Hamanasi exceeded all of my expectations! I wanted to go on a fun trip with my sister, and was attracted by the diverse experiences and gorgeous location that Hamanasi offered. I was a little nervous as we were two women traveling on our own, but we had the most amazing trip, and I plan to return to Hamanasi as soon as possible!
Upon arrival at the airport, our friendly driver was waiting for us, and provided us with cold towels, snacks, and drinks for the 2 hour drive to the resort. The two hour drive flew by as we took in the beautiful landscape and our driver told us about the places we were passing.
I cannot say enough about how beautiful the resort itself is. The grounds are lush and gorgeous, well-maintained, and with paths winding through the greenery. The beaches are lovely, and have a plethora of seating and hammocks to use. There are also kayaks and paddleboards available for use, which are very fun to launch right off of the beach.
The excursions were amazing. We snorkeled in clear waters along the reefs, hiked in the jungle, and toured Mayan ruins. Every trip was well-planned, well-executed, and had great attention to detail. Also, we really appreciated that the groups for excursions were kept pretty small- mostly around 5 people per guide. Water and snacks were always provided, and bathroom breaks are built into every trip. The guides are knowledgeable and friendly, and they all knew what they were doing!
We stayed in a treehouse room (would definitely recommend), and our room was kept in great condition by our housekeeper. The food was delicious, and the restaurant provided a great variety of options for all tastes. The service was excellent, and the staff remembered our names and were always friendly and accommodating.
Overall, I highly recommend Hamanasi to anyone contemplating a vacation who desires a place that takes their experience to the next level!

What a place! The place is fantastic but it is really the people who make the experience unforgettable. The stuff is absolutely wonderful and bends over backwards to make all of your wishes come true.
The food was excellent and if you have special needs they do anything to give you what you need. On my birthday, I was surprised with a wonderful dessert at night.
First, we wanted a beach cottage but since we booked last minute, the only room available was a standard treehouse. Little we knew what a great choice we made. If one seeks quiet and total privacy, that's the way to go. If the view for the ocean is priority, the beach houses are okay but they are not freestanding. You won't have your own cottage but rather I think about 8 rooms side by side.
If you have a choice and want to live like a royal, go for the tree house deluxe as you get an amazing porch with a private whirlpool, a beautiful living room and a massive bathroom with two showers across of each other. It was like a little piece of heaven...we ended up in one of those on our last night.
During the day time it was fun to take advantage of the bicycles available. At night time, it was safer to take a shuttle but mostly because there are no street lights and the streets are not all paved. Since we share the world with wildlife, we didn't want to be surprised by any unforeseeable encounter.
We never had an issue with bugs or mosquitoes. However, we never kept our doors to the tree house open to give them an opportunity to enter. So as long as instructions are followed, no problem. Also, using at night the baby oil (I used coconut oil) for the ankles kept away those No-Seeums. Funny enough when I used the coconut oil on my whole body instead of the insect spray, no mosquito came near me either.
If cocktails are appreciated, this is definitely a fantastic place to consume some of those. The happy hour snacks were an absolute delight.
With reference to the ocean: It is the ocean, so no one can keep the ocean from being wild with windy weather ;). When we arrived, the water was calm and so beautiful and clear. On a windy day, I was a bit scared to go into the water as shuffling of the feet was even more needed to make sure not to frighten potential stingrays resting (never seen one though). There were a few clear jellyfish when I used the paddle board. Snorkeling is not done by the hotel.
Again, the place was just heavenly but what made for me a big difference is the friendliness and helpfulness of the stuff.

I brought my fiancée here to celebrate her 40th birthday. I have been to many “all inclusive” resorts but Hamanasi is by FAR the very best. The restaurant is fine dining, 3 course delicious meals, the staff is the friendliness I have ever had, the grounds are absolutely incredible, the adventures are safe and exciting and well thought out, the beach is amazing, the pool is perfect, the rooms are breathtaking (we had a Treehouse). It’s a safe, happy, intimate, eco-friendly atmosphere. I hate to even call it a resort because you really do feel like it’s your home after a few days. We were absolutely pampered but still felt like we were experiencing Belize and it’s wonderful culture. I am also gluten free for medical reasons and they always remembered, bringing me my own specially made breads and muffins. The menu changes daily (plenty of gluten free options, always) and we never felt the need to dine anywhere else. They offer LOTS of fish, shellfish, beef, pork, chicken and veggie dishes. A large portion of the food is grown in their gardens right there on site! The staff went out of their way on the day of my lady’s Birthday to make it memorable and special. We were treated so well by everyone there from the groundskeepers to the cleaning staff and all the way up to the managers. The room was perfect, AC was great, we slept so peaceful on a super comfortable bed with the jungle being the only sounds we heard and we both showered in the magnificent tile shower. Thank you for the best vacation we have ever had!!!

My husband and I visited Hamanasi Resort of New Years this year and it did not disappoint (all of the other 5 star reviews are true!). They take every precaution for traveling during COVID - all the staff wear masks, hand sanitizing stations are everywhere and they are continually cleaning and sanitizing public spaces, vans, etc. We felt extremely safe our entire trip. The staff are incredible and truly want you to have a nice time. If there's ever anything you need, they are there to help and really care about each and every one of their guests.
All the adventure options are amazing as well - you are never bored and it's always a debate if you want to do a fun activity or relax on the beautiful beach. We dove 3 days and the diving operation was world class. We felt extremely safe and had an amazing experience diving the Blue Hole, the Ultimate and a local reef dive. The dive team is so helpful and ensures you have an awesome experience.
The resort is beautiful. We stayed in a beach front room and the room was spacious and so clean. The grounds are extremely well taken care of and the beach is beautiful with tons of loungers and hammocks. They added wifi to the rooms due to COVID and the wifi and connectivity was great. We had to do a little work while we were there and had no issues. There's also great cell phone service.
The food at the restaurant was delicious. Normally we don't love all inclusive packages but eating all your meals there was easy and delicious! It doesn't feel all inclusive and instead feels like you are dining at a great restaurant each meal. There was lots of variety and we enjoyed every meal. The drinks are also great and we enjoyed the happy hour specials.
We would highly recommend Hamanasi and hope to be back soon!

Every detail is accounted for. Our stay was personalized and we felt very welcomed and pampered. From the moment we arrived at the airport, Antonio greeted us and treated us to cool towels. He educated us on the area on the drive to the resort. The front desk greeted us and warmly welcomed us, making sure we were fed after the process of getting there! The rooms are beautiful and clean. We stayed on the beach and the tree house, both were fantastic. The food was delicious and fresh. Portion sizes are perfect (but you can get more/less if you want). They are willing to accommodate your eating preferences in any way. The property/grounds are beautiful and clean. You are in the jungle and the beach all at the same time. The excursions are very fun and educational. Every guide is very knowledgeable, and on the Maya ruins tour, Axel and Angel were a wealth of information. During our ride there and back they taught us about Belize and its culture. After we arrived at our location they overloaded my brain on Mayan culture which was fascinating.
Hamanasi also works with locals to provide lunch and shopping while on the excursions, thus giving back to their community. We stopped at a lovely cafe called Adries and had the most delicious lunch.
The place is very calm, quiet and relaxing. What a hidden gem.

We recently stayed at Hamanasi Resort for 6 days. We stayed in the treehouse which I highly recommend. The room was spacious, secluded and beautiful. We had our own deck with 2 chairs and a hammock. The air conditioning in the room was a major plus since we were there in July. There is no TV or phones in any of the guest rooms.
Food was excellent and excursions were fun. We snorkeled (3 times), fished, kayaked, paddle boarded and canoed. But what really made the resort awesome was the staff members. Each remembered your name and preferences.
The whole experience started with a staff member meeting us at the airport with a cool wet towel; a welcoming package that included masks, hand sanitizers, clorox wipes, etc.; a water bottle and cold water. Then the driver offered to take us to a grocery store to pick up items we may want for our rooms. After a very short orientation we were led to our rooms where our luggage had already been delivered to.
Our room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was large. The room had a small safe in it but no refrigerator so the staff always insured we had a small ice chest filled each day. They even brought us an oscillating fan because we have a difficult time sleeping without noise.
The resort take sanitizing serious. As soon as you leave a table in the restaurant, a staff member wipes the table chairs and even the legs of the chairs.
Be aware the only air conditioning is in your room. No air conditioning in the restaurant and bar.

Once again, Hamanasi proves itself to be the best choice for a Belizean vacation. My husband and I have been coming to Hamanasi every year for 5 years now. This trip we traveled with 4 other couples, and although we all have different likes, we all found Hamanasi to exceed all of our expectations. The entire staff is knowledgeable about the area and the excursions you take. Everyone from the driver that meets you in Dangriga, the front office staff, Dive Guides, and excursion guides make you feel welcomed and special. (A special thank you to Big John, Neal, Alex, Kirk, Kim & Elvira!) The food served in their restaurant is delicious and their specials add a nice local Belizean flair to the menu. All our rooms, from the Beachfront bungalows to the Deluxe Treehouse were clean, comfortable, and the beds so comfortable giving you a great nights sleep so you can start the next day rested and ready. We really can't say enough about how special the staff at Hamanasi is... We have stayed in resorts all over the world but the staff is what really make your stay extra special...they remember your name, what you like to drink, all of your little idiosyncrasies of food ordering :) We all can't wait to return next year!

This is a great hotel for single, couples or family traveller. The hotel provides a lot of activities or you can relax in the property enjoying the beach, bird watching and the food. The services were outstanding and we wish we would stay more days there. When we tried to book the Ian Anderson 7 miles cave tubing, Robert from the resort was so nice, he arranged the trip for us without charging us the fee and saved us time to drive there ourselves as it is on our way to Hidden Valley.
One thing we would like to share: if you are renting a car and driving yourselves to the resort, please do not follow google map direction, do not take Coastal Highway as it is not paved and there were really bad when we were there, take the Hummingbird Highway instead.

I dont even know where to start. Everything at Hamanasi was absolutely perfect. There were 7 of us: Mom, Dad and 5 young ones in their twentys! I have traveled all over the world for the past 30 years and have never experienced better service and attention to detail combined with a perfectly laid out, cozy, luxurious, eco property. The beach rooms are all about a 30 second walk to the beach, to the pool, and to the restaurant!! The rooms are beautiful and VERY comfortable and even have a ceramic bowl of water on the front porch to clean the sand off your feet. Every morning the water is changed and a new flower is added to the bowl. Everyone that works there must be hired for their friendliness and can do attitude. I never heard the word "cant"; every request we had was immediately taken care of, even adding Bloody Mary's to the Happy Hour when we commented on how much we enjoyed them! The adventure center was amazing too: the scuba and snorkeling were very professional and the reef was so beautiful and vibrant; the hikes were as described and so much fun; and the chocolate tour was a blast! The guides on the excursions were all so knowledgeable, friendly, and eco-aware and made the trips so memorable. Now on to the food! WOW!! So much better to have freshly-prepared, delicious meals compared to huge buffets. As is the Hamanasi Way, any food request was happily taken care of. I could go on forever but simply put, this was a perfect vacation!!!!!!

Hamanasi was a resort that really had it all!
My girlfriend and I spent a week in one of the suites where we laid by the beach, went on 5 excursions, and enjoyed the fine dining from a staff that was extremely kind, helpful, and insightful!
The resort was absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed walking around and looking at all of the plants and little creatures and the beach and sand around the resort was well kept.
The excursions we did were the Mayflower, canoeing, Cockscomb wildlife sanctuary, snorkeling, and the magical Mayan history tour. Our guides were simply wonderful as they were both fun and insightful.
Food is always an important aspect to consider, especially when you are going on vacation! Even though we stayed for a whole week we never had the same dinner twice as the menu was always rotating. The presentation and taste was so amazing! The breakfast/lunch were really great as well. Those meals didn't have as much of a selection, though what they offered was really good and would not expect more.
If we go to Belize again, we would highly consider coming back to Hamanasi for what would be another amazing stay!

There is wifi in the rooms now. I think it was added during Covid.
Mayan Tour and ATM Cave are a must-do. Snorkeling is also amazing.
I believe they also give you a "cheat sheet" to help you with this. We did tip housekeeping a little, the diningroom staff person who made sure our group of 10 was well taken care of (we had a few dietary issues), and our drivers and specialty guides in the range of $10-25 depending on the time we were with them.
