My family stayed at Bocawina at the beginning of the COVID 19 outbreak-- March 14-16.  That was such a lovely break from being in this stressful world.  I want to thank the whole staff for making our visit so wonderful.  I wish we could have stayed and stayed. I've traveled a fair amount and I must say that they are the most wonderful and personal hospitality professionals I've ever met.  They took the extra effort to make our visit special. I particularly enjoyed my morning parking lot bird watching walk.  So many parrots!   The staff seems to genuinely enjoy their connections with the guests.  I will always remember those few days as a magical time that stays with me and gives me a smile during this pandemic.  My family sure hopes to be able to go back to Bocawina Resort!  Everything was wonderful: the room, food, front desk service, Adventure Center trips and guides, flowers on the grounds, birds, waterfalls and hiking. A magical place!

We spent one night here (wishing we spent 2) on our way to San Ignacio after spending 5 days in the southern cayes. The lodge arranged a transport from Dangriga, which was quick and easy. We were instantly impressed with the grounds when we arrived. We were given a welcome drink and brought to our upgraded suite, which was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had a few special honeymoon touches. We spent and afternoon hiking to Antelope Falls (swimming at the pool at the top is highly recommended) and Upper/Lower Bocawina Falls. We're not birders but it seemed like a great place if you're into that. We got to hear howler monkeys too. We got up early before our shuttle and hiked the Birding Trail Loop. We didn't see many birds there, but it was a nice, short jungle hike with Mayan ruins at the start/finish. Our dinner at their onsite restaurant, Wild Fig, was amazing, and they were very thoughtful and accommodating with food sensitivities. The food and service was top notch. The grounds were very well kept and beautiful and our experience overall was very peaceful. We would highly recommend this for anyone who likes hiking, birding, and a quiet jungle experience. We did not partake in the guided activities or tours. You can walk to all of the hikes from the lodge, which was nice since we did not have a car. The rangers in the park were also very helpful with questions about hikes and pointing out wildlife.

My fiance and I came here (stayed 4 nights before going to the Jaguar Reef Beach Resort) as we wanted to explore the jungles of Belize...we were not disappointed! NATURE NATURE NATURE everywhere! You can hear birds at all times of the day and omg drinking coffee that is brought to you at 6am each morning while listening to the birds, as well as just looking at the jungles out of your window is just magical! The staff were so friendly (thanks Ken, Reina, Ragnar, Victor, Israel, Tony!) from the moment we stepped foot in Bocawina. The lodge has so many activities to do; we recommend doing the whole loop hike if you get the chance. The ziplining was very cool and OMG, go to every waterfall you can go to (minus tears of the jaguar falls as they were not as impressive and the work to get down there was a lot more than we bargained for). The falls that you must do are: bid drop falls, peck falls, and antelope falls...all of which you can do on your own and do not need a guide for! The food is great and we ate all of our meals there...happy hour is also pretty great! Lastly, I want to emphasize how great the staff are: we had signed up for rappelling and last minute my fiance decided she didn't want to do it. We went back to the lodge right after by ourselves, and Ken told us right away that we would not be charged for the rappelling...I think most other companies would try to rip yo off, but not Bocawina! PS do not leave Bocawina without doing the zipline, it really was an amazing expeirence!

We stayed in the Gladiola room. Absolutely beautiful. The grounds are beautiful too with lovely hikes in the rain forest. Be sure to hike to one of the waterfalls. We did the zip line unfortunately it rained the entire time we did the zip line. I would still recommend it.

My wife and I spent 4 days on a rustic caye and were ready to be spoiled by the Bocawina accommodations. The "Howler Monkey" cabana was beautiful and clean but because the entire room and porch were screened in, we felt connected to nature and enjoyed the noises of the animals at night. The staff pampered us making driving arrangements to and from the resort. The trails from the lodge are adventurous and beautiful. Saw a very large boa constrictor off the side of the trail!
