What a beautiful property with fantastic views of the ocean and jungle below! Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Be sure to carry shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We were able to see the most spectacular sunset from our balcony. It definitely helps to have a 4x4 as the road leading to Santa Teresa and up the hill to the hotel can be treacherous. Mora, our concierge, was very helpful.

Relaxed lodge in the middle of the jungle with view to the forest and the ocean. Very spacey rooms. Hammocks, kitchen and barbecue available. Friendly fast checkin and support. Long way up can be reached walking or by car. Pool with a view. Nice terrace and balcony.

Andy and Cota, owners, have an exceptional property and operation going on at the Surf Vista Villas. The view speaks for itself, but the structure and the individual rooms are open, bright, and very comfortable. Kitchens are key to keeping yourself fed when not everything is open down the hill (April-ish to late November). It's far enough off of the main road that you can get into the heart of Santa Teresa if you want, but you're far enough away that you don't hear much of the commotion. Best to have a car or quad if you're staying here, as the driveway is no joke on foot. Don't even try it on a bike. Carry a flashlight if you're walking up at night, and don't worry about the dogs about halfway up. They're very friendly but are just making sure you're not up to no good. Definitely will be back.

This place is awesome! The Villa is located up a hill which offers views for stunning sunsets and makes you feel like you're removed from the main town, which we really appreciated. It's spacious, clean, has a pool, and gives you a feel of being amidst the greenery and animals. Note that you absolutely need an ATV or scooter etc. to make the hike up the hill (you'll be needing one anyway if you want to roam around/explore Santa Teresa). Andy and his wife Cota were great hosts! We mainly communicated with Cota, who was kind, patient, and very helpful in arranging pretty much everything for us: surfing lessons, ATV rental, transportation to the airport, recommendations for tours/restaurants etc. Thanks for such a memorable trip, we hope to be back soon!

By far this was our favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica. It is a hidden paradise and one of the most spectacular views and sunset viewing areas imaginable. We had 3 adults in the Mar Azul suite and loved it! It is spacious and clean, and we really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor seating areas. The hammock is my happy place!!! The kitchen is perfect if you want to eat in. Kota was an awesome host, very helpful with suggestions of things to do and places to go, and even with directions when we had to reroute due to a closed road when leaving on our way back to San Jose :) The local grocery, Super Ronnie, was a daily stop and great value! They had everything from beer and wine to a meat counter, produce and staples. The pool and grounds were beautiful. The road in and out was an adventure, but added to the feeling of being secluded in paradise! Our morning greeters (Dexter and Mila) were the best! Can't wait to come back!

We had such a fantasitic visit here for our honeymoon. We stayed in the penthouse for a week and it exceeded all our expectations! We scheduled our activites everyday so that we were always back in time to watch the amazing sunset up there. Andy and Cota were so helpful with suggestions for food, atv rental, excursions, etc! I wish we could give this place 10 stars!

First off, the booking process was very simple after Andy + Kota answered a few of my questions via email. I was concerned about driving there as I’ve driven in CR before and was aware of the very unmarked roads. They sent me an email with explicit directions and landmarks. Very helpful. Found the place with no problem. On arrival, both Andy + Kota were both so friendly and helpful, treating my son and I just like houseguests. There were fresh cut flowers in our rooms. More than enough cooking appliances/ dishes. The property itself is beyond imaginable and was immaculate. Pool was clean and never too busy. It’s Quiet, far enough from road you don’t hear motorbikes, but close enough to town. Very Clean! No creepy crawly bugs in room, (as I’ve experienced elsewhere in CR) There is hot water, whereas many other places I stayed did not have hot water. Plenty of towels. Andy + Kota were helpful with recommendations and local tips. Dogs onsite were very friendly and gentle. Will definitely book this property again next visit to Santa Teresa.

We traveled to Santa Teresa to visit family living in the area and booked this hotel because of its location. This could be our new home away from home.We were impressed by the hotel’s services, the facilities, the staff, and the views are stunning. We loved the decor of our room-the lighting details and artwork. The outside living space was the big surprise with magnificent views of jungle and jungle life, beaches and sunsets. Cota was a wonderful host and we enjoyed ourselves so much. Can’t Wait to return to this wonderful hotel again… we highly recommend it!

There is nothing but amazing things to say about Surf Villa Vistas! We were in Santa Theresa for a week and a half and Surf Villa Vistas made our trip just that much better! Cota is an amazing hostess, she welcomed us upon arrival and through out our stay was very helpful with advice on all the local restaurants, beaches and things to experience while in the area. The property, as well as the accommodations are nothing short of amazing. We stayed in the Nicoya suite. It was so comfortable and has a full kitchen(big plus). Also the sunset view from the deck is unparalleled!!! I really wish we had stayed longer and definitely plan on making a trip back!

We stayed in the penthouse at the top of the villa. A magical place. It is such a wonderful feeling to be in the middle of the jungle and have a breathtaking view over the sea at the same time. What a splendid sunset ! The room has 180degree views and is surrounded by an outdoor kitchen, bathroom and deck. It is truly a special place. We went there as friends but we can imagine it is even more lovely for couples and honeymooners ! It doesn’t feel like a hotel per se, rather like renting a self-catered apartment. You feel cut off from the rest of the world - in a good way! - if that’s what you’re looking for. The manager Cota was super friendly and was always on standby to give us tips and recommendations. Location : Important to note that access to the property is difficult - you definitely need a 4WD. The villa is quite far from town so plan on taking the car up and down the steep road for any excursions you are considering.
