Meli Melo is absolutely my favorite hotel in Santa Teresa. Melanie and Frederic are great hosts who know the area and provide a secure, safe, lovely place to enjoy the area from. The location is perfectly in the middle of the best restaurants and surf breaks. You are less than 30 meters from the beach path, food and the grocery is only 100 meters away. The shared kitchen is clean and has everything you need to cook. And they have a beautiful pool so you can always stay cool. Muy bien! Tres bon! Very good!
Santa Teresa - one of the best beaches in Costa Rica - world's surf mekka! Hotel offers you very friendly atmosphere, with a common kitchen and dining room. Swimming pool gives you refresh until late evening. Beautiful beach - about 200 m from the hotel. Comfortable rooms with own bathrooms, garden with plenty of birds.
I was very happy with Hotel Meli Melo. It has a convenient location near the path to the beach and is a short walk to the things you might need in town (small local supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants). They also have a couple of bikes to borrow if you need to ride go further. The rooms are fairly basic but are very clean with AC and a comfortable bed. They have laid out the grounds very well so each room has its own shaded, semi-private area in front with some chairs, table, and a hammock. Owners and cleaning staff are friendly.
Lovely Hotel in Santa Teresa just a few minutes walk to the beach, great surf, to shopping and restaurants. Wake up to the singing of Birds, take a tropical rain bath, or a dip in the pool. Observe nature, the ants harvesting foliage, hummingbirds on hyacinths, or the magical rainbow forming at sunset while the warm rain drips down caressing your sun kissed skin. The proprietors are lovely and very helpful. They live onsite with their children and easily approachable respecting need for privacy. There is a shared kitchen should you wish to wip up some food.
I went by this hotel to pick up something two guests had brought in for me. When I arrived, I informed the owner that someone had left a package for me at reception. He informed me that he didn't know anything about it. I then asked him if he could ask the person who had been working at reception before him if they knew anything. He replied, "how can I do that if I just told you they are gone?". I replied that he could potentially call or send a quick message to ask so I wouldn't have to come back Bc this hotel is pretty far from town. His temper quickly escalated and he began raising his voice telling me I was on private property & to leave and come back. Honestly in the two weeks I traveled through Costa Rica, this was the worst I was ever treated & it was by a man twice my age. I felt uncomfortable & shocked.…
