We just arrived back from a week at the Andaz...I can't say enough about the service we received while there. They use the "whatsapp" and it made life so easy. We used the app to book tee times, dinner reservations, atv tours, and a fishing excursion. They all seemed to know our schedule and anticipated our needs before we even asked. The shuttle system around the peninsula is spot on, never had to wait more than 5-10 mins. Food throughout the resort and the peninsula was excellent and once again the service was over and beyond our expectations. Our room was roomy and we really enjoyed the deck space, added extra square footage to the room! Overall we will be back!
From the beautiful pools to the amazing beach house and the delicious food, everything was perfect: the room was huge and immaculately clean, the shower had a breathtaking view on the bay. The hotel offers a wide range of activity options to discover the peninsula’s fauna and surroundings or to simply relax and enjoy delicious cocktails on the beach! But we have to say, the best part of our stay was the staff! Everyone was so nice and helpful. We felt so pampered! And if you have the chance to meet with our new hermano Randall, please enjoy the moment, that guy is the best!! In 1 word, this hotel is paradise! We can’t wait to go back there!
My sister and I spent the last three days of our amazing vacation at the Andaz Papagayo. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the nicest staff. Everyone knew our names and which room we were staying in. The property is amazing, with beautiful views of the bay! The restaurants also have beautiful views and the food is fantastic! We took advantage of the complimentary kayaks and snorkel gear too. We met Adrian Villagra, who is a snorkel guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and cares deeply for the health of the bay and corals. He made sure that everyone in our group was safe and did a great job telling us what we saw. He also took a video of our snorkel trip and sent it to us! I highly recommend Andaz Papagayo to everyone traveling to Acosta Rica for adventure or relaxation. Thank you for some great memories!…
The staff is great, but management needs work If there is any sort of problem do not expect management to put much effort to resolve it. Made us repack and move next door after a few days so they could repair a problem we saw the first night. Water leaked through the shower-patio door. We lived with it by being mindful not to spray water in that direction. Then late one night they became insistent that we move. Lot of trouble for us! The room we moved to had an inferior view :( Other problems were simply ignored. 2. Not handicapped accessible. 3. Will take American money but the gift shop takes only brand new bills with absolutely no wear. 4. The restaurants take great care in asking about allergies. Dairy, nuts, gluten, and vegetarian choices well marked on menu. 5. My wife is allergic to seafood and tomatoes and found little to eat. 6. Food is great but expensive. Sometimes for lunch one wants simple foods, which are not available. $30 for two slices of bread, cheese, and ham and a few frozen French fries? 7. Prepare to tip. A LOT! Since the resort is not pedestrian friendly one must call for a cart to pick up and drive you to restaurants, pool, beach, etc. As one who lives in a cashless society I was surprised by how much cash I needed for tips. They do have an ATM but it's connection to American banks are limited. 8. We found Arenal area to be great with lots to do that was very Costa Rican, such as local bird watching. The activities here, swimming, boating, kayaking... not that special and can be done pretty much anywhere we've been. …
If you want to be woken up by construction at 7am, receive terrible service , and over pay for your room, go ahead and visit. Otherwise skip this very over priced experience with terrible service. Definitely do not visit if you have any food allergies. They are disorganized and sent food to my room I was allergic to.
The Andaz is spectacular from the public spaces to the restaurants to the beach access to the pools. The staff is friendly, accommodating and appear to enjoy their jobs. We were there on a business reward trip and it was great for our group of 40 people. But it was equally wonderful for guest visiting on their own. The view from the rooms are fabulous from sunrise to sunset. The spa services were wonderful. Taking a boat to the beach club was fun. And it's easy access to other properties via their shuttle service. It was a little disappointing that everything shuts down at 10pm. Our group wanted to hang out and enjoy the craft cocktails a little more. Highly recommend.
Gorgeous setting supported by an amazing staff that seem to really enjoy their jobs. For a large resort, they make you feel very special. You don't often find that , but you will at Andaz Costa Rica ! Thank you for a wonderful vacation.
Wonderful resort in a stunning country! I could go on and on about how beautiful Costa Rica is, but this is about the Andaz, and they really impressed us! Our rooms were perfect. Well-appointed, a great lay-out (no tripping over suitcases) and always cleaned to perfection. The outdoor seating area was a bonus! We also loved the water-bottle filling stations outside our rooms. There are a few different pools to choose from in addition to the beach area, where it wasn't uncommon for us to be joined by Capuchin and Howler monkeys! (We weren't fans of the beach that you could take a quick boat ride over to - we felt they oversold that a bit...) All the restaurants were AMAZING, and we have a vegan and 2 vegetarians. They were also wonderfully accommodating about our off-menu requests. But one of the best things about the Andaz was the staff!! EVERYONE was warm and welcoming. We didn't get every name, but Warner & Fabiola greeted us every morning with big smiles and warm greetings. Victor & Liz at Chao Pescao were also great. When I had trouble finding dinner reservations, a WhatsApp note to the concierge Carey solved our issue. We didn't take advantage of the spa, but the fitness area is one of the best we've seen at a resort like this. Overall, we highly recommend a stay at the Andaz!!…
If you want to feel like a king/queen, this is the place to go. Incredible vibes, food, drinks, accommodation... you name it. Not a large resort, but has everything you need for a short stay. Not much of a night life, but great for family and special occasion trips.
Amenities were were first rate. Staff went above and beyond to help make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They seem to enjoy working the resort and and have great pride in their work and level of service.
