Me and my friend stayed here for 4 days and absolutely loved it. There is a great vibe. Nice and clean room and a hammock outside the room. The view and sunsets are the best! Javi were very helpful, answered all our questions and gave us good recommendations for food. Amazing place! You should definitely go there :)
We were three friends travelling together in Santa Teresa and hotel Buenos Aires was a beautiful place to stay in! The rooms and the whole yard was very clean and every room had a hammock in the front patio. Also the view was amazing! The hotel is situated on a hill so it was nice to watch the sunset away from the dusty main road. It was a bit of climbing to get to the hotel but it was good exercise and the playa Carmen was just down the hill. Supermarket and surf board rentals were availabe just near the hotel and the beach access. And what a friendly and helpfull owner couple, muchas gracias! The breakfast at the nearby restaurant was okay; it could've been more diverse and the service was quite slow at times. But all in all we would definitely recommend hotel Buenos Aires!
My 23 year old son and I were doing a mom and son trip. He wanted the hippie hostel vibe and I wanted a pampered spa. Lol. We found Hotel Buenos Aires and we both fell in love with the charm, absolutely spectacular views and the wonderful vibe! We didn’t have to think twice about booking for the night. Although the rooms aren’t 5 star, Javi and Flo have taken great personal pride in making the rooms clean, warm and cozy. We opted for a room with a fan instead of AC and it was just fine! We would highly recommend this spot to all. The road up is an adventure but that made it more memorable as did the walk down the mountain stairs to the village. Javi and Flo have poured a labour of love into this spot and the people that visit. I’m not sure I could do five nights (my son certainly could have! But we loved it!). They are renovating the restaurant so it isn’t available now but don’t let that stop you. Stop. Relax. Enjoy. The views and calm spirit of this spot are worth the trip! Thank you Javi and Flo for your 20 years loving and building this spot for adventurers to come stay and fall in love with the dream you started. …
We stayed at Hotel Buenos Aires for 9 nights in March. Having been to Santa Teresa before I had an idea that the hill was going to as extreme as it was, the hill it is situated on is no joke. We rented a Toyota Rav4 4x4 so driving up and down is no problem, walking on the other hand will take your breath away every time. However, it is totally worth it, the view from up at the hotel and the pool/restaurant is absolutely amazing! The hotel is basic, clean and lovely. There are about 10 rooms, there is A/C and electric shower head which provided plenty of hot water. A small fridge in the room and 2 beds. I was traveling with my friend and we loved our view and our air conditioning as it can get quite hot for us trying to sleep coming from frigid Minnesota. The owners were delightful and helped us anytime we had a question. Breakfast is perfect with coffee, juice, fruit, toast and your choice of typical Tico breakfast of rice and beans and eggs etc. or a yogurt and granola bowl. It was a really great way to start every day with beautiful view and a delicious and ample breakfast. The restaurant was loosely affiliated with the hotel (the restaurant now called La Birreria), they have a good menu with fair prices, great option if you want to stay close to the hotel but it is only open in the evenings, 4:00 p.m. is when they open for happy hour and dinner. Breakfast is in the same restaurant every morning but is only for hotel guests and the restaurant is fully "open" at that time. There is a pool right by the restaurant great place to relax and read a book. There is a lovely yard up by the hotel to soak in the view and of course tables, chairs and hammocks. I recommend renting a car if you are staying here or an atv. Typically a 4x4 rental car will be cheaper per day than the day rate on an ATV but an atv might be more convenient for you. Also, having a car will allow you to venture north to beaches like Playa Hermosa and south to Mal Pais or Montezuma. A very relaxing and tranquil, clean and safe hotel, great bargain and lovely people. I highly recommend!…
Loved the stay at Hotel Buenos Aires. If you are planning to go, ensure you have a four wheel drive to get you up the very steep mountain, but the view is great. Very helpful and friendly staff and. three super sweet dogs on the property.
