From the scenery to the people, we had an amazing time here on our honeymoon. After a long day of travel we arrived to the most welcoming group. We loved the restaurant and especially the dock/ceviche bar for drinks, snacks, manatee watching, swimming, and just lounging around. Captain Larry was always around with a smile and to help us or show us around the area and was just an all around great guy. Our beach cottage was top notch with the best views, You seriously just opened the door and you were on the beach just steps from the water. Highly recommend this place and we hope to come back someday
We avoided travel during COVID and sorely missed this spectacular resort, so we were not sure it had remained to our past level of expectation. We were very pleased to find out it was as if the past few years had never happened. The staff were as attentive as before and the food was excellent. We took advantage of some of our favorite excursions including fishing. Our tour guides cooked what we caught on a nearby beach and even dove for lobster to add to our catch. Belize had great local beer and rum that must be tried. Our thanks to all of the staff, especially Bruno, Richard and our fishing guides Alex and Anthony.
My husband and I truly enjoyed the quiet stay at this resort. People who work here are amazing! Wait staff; namely Gabriel and Edgar stand out for their over the top attentive service and freindly personalities. They are led in the dining room by Edison and his assistant, Narrs. Outstanding! The food was delicious and you are right on the beach. Best snorkeling was by boat, which you can book through Jewels, the activity guide, who was THE BEST!! Fabulous two level Tiki Bar; you can jump off into water from top. Ceviche Bar, too....YUMMY! Don't expect Bahamas like blue water at the beach here, but very serene and lovely beaches.Only negative; two hour ride to Belize City airport.
The staff at Jaguar Reed are phenomenal! Jules, Cliff, Edgar and Captain Larry (just to name a few) made our stay here so memorable. They were so personable and knowledgeable and always up for a chat. The hotel is gorgeous and the plunge pool in our suite was such a treat. We will be back!
My wife and I stayed 5 nights... so beautiful and peaceful, staff was excellent!! We stayed in one of the rooms with the plunge pool highly recommend...the south snorkeling trip is a must!! Hopkins the neighboring village has some excellent places to eat very relaxed and laid back.. will definitely be back
The avocado room was very lovely, The staff was friendly and helpful, not to mention it has a private pool that stays warm awesome!! Would highly recommend. Will definitely visit again. Dinner was great at the paddle house restaurant, the conch steak was awesome!!
We just retuned from a 21 day 34 wedding anniversary tour of Belize. Almond Beach at Jaguar Reef was one of our 5 night stops. Absolutely loved the resort! The room we had was a spa king ocean front. Incredible view. Upon our arrival there was champagne on ice with a beautiful fruit platter and fresh flowers. We ate all of our meals at the restaurant on site. Even though they were remodeling the dining room (September is their slow or quiet season) and the atmosphere wasn’t its usual, they provided alternative seating at their conference room. We had breakfast there, but in the evenings we ate dinner at the bar. Food was phenomenal! Chef JJ prepared incredible specials. We fell in love with his Garafuna Seree, JJ was kind to give me his recipe! The staff at Almond Beach at Jaguar Reef is so nice. Everyday we were greeted personally by Gabriel our waiter. Bartenders Richard and Richard, Bruno, Erwin and Darwin made sure we never went thirsty. Enjoyed our conversations about Belize and Hopkins. Everyone at Almond Beach at Jaguar Reef were wonderful! The property has the Dockside Ceviche Bar. It’s a very cool place to grab a drink and some of the best ceviche! We did a snorkeling and island hopping tour with Tony. We visited the local Cayes and had one of the best snorkeling experience in our lives! We would definitely return to Almond Beach at Jaguar Reef.…
I’m so happy we booked here. Our experience was so much more than we expected, and I had high expectations. We stayed for 6 days, and every day was incredible. The resort is small in number of rooms, which is exactly what I wanted, but the accommodations were not compromised by this. The curated furniture and decor led to an all over amazing aesthetic. Every detail, down to the ropes on the dock, made an impact. Overall, there are 3 bars onsite- top floor of the dock, at the pool, and at the pattlehouse (resort restaurant), plenty of activities, and someone is always there for you ready to help. For anyone looking at the menu thinking you might get sick of it, don’t fret because there were new specials daily for lunch and dinner, or other options in town like Driftwood. We were also recommended Luba Laruga, Roast (next to the gift shop), and Ella’s. Also, WiFi was accessible all over except for the dock, and worked great if you needed it. The activities are a must if you visit. Julz set us up with snorkeling and fishing, but she was so much more than the activity director. She helped answer any questions we had and we loved chatting with her. We got the best experience possible from our snorkel guide Tony. He would point out the fish we saw and you could tell he was looking intently for everything he could show us! Mike was the captain for snorkeling and fishing, and knows exactly where the hungry fish are. There are so many things to do though; next time we’re back we’ll be doing jungle stuff too! At the resort, we got good use out of the kayaks, pattleboards, and a Hobie sailboat. Larry was always there to help us and made everything easier. Every time we went out, we saw manatees! It was so crazy to see them come up and sniff the air. I could’ve reached out to pet one it was so close. The beach… the water was so beautiful and calm every morning. I was mesmerized. The laying nets on the top level of the dock made the whole experience feel surreal. While in the net, you’re probably about 30 feet in the air and you can hear the water below while looking out into the ocean for miles. The dock bar was a nice touch, and shoutout to the bartenders who were always fun with awesome drinks! Overall, we were blown away by the experience. Customer service was incredible; the staff was so friendly I can’t thank them all enough. Will helped us in some way, every day, with every random thing you could think of; we couldn’t be more appreciative! Also, for those with back issues, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the mattress and pillows. My partner never gets good rest out of town because of poor mattresses, but this one was incredible for once! A couple tips for everyone visiting - the closest atm is in the village so make sure you bring enough cash (already broken) or you’ll need to stop at the atm on the way in. -Although it felt amazing, if you opt for a room with the plunge pool, the pool water is hotter than expected but not quite jacuzzi hot.…
Ted was superb in providing us transportation to our tour destinations. He was very knowledgeable of the towns and provided excellent information about the culture. Larry the beach captain was very friendly every morning and kept the beach very clean. He greated everyone he came in contact with. If you are looking for a vacation of a life time entrenched with culture then you must make this trip. Nate and Alice
Stayed here for four days and it wasn't long enough! We have one of the suites to the beach and it was beautiful. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. We had Bruno as our bartender the whole time we were there and he is AMAZING! He made delicious drinks and was helpful when it came to the culture and things to do around Hopkins. Larry also was also a pleasure to be around and gave us a lot of great information about the sea life
