To put it in a nutshell: Outstanding hotel in a beautiful surrounding but not the best value for money in my opinion. The staff and the pool were amazing. Breakfast was good, the service was exceptional, but you got an extra menu with standard options (toast and eggs etc.), not the fancy one where you could chose more interesting options (you had to pay extra for that). A little bit disappointing regarding the 320$ per night. Everybody was very helpful and super friendly, the surrounding was very picturesque. The beach was beautiful and easily accessible. As I mentioned above, the breakfast options were quite standard. The pool is brilliant, but there are only 3-4 sun loungers, which was never a problem but could be regarding the number of rooms. Also, you couldn't adjust them to lie on your belly. The sockets in the bedroom are behind the bed which is inconvenient if you have to use an adapter as well because that wouldn't fit at all. I usually charge my phone during night but have it on my nightstand because of the alarm in the morning. was also really disappointed, when I was told that, although Pranamar is labelled as a yoga retreat, the yoga lessons are not included if you book via booking.com. The lessons are outstanding, but if you pay 320$ a night, they should be included no matter where you book. I do understand that they have more profit if people book directly on their website, but if they don't want people to use booking.com, they should remove their hotel from booking.com. But the incident that bothered me most was that when we had to change locations we asked them to call a taxi for us. I've been staying in Santa Teresa for 2 weeks and went by taxi a couple of times. You pay like 10-15$ for a 20 minute car ride. Our new hotel was literally 5 minutes from Paranamar and I expected to pay maybe 5-10$ for the taxi (we were not told how much it would cost in advance). So when we arrived at our new hotel, the taxi driver charged 25$ and said he couldn't do anything about it since he was told to charge that much. I don't know if Pranamar only knows the most expensive taxi companies in whole Santa Teresa or if they get to keep the the majority of the money for providing the taxi companies with clients? It did feel like a giant rip off. Even the concierge of the new hotel talked to the taxi driver and in the end we "only" had to pay 20$ for a 5 minute taxi ride. Most expensive taxi ride I've ever had in my life!

We booked the entire property for our wedding. Our guests filled all the villas for 3+ days and we held the ceremony and reception on the beach. First of all, the property is magical. The setting is stunning, and the grounds are so lush. You're instantly transported to the vacation of your dreams. To top it off, the staff was welcoming and delightful, the food was superb, and the massages are heavenly. Most of our guests said it was the best trip they've ever had. I couldn't agree more. The photos on their website do not do it justice! I'll be back ASAP!

Great yoga classes and restaurant on the beach. We stayed near pranamar for a month and loved the yoga offerings . Nancy is a fantastic teacher and plans a great class for all levels. The yoga Area feels safe and they are careful to keep you away from others in your pod. They check temps before class. The outdoor restaurant by the beach is wonderful! We had a big family dinner and we all loved the service, food and atmosphere.

This place is more expensive than most of the fine dining establishments in my hometown in the US. $23 for a tiny piece of Mahi, some potatoes and a salad. $35 for mediocre pitcher of Sangria that took 25 minutes to get. We should of left then. You clearly pay for the view and not the food. There was also 2 people smoking during our entire meal which the waiter said was ok because they were on the beach, 20 feet away from us. Stay away, there are far better restaurants in the area than this.

We stayed at Pranamar for a week-long yoga retreat and it did not disappoint! It's off a very dusty road, so you'd never know the luxury that awaits. The bungalows and villas are beautifully designed with bamboo and other local wood and beautiful outdoor showers in the downstairs units. There's a pool right off the restaurant and the staff is friendly and so so lovely. They remembered all 25 of us on the retreat, by name! The attached restaurant, Kavita serves up delicious, and even healthy is that's what you're looking for, foods, for breakfast lunch and dinner. The beachside dining is out of this world! if you're looking to do major ocean swimming, this might not be the place for you. The beach right out front is pretty rocky. So at low tide, you have to wade out a bit (you can see all the rocks) and at high tide, you have to be very careful. But I did swim in the ocean 3 out of the seven days, and if you're not in the mood for a challenge, the pool is a perfect option. Also there are some gorgeous horses that live farther down the beach and can be seen wondering, out having a walk, now and then. Very magical! Keep your doors locked at night. The raccoons are wily! : )

Pranamar is my favorite place to stay in Santa Teresa! Every detail of the resort is designed and maintained with care. The villas and bungalows are beautiful! The property is a quiet and relaxing space to really sit back and unwind. Everything you need is on site; a beautiful pool, oceanfront hammocks, amazing yoga, outstanding food, the best massages. You never want to leave! The staff is exceptional. Every year we are greeted with the friendliest staff and the amazing owners. They make you feel like its your home away from home. If you are visiting Santa Teresa, staying at Pranamar is a must!

I keep coming back to Pranamar, either staying in one of their villas or just attending the fantastic yoga classes, or enjoying a massage, or lunching at the restaurant. It s such a beautiful and relaxing place. The Bali style buildings are now needing a bit of maintenance after these years, but nevertheless it s a piece of heaven, and the staff is super lovely. Iguanas, blue jays and racoons always pay me a visit, and I love it!

I loved my stay at pranamar villas it was just gorgeous and I was sad to leave. I flew into tambor from San Jose and pranamar organised a transfer from the airport to pick me up. From that moment on everything was taken care of for me. I was a solo traveller, just landed from London so was pretty exhausted but felt in safe hands. I was in Villa 5 which was huge, clean and simply decorated but very comfortable and very chic. There was an outdoor bathroom with a stone tub which was a nice treat! I am a yogi so loved Nancy’s classes. She is a through teacher. Very expressive, dynamic and fun. Her style suits everyone and I enjoyed practise with her. I also had a class with Amelie which was equally good and a high standard of teaching. The Shala is set next to the pool which is lovely and cool. Truest beautiful space with a Buddha wall at the back. I asked for my breakfast and yoga to be added to my overall stay so I paid for 1 class a day in advance. The food is just wonderful. Really fresh, lots of variety and really well presented. There is something for everyone on the menu. The staff are what make this place lovely. They remembered my name and normally knew what I wanted to eat and drink. The smoothies are a must (surfers paradise in the morning whilst sat on the beach is magical). The beach is lovely, but there is a big tide so in the morning the sea is far out but it exposes all the pretty rock pools. The beach is very rustic and natural which is gorgeous so if you love a long beach walk this place is for you! There is lots of wildlife kicking around also so if you enjoy bird watching there are lots flying around which creates a lovely peaceful environment. The retreat is a little in the middle of nowhere but I was only staying for a few days before heading on so it Didn’t phase me much as it has everything you would need for 3-4 days. The sunsets are stunning, a definite highlight of my stay, sat on the hammock watching it set with all its amazing colours. As a solo traveller I felt very safe and not out of place as the place is big enough for you to mix into the background. Everyone there has a lovely welcoming energy!

Fantastic rooms, great setting, and a very tranquil vibe made our Pranamar experience very special. All of the staff were fantastic but a special shout out to Alejandro, Bryan, Gabby, Miley, and Kimberly Christine who were not only attentive and helpful but fun to talk to and so welcoming. Susan and Greg, the owners, have really done a nice job building a first class resort and Susan's daughter Nancy runs the yoga program which was spectacular. Nancy is a great instructor as is Amalina who taught the evening class. My wife and I frequently did the morning and evening classes because they were so good. The restaurant, owned and run by Norman and Alessandra is awesome and the beachfront location they've created is quite special. The food and drinks were great, the service was first class, and the location was beautiful. Many mornings and afternoons it seemed that we had the whole beach to ourselves for what seemed miles and it spectacular. Pranamar is less than a 5 minute drive or short walk to one of the best surf breaks, especially for beginners, at Playa Hermosa. Every day we surfed there because the waves were so consistent. We will be back again next year.
