This hotel is absolutely amazing. We managed to book a late skiing deal through Crystal Ski and was pleased to choose this hotel. To start with, the lady on the front desk, who I assume is the owner is one of the hardest working managers I have ever seen. She is up early in the morning for breakfast and is helping out with serving dinner in the evening. She never takes any time off. She runs an extremely tight ship and her staff are very professional and always smiling. The hotel room was really nice - think of a Travel Lodge style with an Austrian take. The beds were amazingly comfortable with crisp clean sheets and linen. Flat screen TV, table and chairs, phone etc. The bathroom was very clean. And the shower, OMG the shower was epic. Hot and like a rainfall - Epic after a days skiing! Now, the best part of the hotel was the food. We went for the half board option and I can’t stress enough how good the food was. The breakfast was a mix of cereals, fruit, yogurts, meats, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, fresh orange or apple juice, tea and coffee on tap and bread rolls. The food was replenished very quickly by the staff, who always seem to be smiling. The evening meals were nothing short of amazing. The salad bar was plentiful and uniquely Austrian. The soup each day was freshly prepared and not from a packet. The main meals were beautifully cooked and presented - each night was a different dish. There were special themed occasions from candle light dinner to local market food to chefs special. The puddings were awesome each night. I can honestly say that the food from this hotel is some of the best food I have ever tasted. I actually came back from this skiing holiday weighing more than I did at the start of the holiday. There is a bar area so if you fancy a beer after dinner… The staff are all very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is a big heated ski room for your ski equipment which has a separate entry door so that you’re not traipsing though the hotel with your ski equipment. You can access the ski room from inside the hotel in the morning. The ski room is locked at 8pm and is fully secure. We didn’t make use of the swimming pool or the sauna but to be fair, after a day skiing and epic food, we just vegged out in front of the TV. There is free Wi-Fi which is fast and reliable. This hotel is so good that we have booked to come skiing here again in Jan 2023.

Room Tip: The ski bus stops right outside the hotel door. The village centre is only a short 10 minute walk.

Just returned from our first ski trip to Austria since lock down. Rauris is a lovely little village excellent ski schools for families with small children wanting to learn to ski. Would have liked more nursery slopes for beginners, found the blue runs a little bit too steep in some areas. Ski bus stopped outside hotel which was brilliant. Hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy meals were excellent and catered brilliantly for my husband and i who are vegetarians. We used the swimming pool and realxing spa area which was lovely. It was my birthday whilst on holiday and the breakfast table was decorated which was a lovely surprise and very thoughful. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a lovely ski trip with our two children aged six and nine. Rauris is a lovely resort which is ideal for kids and the hotel is about 1km from the main ski lift with a regular free bus service. The family room was large and comfortable and the swimming pool was great for the children after a long day skiing. The food was very good even for picky kids and vegetarian and the service was relaxed. Not much to grumble about. Pillows not great and beds quite squeaky. You can hear traffic from the road. Not loud enough to wake you, but does affect the tranquility. We would definitely come again.

Helpful, friendly and reasonably priced. Good basic menus for breakfast and variety of dinners, all tasty and sufficient. Hotel rooms clean and tidy, perfectly adequate for resting up after a day of skiing. Quiet location on the outskirts of Rauris, 10 min walk to the centre and regular bus down to the main skiing area. Couple of shops and restaurants and very peaceful.

I have stayed in a lot of top quality hotels and this is one of the best. The lady owner runs a tight ship and is very friendly and the same goes for all the staff, when you enter the hotel you will see how beautifully furnished it is. The food is very good and the wellness centre is out of this world. Lots of space in the heated boot room for skis ect l look forward to returning next year

The place itself and the food served in the hotel restaurant was overall very average, but the people working there managed to leave such a bad impression that I cannot give any other rating than terrible. Not only that the staff was incredibly arrogant from the very first day of our stay, simply everything was a problem for them, everything clearly bothered them, but the owners - woman running the place and her partner - were both positively insane, each of them in their own way. The man was apparently seriously ill - he would walk around the hotel only in his underwear, totally disoriented, could not fluently communicate, sad creature really... However one night he (we hope only accidentally) entered at 1:00 at night into a room of one of the girls of our group and lied in her bed. Of course that when she woke up it scared her to death. The women running the place was very inadequate when dealing with this situation, she laughed at us when we yelled at her WTF. She was not surprised by the situation at all (probably something like that happened already in the past?), she did not say she was sorry, she only repeated "what can I do, he is sick..." and laughed at us. Not OK. We called the police which is now investigating the incident. Do not stay there!

As an avid ski fan we discovered Rauris some 20 years ago & visit on average every other year. This year was the 11th time we've stayed at the Kristall. It's like a second home now. The staff & particularly the owner always give us a warm friendly welcome & are some of the most pleasant hotel staff we encounter on our ski trips. The rooms are big & spacious especially with all our ski gear you need extra room. The food is always well cooked & presented. Some traditional Austrian dishes & a speciality farmers buffet night. A candel light dinner is done mid week. Maybe the only slight critisism i would have is the menu can be a little pork heavy, but there is always choice & if you ask for something different they usually oblige. Not a lot of english channels on the tv but again only a minor point. Overall it's always a very enjoyable stay & enhances our ski holiday.

We spent here 3 nights. I need to be a bit critical to this hotel because they had 3 big negatives which I usually not meet when in Austria. 1. poor breakfast - vegetables, fruits and even any kind of eggs (except of boiled) you have to buy for surcharge 2. personnel was very brief. No smiling, no proactivity in ordering, simply they looked very frustrated. 3. windows in room were so poor that even was closed the noisiness from road came easily inside (even there is not big traffic). But be sure that last and first bus or lkw of day you will recognize... On the other side have to say that there were also some postives. Skibus by hotel, very nice wellness section, clean room, nice and "gemütlich" interior of hotel, ski room and pleasant swimming pool. Food was OK. Nothing extra but also not bad at all.

Just had a fantastic week's holiday in this hotel, wonderful food with a great selection of dishes, we especially enjoyed the tasty soups and the selection of salad dishes. Whilst away we celebrated our daughters birthday, the staff at the hotel helped to make it a memorable occasion by organising a cake for her. Would highly recommend.
