We went to Hamanasi for our honeymoon and are so grateful that we did. Throughout our stay, so so many members of the staff went above and beyond. We were blown away by the beauty of the property (love that you experience both the forest and the beach), by our treehouse room (highly recommend staying in one of the treehouses), by the restaurant and bar, and by every single adventure we went on. Every one of our guides was so knowledgable and kind. We recommend both the jungle and the ocean adventures. We tried diving for the first time here and our instructor (Terrell) was so patient and helpful. And the reef is extraordinary. If you're not a diver, snorkeling is amazing here too. All the dive/snorkel guides are fantastic people. For "inland" adventures, we did: Mayan history tour Cave and Jungle adventure Birding Cockscomb Night Hike Waterfall Jungle Hike We recommend all of these. Our guides were Hartfield, Victor, and Bern and they were all wonderful. Hopkins is an incredible town with a lot of history. You can borrow bikes and head into town on your own, which we did a couple of times. Our driver from the airport to Hamanasi, Golden, gave us an introduction to the Garifuna people and we were so grateful to learn more about them and their culture during their stay. The Garifuna food they serve in the restaurant is amazing and we felt so lucky to witness the Garifuna drummers and dancers at Hamanasi. The trip was a great mix of being active and lounging by the ocean and on our porch. Come here if you want to adventure, to relax, and to eat incredible food.

Hotel's Favorite
Top shelf service with attention to detail all around. From day 1, the staff are professional, friendly and helpful. They make an effort to know and remember your name as well as your preferences. We chose the treehouse and welcomed the privacy and jungle views. From our porch we became acquainted with the local various iguanas and a birds. During our week long stay we partook in several activities that we’re part of the adventure package. We hiked, birded, canoed, swam, snorkeled, caved, bicycled and zip lined. Our guides were informative and interesting. If you choose the adventure package bring shoes you don’t mind getting muddy. Also bring quick drying clothes unless you use the laundry service. Other must haves are bug dope, sunscreen and tiger balm or similar for bug bites. They give you a water bottle so no need to bring one. If you go caving or night hike they provide headlamps. The package includes 3 meals a day and depending on your activity you may have a box lunch or breakfast. They’re take care of your order the day before. Happy hour is 4-6pm with half price drinks. We bought a bottle of wine in Hopkins which we enjoyed from our deck. Hopkins is a 5 minute bike ride away from Hamanasi. The daily specials change so you don’t get tired of the menu. You can request half portions if you aren’t too hungry. They’re pretty flexible with mixing and matching. For example I sometimes had two appetizers instead of an appetizer and an entree. The ice cream and sorbets were a favorite dessert. Juice, coffee and tea are complimentary. Lattes and alcohol are extra. All incidentals are added to your tab which is tracked and tallied for your departure. This is the place to come if you want to be pampered, well fed, and relax. You can be active or not, it’s all up to you.

The resort is beautiful, the staff is unbelievable, the rooms are immaculate, and the scuba diving was first class. We went with their inclusive package, dined on the beach, and had the time of our lives. Most relaxing vacation ever!

My wife, eleven-year-old son, and I spent a week at Hamanasi this May and had a fantastic time. During our stay, we did the waterfall hike, chocolate factory tour and lots and lots of snorkeling. It was the best snorkeling we've ever experienced - nurse sharks, turtles, puffer fish, the dastardly lion fish, spiney lobsters, rays of all kinds, eels, and even a scorpion fish. The snorkeling guides were all wonderful with a particular shout out to the only Beaver in Belize. On the waterfall hike, Bern was a terrific guide. The swimming pool at the top of the hike was a thoroughly rewarding oasis. While it was a strenuous hike, it was nothing to be afraid of. Our eleven year old did it easily and without complaint. We did not do several of the amazing Mayan excursions because we had already done those when we stayed inland at Chaa Creek. The food was a pure delight. I loved how they allowed you to size up or down your portions based on your hunger level (and avoid food waste in the process). The staff in the restaurant was so kind and patient, taking great care to learn our names and alter the dishes as needed. I really can't say how much we appreciated their friendly manner. The pool was very refreshing and the beach games were a welcome late afternoon distraction. We stayed in a deluxe treehouse room and it was absolutely fantastic! The air conditioning worked perfect and the mattress was sublime (I've NEVER said that about a hotel mattress before). The only issue of note was out of Hamanasi's hands and how they handled it goes to show how committed they are to unflinching customer services. There was a significant bloom of sargassum algae in the ocean during our visit and it concentrated at the shoreline. That made swimming in the ocean directly in front of the resort unadvisable. Hamanasi staff offered to take us to neighboring islands on their snorkeling boats to give us a chance for mellow beach time without the sargassum. It was a very generous offer. In the end, we decided to stay local, riding bicycles and playing in the pool. On our last morning, we were rewarded with a clean ocean and spent our final hours jumping off Hamanasi's pier and that of the neighboring Jaguar Lodge. All in all a fabulous trip made even more so by the wonderful Hamanasi staff!!

Where to begin? First the ride we had from the airport to the Hamanasi resort was wonderful. The driver described the beautiful vegetation along the way from Belize City. We learned about Pepper trees and the citrus grown there. When we arrived we were greeted with a refreshing drink and beautiful smiles by the fantastic reception team. All expectations were blown away with such care of detail for our treehouse room. The special surprise was a bottle of chilled champagne for our anniversary. Wow! This is only the beginning of our wonderful stay at Hamanasi. We really enjoyed our diving and hiking adventures. All the staff was so friendly and helpful and the food was super good and healthy. It was the very best vacation we’ve ever had and what we really needed after having to delay it for two years (they were very accommodating). Thank you Hamanasi for a terrific and wonderful time!

This was by far my favorite beach vacation we have been on. We selected the Romance package for our Anniversary which greeted us with a bottle of champagne and then we had a couple massage AND dinner on the beach. I loved the intimacy of the resort. The grounds were meticulously maintained and cared for. We enjoyed the waterfall hike and snorkeling for our adventures and were awesome! We tried our hands at diving for the 1st time with Discovery Diving and I highly recommend this. We did it 2 days in a row and looking to get certified at home to return back and do more diving! Martin was amazing! The rooms were so clean and well kept, nothing out of order or in disrepair. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have slept in at a resort! The food was so good! I found it amazing that they even remembered some of my likes and dislikes. They do so well to remember food allergies as well. I couldn't believe their customer service, it is seriously unmatched! By the second day everyone was calling us by our first names. They were always so kind and genuine, with always saying hello and your welcome. I always felt so well cared for! I could go on for awhile with all the positives and I'm sure I'm missing something but suffice to say it was the BEST resort I have EVER stayed at and for that reason we will be back!

Stayed at Hamanasi for 8 days and every day was just a fun filled adventure. The staff here met and exceed our expectations. Everyone called us by our first name just very personable and caring. Our group of 9, including two teen grandkids, loved the pool, inland adventures as well as the snorkling on the Belize reef. Our tour of the Mayan ruins was very informative and the guides, Victor and Arne's Mayan history made the tour that much better. Our group did a total of five tours and each one was an exceptional experience in itself. The facilities were first class in all respects. The rooms were perfectly made and cleaned daily as we're all the grounds, like a jungle paradise. Our group, all 9 of us, have no complaints, this has been our best vacation and our 12 year old grandson agrees.

Our stay at Hamanasi was everything we had hoped for. We stayed in a beachfront room with our two teens and all four of us had an amazing time. The restaurant staff all knew us by name and the food was amazing! All of our adventures were great and the adventure staff were all terrific - favorites included snorkeling, cave tubing, ziplining, and the black hole drop. We enjoyed relaxing by the beach in the afternoons. The resort was beautiful and well tended. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed in a tree house in the jungle -- wonderful room, comfy bed, nice bathroom, super private deck with chairs and a hammock. Even the pavers were designed so you wouldn't lose your way after a few drinks in the dark! We're older and my husband just had back surgery so stairs were not his favorite -- they set a table on the veranda overlooking the pool and the Caribbean every day for just us so he didn't have to maneuver the stairs! We took the cocoa tour (superb!), snorkeling (my first time and I was scared by the dive master stayed with me and got me through an amazing experience), and I took the horseback ride through the jungle... I was the only one on the tour and it was outstanding right down to the fresh mango Ken picked for me off their tree when I got back. The front desk people were SO accommodating -- right down to putting a small fridge in the tree house completely stocked with sodas for my husband! And she also cut some aloe for my sunburn. The drivers of the super nice and new vans were also wonderful and had cookies for us at the conclusion of our tours. And the food! OMG!!!!

My wife and I stayed at Hamanasi last week and everything was great! The diving operation was great and all the staff were very helpful. All meals are plated and were always outstanding! Our room was more than comfortable. Everyone we interacted with on the staff was more than helpful. The jungle atmosphere is beautiful and we enjoyed walking the grounds to see the animals and variety of birds! They have an excellent set of land adventures to choose from if you do not want to dive everyday. We dove everyday and will plan to stay longer on our next visit to experience some of the land adventures they offer. We have been to a lot of dive resorts around the world and Hamanasi moves into first place for us! Highly recommended!
