Nantipa is located in the heart of Santa Teresa, a Costa Rican authentic beach town with its own unique culture and style. Many define Santa Teresa as the new home for Barefoot Luxury, combining World Class surfing conditions, great yoga studios and instructors, superb cuisine and great nature and parks, all in a relaxed atmosphere that depicts Costa Rica’s Pura Vida lifestyle. Nantipa is found 150 meters south of the main Plaza / School, in a property that spans from the main road to the beach, presenting 155 meters (approximately 450 feet) of beach line. The property is heavily forested and has direct access to two swimming spots – one with natural ocean pools that form in the low tide – and is within close walking distance to the best breaks and waves. Nantipa offers 19 guest bungalows scattered in a 2.3 hectare property with 155 meters of beachfront. Most rooms feature full or partial ocean views, along with garden and pool views. Manzu is the beachfront restaurant, featuring Costa Rican authentic cuisine and spectacular views of the beach, ocean and sunset.

Nestled in the charming town of Santa Teresa, Hotel Nantipa - A Tico Beach Experience has won over guests with its serene atmosphere and modern comforts amidst natural beauty. Travelers consistently praise the hotel's amenities, particularly the private beach access, picturesque pool, and impeccable service. While the prime location is a hit for its blend of accessibility and seclusion, some guests feel the additional costs for amenities and dining can dampen the hotel's value. Rooms are celebrated for their design and views, although a few travelers note the beds could be more comfortable.

Natipa hotel is very very nice, best location in Santa Teresa and hidden in the jungle. The pool is lovely and has a beuatiful shape and green trees all around. The pool is very relaxing, not much people there.
The rooms are very big with luxury bathrooms and modern, nice design.
We highly recommend people to stay at Nantipa!

Our stay at Nantipa was incredible! The service, the food, the atmosphere, everything is truly spectacular. I traveled with my husband and 1 year old daughter and the property is perfect for small children. They have a great shallow section of the pool for small kids, clean and clear paths around the property, and the ocean just in front of the hotel has a small tide pools in the rocks that our daughter loved too. The location is truly beach front and we were able to start every day with a beachfront breakfast, while our daughter played in the sand! :) The staff was all incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Through a casual conversation they even helped us avoid a missed ferry ride due to a last minute change the in schedule and they went ahead and fixed it for without question. Thank you Nantipa for such an incredible vacation!

Nantipa is a resort like none other. Located on the beautiful and vast Santa Teresa beach, it brings boutique luxury to this quaint and rustic area. With only 15 rooms, it feels like you are in a secluded beach community rather than a hotel. The units are practically hidden in the lush greenery around the property. This is a beach destination with a capital B. The beach is vast – it stretches on for miles in either direction and it is at least 50 yards wide. All the activities center around beach and wellness. There is a yoga mat in the room for you. The waves roll slow and long – perfect for those that want to try surfing for the first time. For more experienced surfers, you can swim out further and ride huge waves. For the adventurous, you can wander into the town, which is a combination of fishing village and surf culture. Typical Costa Rican places and restaurants dot the main street next to gourmet restaurants and upscale shops. Nantipa and Santa Teresa are for clients that are a bit on the adventurous side, looking for something very special in Costa Rica that is off the beaten path. Getting here is easy – you take a 15 minute flight from Costa Rica and then a 40 minute drive to the resort. The service was incredible. Rate includes breakfast - you can do either a typical Costa Rican or American Breakfast. The resort has a romantic feel to it. Staff wore masks at all times.

After an underwhelming welcome during check in we were showed the grounds that were very small but this was expected being a boutique resort. The main and only pool was adequate but nothing to note. The beach bar we sat at waiting for cocktails was rarely manned as we waited for our room. Other guests came and went moaning at the lack of service at the bar. We eventually got given our room near to 4pm after i had to chase reception.. the beachfront suite with pool.

The room is the real highlight...modern beach chic all contemporary with great furnishings. Very visually pleasing.. Large glass doors overlooking the plunge pool and beach.Large indoor shower connecting to a door which led to the outdoor shower (however not a secure lock on the door for entrance to the room!) The coffee old school filter in the room was good.
The bad.. the pool has 0 privacy. We could see both guests to the left and right of us in the suites but really it was the Tico family staring at us from the beach for the entire 3 hours that made us super uncomfortable! After comparing our other stays with private pools this really is not laid out well for any privacy. The pool made my partner sting on the first day but I put it down to her being sensitive... the second day it made me sting knowing they were not getting their chlorine chemical balance correct. That and the fact that my swimming trunks turned white to green! The aircon gave up at around 9pm so had maintenance sent which was another hour of agony of him not being able to do anything with the room getting so hot and then he just left without saying anything. We had to contact reception again shortly later to make sure everything was okay!? The wifi kept dropping out from the room and wasn't much better elsewhere on the property.

We enjoyed our breakfast at the property but the dinner was so below par. After ordering a rib eye steak we were told this wasn't available but an alternative was. I agreed to the suggestion of the waitress as long as the weight was the same. The waitress didn't understand why a weight of a steak mattered. The new cut of steak was so dry and tough I was chewing for half an hour! It wasn't a cheap beachside restaurant to expect this kind of rough food.

There is construction noise as they build another villa on the beach as previous have stated.. this wasn't terrible you just have to turn your own music up loud enough..not ideal for some.

For an excess of $750 a night you expect more than just an eye appeasing room. Service and drinks average with lack of a personal touch throughout.. Give it a miss and head to Vista Del Alma across the road for luxury..

Loved our 6 night stay at Nantipa! The staff are wonderful and are so helpful at explaining the area (things to do, directions/roads to take, arranging COVID tests for your return flight home, etc) and providing anything you need. The pool was 5/5 stars for me - beautifully landscaped area, comfortable cushioned lounge chairs with shade, water was the perfect temperature to be refreshing but not freezing. We loved eating breakfast in the morning with ocean views. Hammocks on the beach are wonderful to relax in. The paths around the hotel are lit up enough that you don't need a flashlight after the sun sets, but not too bright that you get light pollution. I appreciated the fact that they have metal bucks available at the beach that you can fill up with beach debris (plastics) and get a free fruit juice. It may not make a huge difference but every little bit counts, and I appreciate the fact that Nantipa is trying to be environmentally-conscious.

I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed my stay (comfortable beds, great AC, perfect water pressure in the showers, etc) but I will stop here and say just book it!! You won't regret it.

Best experience in Costa Rica. Beautiful architecture surrounded by an amazing landscape in a unique beachfront location. Nature seems to take center stage. Impeccable service. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Nantipa has a quiet, private, cool, laid-back atmosphere. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food, especially fish, always fresh. The hotel and restaurant carefully follow the covid protocols (distancing tables, etc), which was very important to us. Can't wait to go back!

This was my first experience at this property which I had no big expectations. Things changed quickly as the welcoming professional staff greeted and showed me around. The room was fantastic and comfortable, wide variety of tv channels, the balcony made a difference having brought mountain bikes and surfboards plus a rack to dry all our outdoor cloth. The restaurant area and beach lounge is the best part of the hotel. Food was fresh and tasty plus sunset drinks were fantastic. The location of the hotel on the beach is quite privileged and feels more private than expected and at the same time easy to reach restaurants, supermarkets and shopping stores.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a fantastic Chef's Choice dinner at Nantipa restaurant. Our table was outside, under the stars and on the sandy beach. The restaurant is right on the beach, so we were able to explore the beautiful hotel on our way to dinner. The hotel grounds are meticulously maintained while guarding their most precious asset - the natural beauty of Costa Rica. Our dinner was first rate from beginning to end. We enjoyed a bruschetta starter along with Bouillabaisse, filled with perfectly cooked seafood and a delicious, mildly spicy broth. Next we each had a beef fillet, cooked with a sous vide and finished on the grill, served atop mashed potatoes and greens. For dessert we were served a chocolate shelled confection alongside vanilla ice cream. Each dish better than the last, and the service was fantastic as well. Our waiter was attentive without leaning toward overbearing and the chef came out between courses to explain each dish. COVID precautions were followed to the letter, and we felt quite safe being guests at the restaurant. Such a special experience and we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar escape.

This feels like a real retreat from other more crowded and touristic beach vacations. I could sit at this beachfront hotel all day looking at the beautiful pacific and it’s gorgeous sunsets. The room got lots of us channels on the tv in English, the give you delicious pineapple alcohol in your room to sip while staying w/them, delicious coffee CR traditional style in your room is fantastic, bug spray provided. It always felt so uncrowded, like I was the only one there, I love boutique hotels. Locals come over at night for the wonderful beachfront restaurant food+views w/soft music in the background, here.

This is a wonderful, wonderful place. Set among lush greenery, the rooms are beautifully clean well AC’d and stocked with traditional Costa Rican coffee maker and delicious coffee. The pool is luxurious also surrounded by lush plants. We saw howler monkeys climbing in the trees, humming birds and Armadillos in the undergrowth.

Manzu restaurant at the front of the hotel on the beach has the most friendly welcoming team and a great selection of dishes vegetarian and from land and sea.
You can sit under the covered restaurant roof or on the beach.

The area: a walk along the beach, a surf lesson, a walk to the cool beach restaurants along the beach front at Santa Teresa, relaxing in the hammocks. It has everything. Luxury but a boho feel. Something for everyone to do.

We loved every moment of our stay with the staff all so friendly and eager to help and assist. It would be unfair to single out names. They were all equally wonderful, welcoming, friendly. We are well travelled and the service here is the best service we have ever had both at the hotel itself and at the restaurant. We really can’t praise them highly enough.

Thank you to you all.
Angus, Ali, Kendra Felix and Jake.

The suites are in the back ; you really aren’t bothered by the traffic . Ask for a suite closest to the beach & you will be aye ok !

There are Nanku Suites that face each other, but not connecting. The Ninta Bungalows are close to the Nanku suites, but they are not side by side.

Hi! If you can fly from the international airports to Tambor is a good option. It is a 25-minute flight and then a 40-minute drive.

The heavy construction was going to be completed by mid-January. When we left at the end of December the noise was already less. If you are booking a Nanku Suite the noise is not an issue.
