Last Summer we had the best vacations of our lives in Milos at Tsakanos Accommodation. Milos is a small island in the Aegean sea where progress is slow. If you are seeking for 5* hotels, gourmet restaurants and sushi don't go there. The virtues of the island are the kindness of its people, the unbelievably amazing beaches and shoreline and the excellent Mediterranean cuisine. These reflects on Tsakanos property as well. Accommodation is not 5*. We had a spacious self catering Apartment, functioning in all respects (A/C, WiFi etc.). CLEAN. Breakfast was served everyday in the apartment at a time of our choice, so plenty full that we had to ask for things to be left out. Mrs Maria Vichou is a business woman with a lot of obligation, however, whenever we requested her assistance she willingly responded. In our attempt to visit as many places as possible we didn't visit to a vacation destination twice. Certainly we will revisit Milos and we will stay in Tsakanos properties.

Tsakanos was the most terrible hotel we have stayed in, accompanied by a rude owner who blamed us for the non-existent WiFi instead of assisting us. We booked an apartment for 4 ADULTS NOT 4 pixies - we had 3 adults in one small bedroom and the 4th person in a roll out bed in the kitchen- pathetic! Toilet and bathroom window looked into an office area which made showering awkward when staff were in there. Please do yourself a favour and DO NOT stay here, your money is better spent somewhere else. Rude owners do not deserve your money!

Everything went smoothly from being picked up from the Ferry taken to Tsakanos and being met by Maria who went through the apartment with us and then gave us some interesting and valued information on places to go etc with the map she provided for us. The apartment was lovely and clean, nothing grand, but then we hadn't gone there for grand otherwise we would have booked a five star hotel ! the apartment was cleaned everyday, new towels and bed made, the house maids are friendly and helpful, the place is in a great position about 5 mins walk from Adamas Port where the hustle and bustle is, but away from the noise and busyness sits this quiet home. just fab.. We had breakfast delivered to us every morning at a time that we specified which was 8 am, you have to bear in mine this is a Greek Island so your'll have Greek breakfast, probably not to every ones taste, if you want egg on toast with ketchup then go down to the Port where they will accommodate the Brit aboard! Thankfully there weren't any Brits there on the Island at all, well except us two, but we get in where the locals hang out whether that's Restaurants, beaches etc. Plenty of Restaurants at the Port, cars or Quad bikes to hire and local shops, also Sailing boats where you can book a sailing trip for the day and see the West side of Milos which you can't drive too.

We arrived late in the evening by Ferry, Maria the owner called us and had a car pick us up by the port and drive us to the hotel for free. We arrived and was greeted by Maria that showed us the apartment, where to get around, best beaches etc. She also got us an discount at the company close to us where we could rent scooters. The room we had was great, it was clean, big and perfect for a couple(or three people). The breakfast that was included came to us every morning to our doorstep to the time we wanted it to. Big breakfast with fresh food, drinks and fruits. The room was cleaned everyday and we got new towels when we wanted. The hotel is also very close to the port(4 minutes walk) which is very practical. When we left Maria organized a car to get us to the port, this time also for free. Would recommend the hotel and place for anyone. We will be back.

We stayed at the Tsakanos Home and thoroughly enjoyed it! Maria was a lovely hostess, who brought us a wonderful breakfast every morning right to our door. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and we loved sitting on our patio enjoying the peaceful spot. Located just off of the main road, a quick walk to everything in Adamas, we would highly recommend staying here!

Upon arriving at Milos Port we called repeatedly. No answer. When we went to the place the owner was there but said she would not have her phone on when she rests. Our reservation was guaranteed with credit card through booking.com. Somehow she assumed we were not willing to pay when we said we already had given a credit card. She called the police which showed up in force at our room. It took us some time to recover the vacation spirit after this experience. We don't even think her place Tsakanos Home has proper EOT certification. Certainly without working AC and electric wires dangling in the shower something seemed amiss.

The owner is very friendly and goes out of her way to help with advices, maps, and flexible requests. Tsakanos is in a great location, very near the port and close to all main amenities (supermarkets, restaurants, car rentals). The room was cleaned daily and breakfast served at the time we wanted, directly at our door (they missed one day though...). One downer: beds were a bit short, weirdly enough. But definitely recommended.
