Our stay at Villa Ilias was amazing and exceeded our expectations! The location was perfect and our room was very clean and had a balcony with a spectacular view (picture below)! The staff, especially Christina went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed including transfers from the port and to the airport, attraction tips such as winery’s and also organised the hire of a quad bike for us. The buffet breakfast was also incredible, with so many options made fresh from the island! I strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Santorini! Thank you Christina and the rest of the staff at Villa Ilias!
We booked this hotel based on some of the TripAdvisor reviews and let me say it did not disappoint. My wife and I spent 3.5 days there. The staff were extremely friendly and gave us a run down of the area when we first got there. Even though our room did not face the volcano, the view was spectacular. The room was a nice size and clean. The breakfast was amazing with the treat of the day. 10 min from Fira and plenty of restaurants nearby to dine in. The location of the hotel made for some amazing sunset views. Thanks to Christina and the awesome barman George for al your suggestions. Can't wait to return.
We booked Villa Ilias based on their reviews and we were not disappointed. We booked the Volcano West Facing room and wow, what a view! Seriously, photos don't do this view justice - it was just stunning. Waking up to the most glorious view across the caldera and over the white washed buildings, was truly beautiful. To be fair, these rooms are not fancy or overly modern, but they have character. And in addition to the location of Villa Ilias, the service here is so welcoming. You feel like you have been welcomed into their family. And George the famous barman, you were just a delight. Thank you to everyone at Villa Ilias we can't wait to return again one day. You made our holiday in Santorini the best we could have ever asked for.
We stayed in one of the smallest rooms with a window overlooking the path. The room was small, but it’s size did not bother me (my significant other though thought it was way too small). However, the bed was lumpy and hard and very uncomfortable. However, the morning breakfast, included in the rate, was simply amazing. One of the highlights for sure of our entire trip. The location also was incredible. It was only a 10 minute walk or so into Fira with unbelievable views the whole way. Also everyone at the hotel were wonderful. They recommended an excellent boat tour (Caldera’s Boats) which was one of the highlights of our week-long Greece trip. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel but I recommend upgrading to a bigger room just for a more comfy bed.
Santorini is truly a magical place to visit, especially in the beginning of October. While I'm sure that most hotels are beautiful, the service and generosity at Villa Ilias is UNMATCHED and I wished we could have stayed for longer. We stayed in the room overlooking Fira - the best in my opinion. My only recommendation (literally the only potential improvement) is for an upgrade in mattress. The room was clean and offered plenty of space for our 4 bags and two individuals. Breakfast is served each morning and is phenomenal - we chose to eat next to the pool area and face the caldera. The best way to start the day and offers privacy for your meal. Check-in and check-out are incredibly easy and one thing to note is that the property is next to the sidewalk that allows to to walk directly to Fira. However, unlike other hotels, your room and the pool does not back up directly to the sidewalk. While most tourists stop near the property to take pictures of the view, the gated pool and hotel are private enough to allow you immediate exposure. The best part about Ilias is Christina and George - so many amazing suggestions, always willing to help us get a taxi or car service, call a restaurant, and just provide advice for our stay. I cannot thank them enough for making our vacation so spectacular. If you are looking for the true Greek experience, stay at Villa Ilias.…
