The reception and bar staff were absolutely amazing. They were so kind, welcoming and friendly. They chatted to my boyfriend and I every day and always made us feel so welcomed. They helped with day tours and renting quad bikes. The food was delicious and the reception area was spotless.

However, the shower in the room was TINY you could barely move in it. Also be aware that they only show the 'suites' as opposed to the actual studio rooms which look nothing like the picture. They are very very basic and nothing like the fab interior that are in the pics. This is something you can look pass if you don't want to spend most of your time in your room!

My issue was with the owner/manager. As a young Irish girl, I wear fake tan as I cannot tan. So I did stain the sheets the first night due to my fake tan.

We agreed with the staff and owner that if it were to happen again I would pay for the sheets, this was not an issue to me. I decided that the maids not change the beds and leave the sheets on and should they be ruined I would pay for those sheets.

When leaving the owner pulled me and my boyfriend aside to request €60 for the sheets. I disputed this with her as we agreed I did not have to pay for the sheets from the first night.

The owner then brought me down to the laundry room to show me the sheets. I informed her I understood about the sheets but reminder her of our agreement.

I saw the two sheets that I ruined with fake tan and had no problem paying for these - this was my fault!

However, she then wanted me to pay €5 for each towel that was used!

I was in disbelief, it was the end of my holiday and to be honest I didn't have money! (I had enough to pay for the taxi to the airport and to get something to eat). She then asked me if I had a credit card to pay for the €60 for sheets and €5 for each towel bearing in mind I was there for 12 days, so she wanted money for each towel, and I am only 23 I don't own a credit card!

I explained that towels get dirty and this was out of my hands - my fake tan had nothing to do with this.

She called me rude and berated me for 20 minutes insisting that I pay this money. But to me, she was a business owner with money and it was just greed!

We went back to reception and I handed her the €20 for the sheets, which I felt like I did have to pay.

The owner then spoke to her daughter about me in front of my boyfriend and I, I felt so uncomfortable!

It was such a pity as the rest of our time there had been so pleasant and the rest of the staff were so so lovely.

Dear Ms. Sarah, Thank you for spending your time to write a review for us and expalining your experience at Malibu Boutique Studios. First of all, we are happy that you had an overall nice experience from our staff and facilities in general. As about this unexpected even let us explain you again from our point of view. As you admit it was a wrong option from yourside to use a product that has as a result to destroy hotel's amenities. We never charge our costumers for sheets/ towels and it was the first time from our side that this happened as it was not by accident but you saw the first time that the sheets and towels had so much color that was not washed out so they were useless but you continued using the same product. We kindly asked you to pay for the destroyed sheets and towels only after 2 attempts to take out the color and our attempts were unsuccesful. We never wanted to overcharged you about any of our products and as you already said for a stay of 12 days with those colors in our amenities a lot of sheets and towels were destroyed. We believed that was fair enough to charge you the amount of money for those destroyed items and we wanted to show you them in order to know that it is true and what you pay for. You did not want to pay that amount but only 20 euro which for 12 nights stay as of course a very low price for the damaged occured but we accept it. We do not believe that a 23 years old adult is not responsible enough and mature and also not have the right to own a credit card. ( Adults from 18 years old/ and from your country also from 16 years old have those rights) As about the discussion between the mother and daughter that you mention we do not understand why it so weird as it is a family running hotel and the daughter was at the reception by that time so she should know what happened with guests . In conclusion we believe that that was not unfair to charge you for this situation and the fact that you paid the amount that was only right for you would be satisfying for you. Also once again we believe that a 23 years old person is old enough to taker over responsibilities of their actions when needed! Sincerely, Owner of Malibu Boutique Studios

My friend and I stayed here for 10 days at the end of September and generally we had a lovely time!

The room was cleaned every single day where the beds were made and out towels changed if we wanted.

Breakfast was 8am -10am every day, the pool was lovely and clean, there were lots of outdoor beds, some in shade and some in the sun all day.

The staff were charming, everyone was happy to help and so lovely!

It’s very close to everything. The beach, bar street if you wanted a night out and some really lovely restaurants if drinking isn’t really your thing.

There are also bus stops nearby to get to other parts of the island.

We would be leaving a 5 star review but one thing let this place down for me. I’m vegan and we were staying for 10 days. On the very first morning I informed the manager and asked what was suitable at breakfast and all they could offer was bread and melon. Breakfast every day consisted of deli meat, cheese, bread, some pastries, yoghurt and pancakes/cake/baklava etc. there was also hog food like sausages, eggs and bacon each morning and there were sometimes mushrooms/tomatoes but it changed every day and some day they had neither so I couldn’t count on it. They didn’t have any kind of plant milk on site either. I went to the supermarket which was a 2 minute walk away and found 3 different vegan cheeses and 2 types of vegan deli meat as well as loads of plant milk options. I ended up buying my own food for breakfast and bringing down every day to eat with my friend (she isn’t vegan). I thought maybe after a day or two they would have offered to get something else in for me given we were there for a while but that never happened. Given that I had paid for breakfast to be included and it was so easy to find vegan food on the island (options in literally every restaurant as well as lots in supermarkets) I was a little disappointed that they didn’t think of this. The restaurant menu was also pretty big but again there were no options for me so we never ate at the hotel unfortunately.

As I said I didn’t expect to have lots of options, I appreciate my diet is tricky and someone not vegan may have given this place 5 stars but based on my experience I have knocked one off.

That said - otherwise a lovely place.

I found this hotel after some research as wanted something close enough to the beach and resturants and didn't want the restriction of all inclusive. This hotel was exactly what I wanted. The style of the hotel is great with boho style reception and pool area. We had a family room as It was me, my wife and daughter staying. The room was a decent size but had a few shortcummings. The positives of room were, good size, comfortable bed, good aircon, the cleaners did a good job each day.The room is basic but is to be expected as is as described online. The negatives of the room are, the shower, although powerful and always delivering hot water floods the bathroom this is issue with the shower type used as they only have a curtain which doesnt keep the water in. There is only a small mirror in the bathroom and an even smaller one in the bedroom. The rooms are bit dated too and could be updated to match the stylish reception and pool area. The staff in the hotel were among the best I have seen in any star hotel. the hotel is family run and it shows as they do everything they can to make sure the guests have a great stay. Big shout out to Vangelis the bar man. He was an awesome character and seemed to work 25 hours a day. The breakfast is great with plenty of variety and good quality ingredients, the greek yoghurt is epic. We eat lunch at the pool bar when we spent days at the pool and every meal was top quality especially the club sandwich , Tacos and Pizza. The pool is great although somedays the water was little cloudy. There is no rush for sunbeds you can always get a bed either shaded or in the sun. The location is perfect 2 minutes from the supermarket 5 minutes to great resturants and 10 minutes to the beach. We would definately return simply due the attentive staff and chilled pool and the location.

Just back from a two week stay at this complex ! Couldn’t fault anything, staff all very pleasant! Appartments clean and surroundings very clean too ! Including the pool and pool area . Cleaners worked very hard and came to the room every day to change towels and empty the bins . Beds changed regularly and were very comfortable 😄As it says on the listing it really is a jewel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of falaraki. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting to stay there .

I loved the reception and pool area of the hotel it was very fresh bright and airy. Great atmosphere and lovely and clean space. The pool area was gorgeous and I really loved the sun beds. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. The rooms however in my opinion let the hotel down. They are simple which is what I was expecting however cleanliness is lacking. We arrived into our room late at night and the room did not appear to have been cleaned adequately. The floors were dirty and the shower was grubby and smelly. We brought this up with reception and were told the room would be cleaned again tomorrow morning for us. It wasn't. The shower drain smelled as if it hadnt been cleaned properly in a while and layer of grubbiness was all over the shower floor resulting in me and my partner having to wear shoes in the shower. The sinks were also grubby and appeared unclean. There was also shoe prints and dead bugs on the walls. The beds were fine however we requested a double room and were given two single beds pushed together which was disappointing. A full length mirror is necessary as well and the room did not have one. Toilet roll was also not replaced daily so we had to request from reception. Breakfast was also great and all you can eat style. Over all I would stay again simply because i enjoyed the reception and pool areas so much the rooms could just use some tlc.

Fantastic little studio apartment, staff very attentive amd helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Loved the pool, sunbeds (no fighting for a bed in the mornings)!! Breakfasts are great a choice of hot or cold buffet style includes pastries and cakes!! Bar snack meals served during the day - highly recommend the fresh salad (manouri cheese is delicious ) room was very clean, only negative was the shower which has a curtain and water pours onto the floor… not far from the supermarkets and shops/beach. Highly recommend for a quiet peaceful venue for a holiday to switch off!!

My family and I stayed at the Malibu Boutique Studios, in July 2023.
The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and is very clean.
The family that runs the hotel are wonderful, they are so friendly and made our stay that little more special. Nothing was too much trouble!

The breakfast was varied, and of a high quality, and when we ate in the hotel in the evening the food was reasonably priced and was also very nice.
The hotel is situated within a 5-minute stroll to the centre of Faliraki, however, far enough away to be quiet and relaxing.

The hotel was mostly families or couples, we didn’t experience any loud groups, making this a perfect place from which to visit, all Faliraki, has to offer, with Rhodes Old Town, a short taxi ride away.

I am writing this review now as we have re-booked for this year

Thank you..........see you soon

Just wanted to say how nice the staff is and welcoming. The lady at the reception could speak so many languages which I think is amazing.
I was with a friend and we wanted to find a hotel near the bars and restaurants and the Malibu hotel is at the perfect distance from the Main Street, not too close, not too far (about 5/10mns ) walking.
I also wanted to highlight the quality of food they offer for lunch. I’ve tried a lot on their menu and everything tasted amazing and at a reasonable price.
The rooms are convenient, with a small kitchen.
The pool area is nice, even if we were in august we didn’t need to fight to get a bed/deckchair haha.
So I would really recommend this hotel to everyone (families, friends, couples…).
It definitely made me want to come back 😊

Amazing hotel for the price! We trafelled as a family with our 4 month old. Room was good, cleaning superb, and the breakfast was excellent and had a good variability: eggs, bacon, sausages, bread with toppigs, greek youghurt with toppings, juices and something different depending on the morning, like tiny cheesecake cups or omelette pie. Pool area was green and spacious, and we had no difficulty in finding a sunbed. Hotel had friendly and child-friendly staff and pool bar with good choice of drinks and food with reasonable prices. Location was very good. Totally recommend!

A gem of a find in the hustle of Faliraki, tucked away from the madness of the bars and clubs. Merseni the boutique manager was so helpful and friendly. She made some great recommendations of places to visit and eat, and just assisted us with a number of enquiries we had. Always welcoming with a smile. The hotel rooms themselves were clean and modern, with a five minute walk into the main strip of Faliraki. I would highly recommend this place.

Not free unfortunately. I think we paid about €60 for 2 hours, including bottle of white wine. They are set up on the hotel roof, with lovely views all across Faliraki .
