Our six days in La Salvetat in early September was our third visit to the Auberge. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Steve, Ann and their very good staff are there when needed, but otherwise they leave you in the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful surroundings. Bedrooms are basic, but comfortable and in our opinion the... More

You will receive a warm welcome from owners Steve and Ann Jordan. Our fourth stay here, clean simple rooms with rustic charm, a fantastic position with fabulous views from the terrace over the infinity pool. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace were as ever excellent with dinner being a "Fine Dinning" experience.

Thank you for such a super review of Auberge de La Salvetat our small family run hotel in the Dordogne Perigord Noir. We are delighted you found the welcome, room, food and location were all still up to standard – they are some of the reasons many guests return year after year. We work extremely hard to surpass the expectations... More

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful Auberge during a cycling trip through the Dordogne area of France. The location, views and food were superb. Many of the guests return each year and we hope we will return as well. Thank you Steve & Ann for a wonderful stay at your Auberge!

Thank you for your super review. The heading says it all and the ‘The Quintessential Auberge’ means we have certainly ticked the boxes during your stay on your cycling tour of this fantastic area! We look forward to seeing you next time you visit. Kind regards Steve and Ann Jordan and the La Salvetat team More

We have now stayed several times at Auberge de La Salvetat, and I always come away refreshed and relaxed. It is a wonderful place to go and Ann and Steve Jordan are wonderful hosts who run the place brilliantly. We usually request a room with air-conditioning (in fact we have a favourite room that we consider "ours"!). We go half-board,... More

Well, what can I say except thank you so much for such a super review - it sounds like you have fallen in love with Auberge de La Salvetat just as we did when we first visited in 2003 (only we ended up buying it!). Our aim is to make our guests feel at home and it is good to... More

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a larger holiday in the region and were able to visit many of the Dordogne's exceptional locations during this time recommended by Steve at La Salvetat - eg Monpazier, Belves, Beaumont, the gardens at Marqueyssac and the city of Bergerac All meals were excellent in presentation and taste with local ingredients where... We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Auberge de La Salvetat and sampled a little of what this beautiful area has to offer. You are quite correct when you say the Dordogne has exceptional locations – stunning gardens, unspoilt villages, bustling markets, caves and chateaux and of course the Bergerac wine area. Glad that you appreciated the cleanliness our... More

Another fantastic stay at this lovely auberge (my favourite place in the whole of France!). Steve & Ann, the owners, have thought of everythng. The infinity pool overlooks a field leading to the forest. There are loungers, with cushions and umbrellas. Steve is the perfect host, organising anything you want. The food is great. We were on half-board, so each... More

We love it here too! So rewarding to hear that we are ticking the boxes. Our demi-pension or half-board option is very popular as the menu choice is based around our current menu. The demi-pension menu suggestions are actually Ann’s domain though. Ann makes different suggestions every evening for every client (sometimes for stays of up to 17 nights) taking... More

Our three night stop at La Salvetat was part of a larger trip to the region. I studied and worked in Bordeaux in the early 90's and my Danish wife had never been to Bordeaux or this put of France so our 15th wedding anniversary seemed a good time. After Bordeaux we headed to La Salvetat. I had never visited... More

Cadouin, our nearest village is so pretty (and full of history) that everyone falls in love with it! La Salvetat really is a special place isn’t it? This is the quietest hotel in which I have ever stayed. Set back from the (very minor) road in 10 hectares of wild-life-friendly land, and about 2.5 kilometres from the nearest village (Cadouin), this auberge is the epitome of tranquility. We had a "Garden" room. The size was perfectly adequate, it was comfortable, practical (goods storage, enough power sockets), and... More

Well, what can we say – except that we couldn’t have written a better advertisement if we had done it ourselves! Third consecutive year that we have returned to the Auberge but the first time in June (spoke to others during our stay who were returning for 5th and 8th time!). Standards remain consistently high.
