There were always plenty of sun loungers during the day with plenty of parasols for shade.
Breakfast is always a mix of traditional Greek feta and pastries with cold meats and the usual cereals and some lovely cinamon topped rice puddings prepared by Artemis.
The location is perfect nestled at the bottom of Ancient Thera and just an 8 minute walk down to the beach and the seafront where bars and resturants are plentiful. We dined out every night and I can honestly say we never had a bad meal, our favourite place to eat was Aquarius.
All in all we had a great holiday and a very comfortable stay at The Artemis and can't thank Maria, Yanis, Stellios and Artemis enough for their hospitality, oh and not forgetting Canellos their dog.
Thankyou for a wonderful stay.

Maria's lovely family make a delicious traditional breakfast every morning with interesting dishes to try.
The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and you can pay £7 per night for air conditioning.
Perissa has a nice selection of restaurants which are a 5-10 minute walk down the hill. The beach is very busy and the sea was lovely to swim in once you got over the slippy rocks.
We did the afternoon bus tour of the island, ending with a beautiful sunset in Oia.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Artemis for a relaxing holiday.
Our room No.20was facing the
Monastery in the
Mountains and had sun late afternoon, room was large and modern, with a refrigerator, tea making faculties, plenty of sockets for charging all those devices.
Lovely pool, with 2 sections for sitting, one was a jacuzzi area but this was not working during our stay. Eucalyptus Bar by the
Pool sold a wide range of snacks both hot and cold, all the drinks available you could expect from a pool bar, we had snacks and drinks regularly, the kebab, tomato, onion& tzatziki wrap was delicious 😋
Breakfast was Continental style with lots of choices, the ladies always remember your tea or coffee order each morning too.
Location was a short walk to the Main Street to the beach and all the restaurants, the pedestrianised walkway was long and full of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Would recommend the Stifado at The Volcano bar, where you can also eat at tables on the beach if You wanted.
One street in on the main road into Perissa was Dorian’s Bar which previous reviews recommended which we tried for drinks, we didn’t eat but saw the Gyros that were brought round from next door Grandma’s Recipes and looked huge but delicious.
Maria is very helpful professional and so lovely
Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable
Pool Food was reasonable price and quite nice
Felt safe in perissa
Good location 5 mins walk to beach, restaurants & bars
The negatives:
Pictures on website are very misleading as rooms are very basic and hotel is a little dated.
If air conditioning you have to pay €7 per day which was not mentioned by jet2 on website when booking
I’m minded to think the best rooms in the hotel were given to “friends” of owners who go every year.
You have to get up on your holiday at the crack of dawn to secure a bed by the pool as “friends” who go their every year put towels down first (even tho it stays no saving of beds.
If you secure a bed by the pool or even walk in the pool area when the guests who go every year are there it’s a little intimidating as everyone stares at you!
Breakfast was odd to say the least (consists of beetroot, fruit, hard boiled eggs & weird sausage) no hot option and not worth getting up for.
Last but not least: Yanni who has one rule for guests and another for his guest “friends” as he is rude, abrupt and we waited 1hr 30 mins for pizza and salad, but witnessed him laughing smiling and couldn’t do enough to put the football on by the pool for his friends. Nothing was too much trouble. When we asked for a drink was told the bar closes at 12 (this was 11.30) but reluctantly he gave us drinks then the friends sat round still drinking.

I think the problem is some of the reviews are misleading, written by “friends” who return year after year and get great treatment and good rooms. Why wouldn’t the hoteliers look after returning customers who set up tabs at the bar for two weeks? Good business. I think if you get a new room your experience will be better but I would avoid the standard rooms at all costs. This hotel has so much potential and where they have started to renovate you can see the vision and it’s going to be really lovely but at the moment there is a real clash between old and new. I was disappointed with the Artemis and Santorini. Instagram v reality anyone?
