Minoa Palace Resort stands out for its tranquil and cozy atmosphere, complete with live music that adds to the overall ambiance, although it may not fully capture a traditional Greek vibe for some. The cleanliness of the resort is a highlight, with guests consistently impressed by the pristine condition of both the pools and rooms. The amenities, including varied dining options, a spa, and beach access, receive high marks, along with the professional and friendly service that enhances the guest experience. While the hotel's value is generally appreciated, a few travelers note extra costs and unremarkable dining moments. The convenient location near beaches and local attractions, along with easy access to Chania, is frequently commended by guests.

Minoa Palace Hotel, Platanias, Crete, Chania 10th – 20th August Bungalow with Private Pool 2 adults and one teenager 17 years old. Arrived at Chania Airport on Easyjet flight decent flight and times, airport particularly good compared to Heraklion and seamless. Taxi booked via Transferz arrival and departure competitive price, great drivers and on time. I had advised hotel it was my wife’s birthday predeparture and communication was excellent. Arrived at hotel, room was ready and Kosta’s and the team on reception were superb.
Bungalow with private pool faced the main pool in older part of the hotel (not beach side) rooms looked refurbished and really superior quality, cleanliness standard was excellent (Poppi the housekeeper).
Breakfast is first class, and we could also have breakfast overlooking the beach if booked the day before, had a meal in Thalassa Beach Restaurant in the hotel which was Michelin star quality and service. We had to move room managed by Alesia in reception who was brilliant, it was a maintenance issue but only took 30 minutes and we had an even bigger room and pool so many thanks. Nothing was too much hassle for the staff whose motto is “anything is possible,” maintenance team had T shirts saying “what can I fix today” priceless! Entertainment low key which suited is, pianist, Greek musicians, DJ on beach Saturday and Sundays. Yoga and Pilates every second day and pool aerobics again the lady who did the Pilates was great. Stefanos lifeguard was really engaging and giving free swimming lessons to kids – really attentive. Grounds were spotless, could use two pools and also indoor pool and private beach. Had an excellent massage and spa staff are brilliant. I walked the Samaria Gorge on the 15th of August in 35-degree heat so would not recommend mid-summer but May or September wonderful experience and beautiful. Well organised and even in a group I enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Resort is great and runs into Agua Marina – great bars and restaurants not being pushy. Personal favourites as above Thalassa in hotel, Sunrise next door for lunch, Sonio, excellent and Kyano all beach fronts. The old town of Plato Platanias up the hill is lovely great War Tunnels and museum and excellent Sunset meal at Asteria.
Chania is stunning and 2.2 Euros on the local bus every 20 minutes stops outside the hotel, taxi approx. twenty euros one way.
We have never visited this part of Greece however will be back to explore more.
In summary perfect holiday made memorable by Zoi and all the team at Minoa Place Resort.

Rarely met such friendly people; both in the hotel and outside! We had an imperial room, and then you have a terrace with a water feature in front of it; Delicious! We were in the section on the beach side (the hotel is set up in two parts with a walkway over the road). It is wonderful to have breakfast on the edge of the beach. I would also advise not to go all-inclusive; the hotel borders a pleasant street with countless restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a delicious meal for little money (and of course with a glass of Raki afterwards!)

The private beach is lovely, but a pebble beach. So buy water shoes on site (or bring with you). Otherwise it would be impossible to walk on the beach.

Another big advantage; “Leaving a towel” to reserve your place is not allowed, and did not happen when we were there.

The breakfast at the hotel is great; there is no answer and there is plenty of replenishment until the last minute (you can have breakfast until 10:30 am).

The rooms, facilities and grounds are beautiful. The beds are very comfy, bathrooms well appointed and the air conditioning works perfectly. The basic restaurant is very good, but the beach side restaurants are actually very fine dining. The staff were wonderful and so helpful in every situation. We were staying here as part of our honeymoon trip and they absolutely spoiled us with treats and wine. The pools are very clean and there is a very sweet children's pool and playground that attracts families away from the more adult beachside facilities. All of the staff were wonderful, but a special shoutout goes to Katarina (not sure if I'm spelling it correctly) who went above and beyond and made every day here so very special.

The resort is situated about a 20 minute drive from Chania's Venetian Port and about 30 minutes from the Chania Airport. There is a car rental agency across the street from the reception. Bikes are also available to rent. This area of beach features small pebbles and while not impossible with bare feet, I recommend basic water shoes which are available for sale at a gift shop across the street from the reception.

We chose the MINOA PALACE hotel in Chania for the third time!

We stayed in the Imperial building by the sea. This wonderful Chania diamond has two buildings that are connected by an air bridge.

Welcome with a wonderful bottle of fruit wine and a discount coupon for a restaurant.

The hotel has that can make one relax swimming pools with pool bar, several restaurants, parking, sea view, rich breakfast, afternoon room care etc.

The rooms are very large with living room inside, comfortable balconies and the bathroom also large with shower and bathtub also inside. For the staff I do not discuss it smiling and polite everyone! Bravo to them!

Thank you very much staff and the owner!

See you again!

Only deserves 3.5-4 stars. Unheated garden pools, almost no one was swimming. Indoor swimming pool too little heated, cool too, normally it is around 29. Very large complex with gardens and small bridge towards the annex with sea view and large beach difficult to walk, sand and stones on a slope where you sink. After dinner several of us had serious and sudden intestinal problems. Fortunately short-lived. The hotel did not want to know anything about it and denied any responsibility. Even the barbecue was disappointing except the fish ok, because the "lamb" consisted of large pieces mostly bones, fat and little meat. The dinner buffets are just ok, often without taste or flavor, large choice however, but the noisy lobby/meals are not very pleasant, and the service leaves something to be desired, inefficient and unfriendly. Local wine expensive at 36 Euros and not great. But the waiters had time to chat among themselves. Go instead to Sonia beach or (especially for the green setting and old water mill) to the right towards? Mythos?. much further to the right. So go instead to the nearby Sonia beach or (especially for the great setting of trees, flowers and old water mill) to the right towards? Mythos?. much further to the right. Even at the Minoa Palace/beach restaurant, reserved for Imperial side sea view rooms, you had to ask 3 x to have hot water for tea and little selection apart from infusions. Nice room but ineffective air conditioning. One day, having a complete breakdown in the evening, I waited a long time for 2 interventions without the slightest result and preventing me from sleeping. With the window open it was fine. Repaired the next day. A plus: the receptionists are great and do their best, thanks to Alicia for her help. Platanias consists of a long, charming street of self-services, shops and bistros and Chania, which is a must, is 30 or 40 minutes away at 18 € taxi by ordering it 20 minutes in advance a little further down the street and at 22 Euros ordered by the hotel.

Having just returned from Minoa Palace for the 14th time, it is, as always excellent. The grounds are beautiful and always very well kept. All the pools are fresh water. The pool area is very clean and well looked after and the pool itself is also very clean and well looked after. The room is a good size and has everything you may need. It has a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities and there is also an espresso coffee machine too. The en-suit also has everything you may need. The products are a good quality and there is shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand/body cream, tooth brushes with tooth paste, shaving set, vanity set (cotton buds nail file etc) shower cap, soap and the statutory shoe shine kit. The room was cleaned to a high standard every day ( unless you didn't want it cleaned) and towels changed every day. The food is a highlight of the hotel and there is so much to select from it's unbelievable. The breakfast is amazing too and again so much to select from. Their honey and orange juice (not together) is unbeatable. All the staff without exception are friendly and lovely. Staff will do anything they can to help you. For example, I wanted an extra large towel every day, no problem. I also wanted a bigger dressing gown / robe, no problem at all. Anything you want, just ask and it will be done for you. You have to try this hotel, you will not be disappointed. We shall go again next year.

beautiful hotel located on the outskirts of Platanias, within walking distance (a few minutes) of the lively bars, restaurants, shops.

We stayed in the Imperial section, right on the beach. This part can be reached from the main building via a bridge over the beach boulevard.
We booked a room with a lateral sea view - king-size bed, large windows, large walk-in shower, large flat-screen TV, well-maintained room...but a bit little storage space.
Safe is free and sufficiently spacious, user-friendly (experienced differently several times).
Sufficient, practically new bath towels, in all sizes.
Very clean environment, both in the imperial section and in the main section.
Provided meals in the evening with sufficient variety (just cross the bridge, not a five-minute walk).
Friendly people at the reception, always ready, also by telephone.
Cheap, tasty snacks available at the beach bar, at reasonable prices.

Negatives: shampoo and conditioner were not replaced during our stay, maybe we had to ask for it at the reception?
Coffee (Illy) to pay for, which, considering the price we paid for the stay, was a bit meager.
Did not receive a detailed invoice at check-out, but it is in the margin, as we make it a habit to pay in cash during our holidays.
Biggest annoyance: no cushions on the sunbeds on the beach, which seems unworthy of a five-star hotel.

Anyway, there's a good chance of returning next summer

.

From start to finish an amazing experience! The hotel and it's grounds are spotless! The staff here work so hard to not only keep it that way but to keep their guests happy too. Over the week we never saw a member of the team without a smile on their face! They clearly love what they do and it shows.
We were made to feel special the moment we arrived. We got out of our private transfer and had our bags taken off us and checked in with the offer of a cold drink. We were shown to our room (which was upgraded to an imperial private pool room complimentary due to our honeymoon) by a lovely member of the team who explained everything about the hotel and what to do if we needed anything.
We went Bed & Breakfast because there are so many good restaurants within walking distance we didn't want to stay in one place to eat every night but the breakfast was incredible, tasty, plentiful and with a large variety.
The very best bit was no sunbed wars! The whole experience is relaxed so no one reserves sunbeds, people come and go and take their belongings with them which means plenty of room for everyone. The Imperial pool was quieter than the main pool over the road with different atmosphere's but still both as amazing as each other! The beach was busy and you do need to be a little quicker to get a sunbed here but it really is no big deal to walk down and have a swim.

Overall the best honeymoon one could ever wish for. The hotel does welcome families but it is definitely not an action packed place for children to go. If you have kids that are happy playing in the pool all day and/or spend time sightseeing than you will enjoy it here. The children that were there at the same time were all so well behaved!

Thank you Minoa Palace you were amazing! We will without a doubt be back!

Minoa Palace Spa & Resort is nicely located by the sea shore with clean view. The hotel offers tasty food and the cleanliness is good. Spa has a rich variation of offers. The staff put extra offers and a special gift was well received.

On the oher hand, there was more rigid sea regulations for swimming than experienced before. The booking system for gym and sauna was beuracratic and did not provide needed flexibility.
In general the staff was friendly and service minded, but with a few exceptions. There is need for better training and leader education of the staff. We found it disappointing that the cleaning personnel often neglected to refill shampoo and toilett paper. As well there was a coffe maschine in room but no resupply with coffee capsules. These inconvenients took down the overall impression.

Dear 982magnes, We wish to express our appreciation for your preference in Minoa Palace Resort and also for taking the time to share your experience with us on the Trip Advisor community. We were glad to read that the Resort’s surroundings and facilities have met your expectations. However, we have noted with special concern your comments and we are really sorry that we seem we have failed to meet fully your expectations as a five star property. Starting with the sea regulations mentioning at your review, we would like to inform you that as a hotel we don’t have any restrictions concerning the beach and swimming at the sea. We indicate the severity of the wind with flag colors. Other than that any individual is free to enter the sea at any point, on their own responsibility, if the weather is not good. As a 5 star hotel, our main and first responsibility is the safety of our guests and we follow all the procedures needed in order to achieve that. We feel sorry that the booking of gym and sauna felt inconvenient for you. Kindly please be advised that the booking of the gym can be done from both the reception and the guest relations office. Although due to Covid-19 protocols we keep a maximum number of participations in order to maintain the distance between the guests and avoid crowding. Sauna service on the other hand, can be booked directly to the Spa reception and upon availability they will give you the available dates and times. Please keep in mind that last minute reservations are not easy to be allocated as the hotel is full. On this point we would like to point out that as hotel and as Management Team, we feel proud for all of our professional staff and we are very confident that we have achieved high quality training and we are delightful that the impact of it is mentioned to almost all the comments and reviews we receive. As our guests' comments are valuable to us, your suggestions and remarks, on all levels, are more than welcome and they make us improve our quality of service. Although it is disappointing for us to read we have failed to do so this time and we hope that this review is not a resultant of our inability to provide you with the requested free meals for your whole stay to our restaurants due to you profession as Reviewer. We particularly appreciate your time and please rest assured that your well intentioned feedback will be taken seriously into consideration. Thank you once again for choosing us and we wish you a great winter season!

Just spent two weeks here and it has been perfect. With customer service being excellent from start to finish from check in to cleaners.

Our room was a mountain view and it was so lovely and quiet. The beds and pillows are soooo comfy. Nice big towels, good quality toiletries along with a hairdryer and a good size balcony made our two week stay easy.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis purely because we like to go out and explore the local areas but we did eat at the pool bar, the Italian and the grill restaurant on the beach and the food was delicious.

There is an amazing lady called Zoe who deals with customer relations who is there to not only help with any queries you may have at the hotel but also has a wealth of local knowledge and information regarding the island. We hired a car through her and it was effortless, the car was dropped off and picked up from the hotel all we did was pay. Zoe also provided us with some idea's of places to visit and even gave us an idea of roughly how long it would take so we could plan our trips.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Yes there was a nightly tourist tax to be paid despite the fact we booked a package hotel. I can't recall the exact amount for a week but I think it was around euros 20 per room, don't quote me!

You have to choose the full board option and then when we arrive you can upgrade from full board to all inclusive for an extra 20 euros per person, per night.
