We spent here 3 nights.
I need to be a bit critical to this hotel because they had 3 big negatives which I usually not meet when in Austria.
1. poor breakfast - vegetables, fruits and even any kind of eggs (except of boiled) you have to buy for surcharge
2. personnel was very brief. No smiling, no proactivity in ordering, simply they looked very frustrated.
3. windows in room were so poor that even was closed the noisiness from road came easily inside (even there is not big traffic). But be sure that last and first bus or lkw of day you will recognize...
On the other side have to say that there were also some postives.
Skibus by hotel, very nice wellness section, clean room, nice and "gemütlich" interior of hotel, ski room and pleasant swimming pool.
Food was OK. Nothing extra but also not bad at all.

As an avid ski fan we discovered Rauris some 20 years ago & visit on average every other year. This year was the 11th time we've stayed at the Kristall. It's like a second home now. The staff & particularly the owner always give us a warm friendly welcome & are some of the most pleasant hotel staff we encounter on our ski trips. The rooms are big & spacious especially with all our ski gear you need extra room. The food is always well cooked & presented. Some traditional Austrian dishes & a speciality farmers buffet night. A candel light dinner is done mid week. Maybe the only slight critisism i would have is the menu can be a little pork heavy, but there is always choice & if you ask for something different they usually oblige. Not a lot of english channels on the tv but again only a minor point. Overall it's always a very enjoyable stay & enhances our ski holiday.

My wife and I stayed for a week, to ski in Rauris. Much about the hotel is as others have described - the bus stop right outside (you can set your watch by the reliability) and a good store room for skis and boots, and everything spotlessly clean, any minor problems immediately resolved (ie a pinged lightbulb).
What made it special was the friendly welcome, and the food. We were welcomed by name as soon as we arrived, and our room had a lovely view from the balcony (although it was too cold to sit out there!). The room itself was warm though, as was the whole hotel. There is a nice bar where you can enjoy a beer or two after skiing, and a swimming pool and wellness centre (although we didn't actually use it).
We had booked half board, with some hesitation because of past experiences in other hotels, but we need not have worried. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options to choose from every day. In the evening, there was a varied menu (it’s not a la carte so choose options in the morning) with four courses: appetiser, soup, main course (and extensive salad bar) and dessert. All served with a cheery smile by very friendly staff (several of whom speak very good English). We were also provided with a packed breakfast for the return journey to the airport, because we left early in the morning.
Thank you to all the staff at the hotel - everything was lovely and we had a great holiday.

I have stayed in a lot of top quality hotels and this is one of the best. The lady owner runs a tight ship and is very friendly and the same goes for all the staff, when you enter the hotel you will see how beautifully furnished it is. The food is very good and the wellness centre is out of this world. Lots of space in the heated boot room for skis ect l look forward to returning next year

Helpful, friendly and reasonably priced. Good basic menus for breakfast and variety of dinners, all tasty and sufficient. Hotel rooms clean and tidy, perfectly adequate for resting up after a day of skiing.
Quiet location on the outskirts of Rauris, 10 min walk to the centre and regular bus down to the main skiing area. Couple of shops and restaurants and very peaceful.

Just had a fantastic week's holiday in this hotel, wonderful food with a great selection of dishes, we especially enjoyed the tasty soups and the selection of salad dishes. Whilst away we celebrated our daughters birthday, the staff at the hotel helped to make it a memorable occasion by organising a cake for her. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely ski trip with our two children aged six and nine. Rauris is a lovely resort which is ideal for kids and the hotel is about 1km from the main ski lift with a regular free bus service.
The family room was large and comfortable and the swimming pool was great for the children after a long day skiing. The food was very good even for picky kids and vegetarian and the service was relaxed.
Not much to grumble about. Pillows not great and beds quite squeaky. You can hear traffic from the road. Not loud enough to wake you, but does affect the tranquility.
We would definitely come again.

The hotel has seen better days; everything is old and worn out – there's mold in the shower, and there's a hole in the wardrobe door. You only get one thin pillow, and the extra bed is a very uncomfortable sofa. There's no fridge or minibar. The breakfasts are the weakest I've ever had in a hotel – from the hot kitchen, there were only hard-boiled eggs, every day. No sweet pastries, scrambled eggs, or sausages. Coffee absolutely disgusting. Dinners were much better. The pools and saunas are nice, although the steam sauna only worked on the first day of our stay. The internet didn't work for 3 out of the 7 days. I wouldn't come back here.

Stayed in this hotel the last week in February as a family with young kids ! Feel I need to write a true review of the hotel and Rauris resort! Pluses ski bus stops right outside the hotel, cleaning is amazing in the rooms! Lady at front reception not the most accommodating, a dog at the front desk that will bite the hand off your child, so keep your children away! Barman is one of the most unaccommodating barmen I’ve ever met! Should be in a different industry and not in hospitality! Rolled his eyes on a few occasions when placing orders! On the food, we thought breakfast was the laziest breakfast selection we have ever experienced, only hot food was hard hard boiled eggs! Just one old school toaster that took forever to toast! Comical! Evening meal wasn’t a whole lot better, I’d say one evening meal out of the six was at best decent! We eat out one night when we seen the menu for that night! Amazing pizza restaurant 10 minutes walk away, it was well worth it, just to get really nice food! Rauris is a beautiful resort, but is definitely not for beginners, this was our second ski holiday as a family! I had skied years before, but none of my family, so all relatively new! My teenage kids were 100% on the slopes, my 8 year old and 7 year old were ok! But forget about skiing as a family anywhere on the slopes with any of them beginners, my 7 year old and 8 year old were ok going down the slopes with their instructor, the blues were very challenging in parts and were borderline reds! So didn’t feel comfortable taking them down most of the blues apart from number 2 slope that was still very challenging! My wife who is still learning didn’t go up the slopes and stayed on the nursery slopes, so no family skiing for the whole week! Rauris is an intermediate paradise and it really is not for complete beginners or family skiing for learners! My wife never got to practice her skiing on cruising blues because there are none unfortunately! I hope this is helpful for anyone planning a ski trip to Rauris!

Just returned from our first ski trip to Austria since lock down. Rauris is a lovely little village excellent ski schools for families with small children wanting to learn to ski. Would have liked more nursery slopes for beginners, found the blue runs a little bit too steep in some areas.
Ski bus stopped outside hotel which was brilliant.
Hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy meals were excellent and catered brilliantly for my husband and i who are vegetarians. We used the swimming pool and realxing spa area which was lovely.
It was my birthday whilst on holiday and the breakfast table was decorated which was a lovely surprise and very thoughful.
Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
