The staff was super nice and the people there too! The kitchen is big and well organized. Everything is really clean. I stayed in a private room which had a huge balcony with garden view. They rent surfboards so you don't have find a surf shop. I would definitely recommend. 👍🏻

I really enjoyed my time at Wave Trotter. The vibe of the place, the location, the staff and especially the management. A wonderful couple who make the place that little bit special. They were certainly the greatest locals I met in my whole two week trip in CR! I had my bag stolen on the beach one of the nights...

The hosts are very friendly and the guests are awesome too. Our accommodations were disappointing though. The first night I was constantly woken up by the couple upstairs who finally stopped walking around their room after 3 am. Make sure you stay upstairs as the downstairs rooms don't have soundproof from the wooden floors. The second night there was a...

We stayed with Herman and Mai for one week and loved the place and the people. It was the first days of the season and we were lucky to have the place for ourselves for a few days. The hostel has high ceilings, a big garden and a lovely interior. Herman and Mai are really nice chilled people who are...

Stayed in the dorm next to the firepole. Great sleeping. Beautiful laid back surf vibe all around. Blond northern europeans everywhere. Low flow taps help to conserve water. 5 minute walk to the spectacular beach. Really entered vacation/surf daze. Loved it.

It's not the cleanest, nor the most feature rich hostel, but it has got it where it counts! Amazing people working there and a really good surfing vibe throughout! Also a mix of people staying there for a few months to just surf and people just going there for a few days, which creates a great variety and a lot...

My partner and I were stranded in Costa Rica over the holidays due to having his passport stolen at the boarder. Maddy and Herman were super accommodating and allowed us to stay in a private room for as long as we needed. The vibe was chilled and friendly. They have a big industrial kitchen where everyone cooked a big meal...

After a very questionable bus ride, me and friend wound up in Santa Teresa with a room booked at the Wave Trotter hostel. We had no expectations but were pleasantly surprised with the incredible vibes, amazing host, cool people and super cute room. It was also honestly the best location, hostel wise. Though not directly on the beach, it's less...

We didn't have so many options as we hadn't booked anything ahead and it's the high season in Costa Rica. So we decided to go for the Wave Trotter hostel that seems to have good reviews. And we are really glad of our pick ! The place has a huge backyard, and the common space is really big too with...
