My husband and I booked this holiday two days before departure. We were not disappointed. This is a family run business, so more personal that bigger hotels and complexes. We were met off the bus by Maria, who owns the apartments with husband George. Maria was all masked and visored up according to government guidelines. After booking in and a rundown of guidelines we had to adhere to we were shown to our room, which was a studio apartment that slept four. The apartment was spotless. The views from our terrace, although not a sea view were equally beautiful. We looked over olive groves and hills. We discovers we had a broken shower head and within 20 minutes of reporting it George had been in the room and had replaced it, great service!! We paid up front to Lofos for our breakfast for a week getting one day free. Again strict guidelines are in place to get breakfast but this didn’t inconvenience us in any way. There is a breakfast and lunch menu at the bar and the food was very good. Unfortunately there’s not a dinner menu so it’s either downhill to the strip or uphill to Piskopiano village and beyond. Either way there’s a hill to climb! The staff will order a taxi if required. Talking of staff, they are very friendly and so welcoming, big shout out to Gorgia. I’m sure she was smiling but couldn’t tell for her face mask 🤣 Sun beds around the pool are an issue because of social distancing. Some people were up really early to get a sun bed but be warned if you’re not on the sun bed at that time your towels will be removed for the other guests, the way it should be!! There are plenty of tables and chairs to utilise until a bed becomes free. The pool is restricted to 16 people but the most I saw in at one time was 12 so there were never any cause for the staff to intervene. Whilst round the pool there are notices requesting that people do not consume their own food or drink. This is not Lofos looking for more people to spend at the bar, this is a government taxation law, so please don’t take it out on the staff they’re just following the law! All in all we had a great and relaxing time. My heart’s breaking for the apartments and businesses round about now that U.K. has put Greece on the quarantine list. The businesses were struggling while we were there and this is a huge step backwards for them. They don’t get any help from their government the way some countries have. This was our first trip to Crete but it will not be our last. Beautiful island, beautiful weather and beautiful people.

We stayed here from 4th of Sep to the 15th, what a wonderful place, great location , approximately 30 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes walk to the beach & a short distance to piskopiano village where there's plenty of tavernas and shops.
If you don't enjoy walking there's a taxi service and buses but they are only available on the main road, ask for in for at the apartment reception.
More about the apartments, on our arrival we were welcomed by Mariea who was waiting for our arrival as we got of the coach, we felt very safe.
Our apartments were spotless, however due to the covid situation you had to request to have your apartment to be cleaned and ask for towel changes the night before but we didn't find this a problem, everywhere in the complex was spotlessley clean and we felt very safe throughout our stay here.
I have stayed in many places and I can honestly say this has been the cleanest of them all.
The food here is delicouse , you can have a buffet breakfast at €8 or there's individual options , for example beans on toast , scrambles eggs on toast and there's a good selection of meals snacks during lunch time up to:15:30
All the staff here are very friendly and helpful and they all work very hard to keep you happy and safe, it's true what they say, you arrive as a guest and leave as friend.
We will be returning some time in the near future,
Thank you to Mariea, George , barmen Costas, Yannis & All of the lovely staff, sorry I can't remember everyone's names, thank you all for making our holiday a safe, happy and memorable one, bye for now, Gizella, Mark , Abigail & Josh. X

We stayed as a couple for the last 2 weeks in August and had a lovely time, we stayed in a studio which was spotlessly clean with a good shower, fridge and basic cooking facilities which we never used. The bed was two singles pushed together which was fine and very comfortable, plenty of room for two. The apartments have a good pool and bar with snacks available, there was also a breakfast option but we didn't use this, preferring to go out and eat in the nearby villages.
Lofos is in a good position about 15 minutes walk uphill to the three villages of Old Hersonissos( probably more like 20 mins to walk here), Piskopiano and Koutaloufari where there are many excellent restaurants and bars all offering good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Hersonissos (15 mins downhill) was a lot busier but did have some nice bars and restaurants beside the sea, although our preference was for the 3 lovely villages.
The slogan is "arrive as guests and leave friends" and this is true because all the staff were absolutely brilliant, they are all talkative and genuinely want to know about your day, really wanting to make sure you have a good holiday. The only issue we had was the sunbeds around the pool were often taken up! I think there was less of them because of the social distancing rules, but it didn't really detract from our stay because you could often get one from about 3 oclock onwards and that was enough time for us to lay in the sun.
In conclusion we would go again in a heartbeat the apartments are really lovely with great staff, situated from three lovely villages and a busy area down by the sea, thanks for a lovely holiday, hope to be back soon! Tony and Paula.

My daughter and I travelled to Crete in August and chose to stay at the Lofos Apartments and I would definitely recommend a stay here. The rooms are basic but very clean, the beds are super comfortable but it's the staff that really make the place a cut above the rest. Each and every staff member we came across were helpful, polite, efficient and very hardworking; nothing was too much trouble for them. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was well worth the money. The staff were very Covid aware and always wore masks and took great care with cleaning. Even though we travelled in strange times the staff and Lofos Apartments made sure we had a great holiday. I'd highly recommend you visit.

Our family stayed at Lofos in July. On arrival we were greeted by Maria and we were able to take a seat in the bar and enjoy a drink whilst we filled out all the arrival paperwork which is a nice way to be welcomed rather than standing in a reception area. First impressions of the hotel were that the staff were friendly, the drinks and food were good (we had lunch on arrival) and that the pool area was quiet with good views. We then checked into our room which we found to be very small. We had an apartment which had a small bedroom with 2 single beds and a sofa bed in the kitchen area which our son slept on. The air conditioning unit was in the bedroom so unfortunately he was not able to feel the effect of this as much as we could in the bedroom. There was very little hanging space for clothes and no full length mirror but the room was clean and fine for a week. The room was cleaned 3 or 4 times during our stay, although we did notice that after a trip to the beach where our son brought back sand in his swimming shorts, the shower and bathroom was covered with sand for the rest of our stay in spite of it having been cleaned! Our sleep was disturbed in the room due to dogs at a nearby property often barking - of course there is nothing that the hotel could do about this. We had a nice terrace to sit out on, this was frequented by stray cats which was not appreciated. We stayed on a B&B basis, the breakfast was ok, not much variation from day to day but good to know it was there so no having to get up and out in the morning in search of food. We ate quite often in the restaurant at lunchtimes, the food was good and service for food and drinks always good. The pool area is small but nice, never had a problem getting a sun bed but the staff are willing to bring more out if required. The pool is very deep so something to watch out for if you have kids or are not a confident swimmer. The staff were always helpful at reception with any questions we had. Ava (apologies if spelt wrong) did seem to be on patrol a lot watching the guests which was a bit off-putting sometimes! The location of the hotel is great with Hersonnisos harbour down the hill, Piskopiano, Old Hersonnisos and Koutouloufari up the hill - we walked to all and found lots of really nice restaurants. It is a tough walk back up the hill from the bottom so do bear this in mind if you are not fully fit!

Lofos Apartments are simply amazing. George, Maria, Eva, Nikos and Iwana plus the rest of the staff are the best. This accommodation is so much more than 3 star. The rooms are perfect, little touches like mattress and pillow protectors, halogen cooking hobs and superior showers go above and beyond expectations. Rooms cleaned regularly with bedding and towel changes. Snacks are good value, tasty and reasonably priced. The views from Lofos pool area are not to be missed ( loved watching the sunrise, the buzzards and the mountains. The atmosphere around the pool and in the restaurant was so relaxed, enhanced by the superb music choices, easy listening at background music levels. Love a cheeky bottle of wine when the mood takes you!! Lofos have there own wine by the bottle, white, rose and red, all are excellent, and again reasonably priced.
Summary: excellent.

Our 4th year visiting the lovely Lofos Apartments, every year they make us so welcome and make us feel at home. We have 3 kids aged 10, 7 and 5 who adore all the staff new & old.
This year our holiday was even more precious due to Covid uncertainty, however George, Maria, Adna, Dimitra, Kostas, Georgia and the rest of the team made us feel 100% safe. I’m an early riser and noticed all loungers chairs etc being steam cleaned every day before pool opened.
I cannot think of anywhere better to enjoy a holiday if you want a relaxing break, perfect views of mountain and sea. There’s a beautiful pool which is a perfect size for families and couples alike, we can actually relax knowing the kids are safe & we can see them from all areas around the pool. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, kids enjoyed all their ice creams, juices & gyros 😁 We enjoyed the cocktails & wine 😁😁
Thank you Lofos for a wonderful time, we’re counting down to our next visit
Ps.... if I could I’d give you 10 stars 🌟 xxxx

We stayed at the Lofos Apartments for two weeks at the end of October 2021 (at the end of the holiday season) in room 9. We had a wonderful holiday here. Very good (in our opinion) quiet location a short walk (5 – 10 minutes uphill) to Piskopiano village and (10 – 15 minutes downhill) to Hersonissos (busier seaside resort). Piskopiano is quiet village but with plenty of restaurants for dining out. Hersonissos was far busier with an abundance of restaurants / snack bars / promenade / small marina / shops / bars etc. Very good location to explore the local area by foot or by car. The area was very pretty and felt very welcoming. The locals seemed very pleased to see you.

Maria and her team were all lovely, from the warm greeting we received at reception to the very personal send off on departure (meticulous at saying goodbye to every guest) at the end of the stay. We can’t really compliment them enough on how welcome we felt at the hotel. The staff couldn’t do enough for the guests.

Very well decorated modern and spotlessly clean room with comfortable beds, small storage area for clothes, cooker hob and sandwich toaster (pans, utensils, plates, glasses etc). Room was smallish but manageable. No TV. Perfectly adequate bathroom with large shower area. There did appear to be an issue with the hot water which was sorted after a couple of days. Additional charge for air conditioning and safety deposit box. Wi-fi in the room was a bit intermittent and a little slow.

Lovely balcony area with a clothes airer. There was no roof to our balcony (easterly direction) which was ideal for us. We got the sun on a morning and shade later in the day when it got a little too hot.

Cleaning service was excellent, three times a week to change towels / empty bins / clean rooms.

Food in the snack bar was excellent and very reasonably priced. We ate here five times (gyros, pizzas, sandwiches etc).

Felt very safe from a COVID point of view, both at the hotel and in the local area. Staff wearing face masks, hand sanitiser at tables etc (far better than back in the UK).

Did not use the pool, breakfast or bar so cannot comment on those.

Only downside is that we only booked for two weeks, should have stayed a little longer.

We've just returned from a 2 week family holiday. We were greeted from the bus and made to feel very welcome from the start. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming and do all they can to make your stay pleasurable. Staff will go above and beyond to help visitors have the best experience - we had a little lizard in our room 1 night which scared my youngest son but the staff helped to get it from the room.

We travelled at a time when covid-19 is still very much in the news and so there are some changes to practices. Rooms are not cleaned everyday but you can request a clean/change of towels giving 24 hours notice but this really had no negative impact on us. There are a restricted number of beds around the pool to allow for appropriate social distancing.

We ate in the pool bar a few times and the meals are very reasonably priced and the ice cream is amazing. The cookies flavour was a firm favourite! All of the staff wear face coverings at all times and alcohol gel is readily available.

When it was time to leave we were waved off by the owners which added a really personal touch. We hope to holiday here again in the future. Thank you to everyone for making our stay an enjoyable one 😊

So let start with the positives.

As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Maria and her staff and all of them couldn’t do enough to make sure every part of our holiday went as smoothly and relaxing as it could possibly be right until the end of our stay. They were fantastic from start to finish.

The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. The rooms were basic but they were refreshed and cleaned every other day.

A breakfast option was on offer for an extra daily cost and although we didn’t partake we did do lunch quite a few times and every meal we had was really tasty and reasonably priced - especially the Greek Salad which was a personal favourite.

You have a choice for the evening. When you come out of the hotel turn left up to Piskopiano, Heronissos Village (bit of a walk but worth it) or Koutouloufari. Or right down to Heronissos Town. Maria recommended left and I wouldn’t argue. Much more authentic and rustic. Excellent choice of restaurants and bars, (everyone was so polite and there was no pressure or hard sell for you to go for food), shops selling local handmade wares and the usual holiday junk. The town is much more commercialised and wasn’t to our liking (maybe 25 years ago but not now!!)

The negatives

The location of the hotel is 2/3rds up a very steep hill so if you have walking difficulties then it may no t be suitable unless you’re happy to pay for a taxi (I believe around about €8 from the Heronissos Town). We visited the town quite a few times as there was much better Supermarkets and did walk up but I’m not going to miss that hill now I’m home.

We were surprised that we had to pay for air conditioning at €10 a day but it was so hot it was a must.

Like a lot of places in Greece the pool was the biggest and there is a bit of a scramble for sunbeds. Lots were reserved by 7:30 am with the pool opening at 8:00am but then it was very frustrating that some people wouldn’t then arrive at the pool area buy 11am or sometimes even late afternoon. It would have been much better that after a given time the towels were removed for other guests to use the beds. Also sometimes the music around the pool wasn’t “family friendly” with quite a lot of bad language - I stress sometimes not all the time!!

So would we go back? Absolutely. It was so relaxing, the staff were fantastic and we loved the rustic villages and food.

There are quite a few stairs on the premises but there are some apartments with only about 5 or 6 steps to access them. They would be manageable. You would be best to ask when booking.
