We've stayed several times at this beautiful property and had some delicious meals, but Christian Germain pulled out all the stops this time for us to celebrate an 80th birthday in perfect style. Thank you so much for making the whole thing so special with fantastic food, amazing wines, a crazily clever birthday cake and attentive professional staff. We had... More

We stayed here for one night in a second floor room. We had booked parking, but got a space right outside and didn't use (or have to pay) for the booked space. The room was very spacious with a separate lounge area and we loved it. The bed was very comfortable, we slept well, and the staff friendly and welcoming.... More

This is a luxury hotel and charges accordingly. It has very good staff and a nice location. But some of its rooms need investment and the food is good but over-priced. The dining room is small and other conversations are easily overheard. We were pretty unimpressed both by the charge of 12 euros for the run-down secure parking area and... More

In an ancient walled town and within its own walls, with immaculate gardens, this charming hideaway has been recently decorated ( someone said after a fire ).... the generously sized bedrooms, comfortable sitting rooms and stylish restaurant are well worth a visit if planning a stay in the area... even if only for Tea in the garden... we will be... Just wanted a day or two away within an easy drive. Booked this hotel in this village and kept finders crossed. It worked. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful old village. Medieval ramparts and cobblestone streets. Hotel room was very large and well decorated. Staff were very helpful and got a room upgrade on arrival.

The entire experience here was simply outstanding. Arriving on a cold afternoon late May the warmth of the welcome immediatley put us in a good frame of mind. Taken to our room we were blown away with the (very) large four poster bed with steps unto it. We had a large room overlooking the front garden. We then went down... More

We have been staying off and on for the last 12 years as an annual treat mainly with our now 13 year old son. This place is perfect if you are a looking for a lovely location within a really lovely small town. The chateau is a large country house rather than a castle with individually decorated rooms as well... More

What a great hotel. Old fashioned, huge and very comfortable bedrooms, with great attention to detail. The gardens are beautiful. The staff are very welcoming. And a fantastic restaurant, with amazing food. Would I go back? Definitely.

We have been coming here for many years and it never fails to please. We were given the panelled room with a four poster bed with lots of windows and a smal Juliet balcony overlooking the main entrance and gardens. Very comfortable with a huge bathroom and his and hers wash basins. We sat with all the windows open and... More

Montreuil has plenty of hotels, but this is definitely superior to the others. The hotel is quite tucked away, which can make finding it is a bit difficult (so follow the instructions which will arrive with your reservation, if you book in advance over the internet), but the advantage is that it's a haven of peace and quiet. The rooms... More
