a person taking some of our luggage across the road. There was no luggage cart available at the time of our arrival. Later we saw luggage carts, but they are not used, because they do not fit into the elevators. Hence, we had to carry most of our luggage across the road and our entire luggage into the rooms. The building across the road is in dire condition. The A/C in one of our rooms did not work the first three days, electric cables were insufficiently isolated in another and there were cracks and holes in the walls all over the place. The view consisted of a dirty parking lot, the "death race road" and the main hotel seaside. We had to cross the street several times per day with kids and elderly. It was a horrible experience. After our arrival, we asked to be moved to sea view rooms in the main building due to the shortcomings of our accommodations. We had booked 8 months in advance and still were placed in the worst rooms. Three days later we received new rooms for a surcharge. The new rooms were much better and had direct view of the sea, the beach and all the pools. The Blue Sea Beach Resort was built in the 70's. At that time it must have been one of the best resorts on Rhodes. Today the entire hotel complex is in urgent need of renovations. We frequently used the spa and the pools, which are the highlights of this hotel. Unfortunately, a few days after our arrival a group of people arrived, who made the rest of our stay a living nightmare. We booked a vacation in a Family friendly non-smoking hotel. We received a stay at a Newcastle United Hooligan event. The before mentioned group was extremely loud throughout the day until 2-3 a.m. These adults jumped into the pool making other guests and their stuff wet without any regards. In the pool they smoked, drank alcoholic beverage in glasses and ate food. Leftovers were littered directly into the pool. Besides food, glass and cigarette ends they also flung pee and vomit into the pool. Unfortunately, the hotel staff/management was not willing or able to stop these hools. A true nightmare during a family vacation! The bad and Spartan equipment (technical and otherwise) of the hotel made it difficult for the staff to live up to their own standards. The Animation staff tried to save the day for the guests by making the best out of (almost) nothing. If it were not for the efforts of Ester, Cecilia, Safy, Kristina, Silvia, Simone, Elvis and Christine, we would have had an even worst time. They made up for lots of the hotel shortcomings. The cleanliness and hygiene at the hotel were ... catastrophic. On numerous occasions I received drinks in "clean" glasses, which still had lipstick from previous users on them. The room service obviously used the same wiping water for all rooms on a floor, merely wetting the floors and moving hairs etc. from one room to the next. In our rooms we saw different hair every day - after cleaning took place - on the floor, which definitely was not ours. The bed sheets were not clean either. The whole situation was thoroughly disgusting! The hotel management must be overwhelmed or not interested in order to allow such conditions.

We are the family Rodriguez , the Blue Sea Beach Resort is, for the last 5 years our chosen destination for our summer holidays. This year we spend two weeks and are looking forward to returning next summer. Like us, we meet some families that are as well returning every year, this speaks volume about the place. The Blue Sea Beach Resort is a place stand for so many positive features that we cant put one on top of the other because everything is on label 1 of excellence. The location is on a luxury beautiful pebble' beach, with water so transparent that even in the deep is like you are looking through a clear glass. The temperature of the water remains always the same, rather could when you entered but surprisingly extremely pleasant, you have a feeling of being purified and immediately relaxes you. Very seldom climate in a breathtaking place. The staff of the hotel is kind, professional and welcoming. The manager is an example of professionalism, always vigilant and attentive that all goes well and that the guests are happy and satisfied, you see him every day any time everywhere !, checking the reception, the restaurant, the night activities, so discretely present to keep the hotel at the higher standards. The personnel in the reception, the restaurant, the beach bar, the maintenance, cleaning service, the lifeguard at the beach, conveniences store, and the spa, each and everyone working as a team with one goal: to make guests to feel well, attended and respected. The rooms are spacious enough, comfortable with good climatization, the terraces have a rack to hang your swimming suits, the rooms are clear and bride but don't keep you away to be able to sleep in the morning because of the heavy dimming curtains , the beds are large and comfortable, the bathrooms up to standards, the linen and towels super clean . The whole hotel is super clean 24 x 24 ! You can walk without shoes your feet will be spotless. The Swimming pool is beautiful, functional and very pleasant, they have 3 pools with a pool bar, and this year they added an amusing Water Octopus slider for to add even more fun for the kids to play safely. They also worked on the Tennis court, in an open-air amphitheater that honor the Greek tradition, there the entertainment team celebrate some evening events. The label of noise is far lower than in other resorts ! this is so appreciated! If you want music you during the day you stay in the main pool, if you want quiet ( as we do) you head to the beach. During the day you have many organized sports activities, in the night, you have nice shows up to 10 pm, which is so adequate! If you want to have further dancing and music just walk to the lively town of Faliraki, just 10-15 minutes walk and there are many night clubs, pubs, bars, restaurants. Rhodes town with its amazing historical center is 25 on a public bus that stops 10 meters from the Hotel entrance, it cost 2.50 € per person, is very comfortable even has air conditioning. The restaurant in the hotel is large and even in the busiest moments will allow you to find a table. Breakfast is my favorite meal with the super Greek yogurt, the freshly baked eggs, the coffee good espresso machines. During lunch and dinner, you will always find something that suits your diet. I'm vegetarian and could manage perfectly. The pizza is so good that you keep eating it. The fresh fruits are a treat, and all Greek specialties are amazing. Bravo to the person of the restaurant, the chiefs, the people that constantly keep looking that is sufficient of everything and they are coming back and forth with the cars with fresh food. After this long review, my enthusiasm is obvious and I hope I have made a little justice to the great hotel, great staff, and beautiful environment. I have a privilege to see many sunsets in different parts of the World but from the sandy Faliraki Beach from the Blue Sea Beach, I have enjoyed every morning the moment when the upper part of the sun begins to become visible on the horizon the unforgettable dawn. I apologize for my lengthy review, I could have simply say that the Blue Sea hotel is great, placed on the sandy Faliraki Beach features indoor and outdoor pools for adults and children. Sunbeds and free towels are available on the beach and that WiFi is offered in public areas, great food, great staff, but, if you are a curious traveler and, like myself search for information to fulfill your curiosity to make the right choice for the vacation, you will be happy, I guess to read more. Enjoy your summer !

This is an honest review from a seasoned traveller, who has stayed at a variety of hotels. I read the reviews obvs prior to booking and really had high hopes, but the hotel is a nice 3* at best and unfortunately had too many cons for me to ever return or recommend. I’ll start with the pros... Pros - When we arrived they upgraded our 3 inland rooms to sea views, which was a lovely surprise. - Very accommodating when we weren’t happy with the size of the room (it wasn’t feasible for 3 adults, the bed was practically a cot single bed for a child). The bed was pretty much on the floor so they doubled up the mattress in the single bed so that it was actually sleepable, and the same height as the double beds. - Big Thank You to Mika on reception, the biggest help going at this hotel. - Your situated right on the beach with it’s on private beach, which brings in perfect views and easy access - Excellent free WiFi throughout even to the beach ! - Thank you for reserving a table for 10 for us every morning and night, it made dining in a large group so much easier - Food had a decent selection, I managed to find something to eat every night. But I pretty much had the same thing everyday and stuck to what I knew (fried eggs, grilled chicken, spaghetti, chips, gyros, pasta) to ensure I was full and so did the kids, so if you are happy to eat repetitively knock yourself out - We also loved that there weren’t 1000’s of cats crawling around the hotel which seem to be common at resorts in Europe. Only saw 1-2 and they didn’t bother us at all and were the owners. Usually in resort hotels this can be worrying, especially if you have small children like us who are more likely to be scratched - Dali and Safi from the animation team were lovely, they work really hard. The evening shows were great especially the acrobatics showcase and the soul singers. Cons - All inclusive finishes at 11.30PM so you have to pay from drinks from 11.30PM until 1am when everything closes. I’ve never ever experienced this from an all inclusive hotels - Weak alcoholic drinks even for a European country, we appreciate that they aren’t name brand and won’t taste the same as the UK. But I’ve stayed all over Europe and the Caribbean and these are by far the worst I’ve ever had. Will be very happy to see the back of ‘Ouzo’, thanks to the bar staff that kept making variations for us in a game of trial and error lol - Bed mattresses uncomfortable and low, also provided with the tiniest sheet to sleep with on. I know it’s hot but it was thinner than a vest top. - There are no lifeguards present at any of the pools which is worrying at a family hotel, we understand children are to be supervised at all times and we always would. But a lifeguard would be appropriate, they only show their heads out of thin air when someone tries to dive from the infinity pool - Not enough bar staff in the , the queuing all day was ridiculous. There is nothing not one staff member at a time that mans the bars and the snack bar all day, which results in never ending queues. It was actually beyond irritating I’ve never had to queue for so long to get one drink - The minibar in your room only contains one bottle of water, which is your responsibility to refill from their taps all week. - Rooms nothing like the pictures on TUI thank gosh, most in the main hotel have been revamped a little but could still do with some more modernisation to become a 4 star, more like a 3 star at least - There are no irons in the room, the only way to get your clothes ironed is if you pay to have them done in reception. There aren’t even mini shampoo, conditioners, or sewing kits either. Just a bar of soap and some mysterious looking shower gel in the bath. - bathroom is tiny so if you are on the larger side of life you will find it every uncomfortable, and most of your time will be spent trying not to soak the bathroom because you’ll need up with a mini flood from the stand up bath/shower - The Al a carte restaurant there was a disaster, there was also a large family of ants crawling on the floor where we were seated, all gathered around dropped food on the floor. We found this unacceptable and unhygienic, we were told “Greek ants don’t bite” as a joke but we didn’t find this funny, whilst we tried not to panic our 3 children under 8. The manager wiped them away with tissue, but this still left a large scattered amount. The food took extremely long to cook which is difficult with young children, after the ant situation at 8PM we didn’t eat our mains until 9.25, all of our kids and some of the adults were unhappy with the meat and fish. To make matters worse, at that point the main restaurant was closed. This was infuriating with 3 young children and starving adults and the chefs who couldn’t do anything. Thankfully Mika tried her best and got the children odd slices of pizza -

The hotel, the rooms and the pools were really nice, but the biggest reason why we loved this place so much was the amazing staff!! No matter where you went the staff was super friendly and the service was excellent every single day. The animation team was amazing keeping the teens busy with all kinds of activities. Usually our children are ready to go home after five days, but this was the first time they would have wanted to stay longer! I can honestly say that this was the best all inclusive holiday we've had and even the hotel itself was really nice, it was all because of the wonderful staff. I can highly recommend this hotel!
