A beautiful colonial style building with covered verandas, rooftop deck, pool with waterfall, jetted tub and water slide. A large great room with full kitchen, big screen TV and recreation area equipped with a library of games and movies to choose from. Great for groups to rent the whole resort, room for 14-20 adults and kids. Great diving, snorkeling, fishing, hiking, zip line, cave tubing, Maya ruin exploring and chocolate making expeditions just a short distance away.

I can't say enough about this quaint little resort nestled in between two high end resorts. I stayed 31 glorious days at Caribbean Shores in a studio apt which was refreshingly modern and renovated. Full amazing kitchen with full size stove, plenty of counter space. Spacious shower and comfy futons. (Guests graciously leave behind things for the next guests like seasonings and mosquito spray and such) on site laundry. Surrounded by amazing restaurants. Just lovely.

The staff was very sweet and accommodating. They make you feel like visiting family. And you can't beat the price. I plan to revisit every year!

Just on the ground floor of the resort is an amazing authentic Italian restaurant run by Max who's dishes could easily rival the best Italian restaurants you've eaten at stateside.

Jaquar Reef resort is next door with a swim up pool and a breathtaking beach, right behind is Belizean Dreams resort with yummy food and beds on the beach. Next door is a lively dive bar called "Play" where the owner Matt and Kat are so sweet and welcoming. Matt is a mixologist behind the bar. Lol whew, try the " Catarinias" Matt's take on the capirinha. Lol classic rock sing along and drunk dart tournaments haha.

Meet all the lovely expats who will quickly adopt you and swoop u into their non stop round Robin partying at their different bar/restaurants. I highly recommend visiting Jalapeños for some of the best BBQ you've ever had, say hi to chef Lee for me. Mangos at the end of phase 4 is a lively beach bar with an amazing selection of burgers and fun music bingo. Ant behind the bar will keep you laughing.

Only 5 mins cab ride to a more touristy, busy part of hopkins for more bar hopping and restaurants. I recommend

Jalapeños
Mangos
Ella's by the beach
Limetree
Oddessy

The U.S. dollar is two to one in Belize
And the locals are super friendly. Have an amazing experience in Belize and consider Caribbean Shores for budget friendly long stays.

Caribbean Shores apartments and B&B facility is a perfect location for the savvy traveler. I had delightful experience in a huge studio apartment with magnificent vaulted ceilings, a full size kitchen with bar seating. I enjoyed the peaceful environment and beach so much I extended my stay an additional week.
The facility is in a sweet spot nestled behind much more expensive facilities, but still only two minutes from a very well maintained exquisite beach.

There is a magnificent italian restaurant in the courtyard an onsite laundromat and numerous other restaurants within walking distance.

Christina and her staff are professional, cheerful and efficient. I am looking forward to my next visit to Hopkins, I will definitely be spending time there.

We travelled to hopkins with out making prior reservations. Was concerned if we were goong to be able to get a good place just right there on the spot. So I decide to google places to stay in hopkins. There I saw the add for caribean shores and decided to go there and request information. Beingvthat I had 3 children 7, 5 and 4 age range. The place is awesome. The rooms have living area a spaceful bed room and the best part it has kit hen with stove and a nice amd big refrigirator. The pool is alot of fun for the kids. Has a slide and jaccuzi. The rooms are very nice and very clean. I had a nice and relaxing day away along with my husband and kids. I highly recommend it. The only thing tho that the pool is extremely deep. So need to be very careful if you are a non swimmer.

We were looking for a place that had 6 rooms available fairly last minute. As we have been here before as a couple, we were familiar with the place and had a pretty good experience other times and always loved the breakfasts. It was mostly for the breakfast that we booked this place actually. When our large group arrived, I mentioned breakfast and they said we had to request it ahead of time and it is a $15 US fee! It has always been included in the past, and it's called a bed and breakfast. Would have been nice to be told this when I booked so we could all prepare better.
The first evening we ran out of drinking water and requested more so we could have coffee in the morning. By the way, no coffee makers here except in the main public kitchen. The next morning we had to ask again for water. Ended up boiling some tap water. No water came until later that morning. They also didn't want to give any extra towels for the kids, because the dryers are broken and staff has to hang all the laundry (which is hanging in between the buildings).
The rooms themselves are nice, no complaints there! We also loved the pool and the slide.
BUT One other thing I need to mention is the sewage problem! Our kids were outside playing in the sand around the buildings, and there was some wet sand and they were enjoying playing with it. Not till later did we find out it was a sewage leak!! Thats it, I'm sorry but we won't be back again. Unless a manager or owner decides to care and put some much needed attention into this run down place!

At check in we were informed the Cable in our room wasn't working. We asked for a different room and within 30 minutes we were escorted to a nice apartment room. However, we quickly realized that neither of the AC units were working. So, the needed time to get another room ready and in about 30 more minutes we were relocated to yet another apartment unit that was quickly put together for us. The sound on this TV was not working properly, we could barely hear it over the AC unit. There was wood lice saw dust by the woodwork in the bedroom and bathroom. There was NO dresser to put clothes in, only a closet containing a broken lamp.
The dishes in this unit were not the best, and NO coffee pot. Our last day/night the TV sound quit and we got no response to our calls for it to be fixed.

The resort needs a new face lift. Needs to be power washed outside and repainted. The outside blinds in the common area are falling down along with some spouting.
It was apparent that they did not keep rooms cleaned and ready for use. On a positive note, the Italian restaurant on the property was fantastic. Real Italian!! Great food.

It is hard to find a mid range hotel in Hopkins. The Caribbean Shores B&B was the best option I could find for a $100USD to $150USD pricepoint. Located in the Sitte Point resort area with restaurants within walking distance. You need to rent a golf cart if you want to go into Hopkins town. Decent pool but it is very deep. You have beach access via another resort. Excellent breakfast if you are staying in one of the B&B rooms. Poor sewage system means placing used toilet paper in the trash can. Despite being guaranteed daily housekeeping you have to request the service. We stayed in the 2 King rooms. In the Iguana room the air conditioner could not be shut off but it worked fine in the Jaguar room. Perhaps the apartment suites are better? Onsite laundry is in disrepair. The onsite store was not open. Make sure to let reception know when you are arriving as they have limited hours. We arrived early to our reservation. The B&B allowed us to wait at their pool. They also did try to get our rooms ready as soon as possible.

Caribbean Shores in Hopkins, Belize

I would not recommend this place. It looked and felt old and rundown. We stayed in the “Jaguar” room located near the pool. It had a musty smell and problems with the air condition. The bed was uncomfortable with pilled-up sheets. We went during the slow season so there was not much going on and hard to find staff when we were experiencing AC issues. I can only comment on the room we stayed in but would have liked to have seen other choices.

There were several rolling blackouts during our stay and their backup generator was not working. We were given no information as to when these blackouts were to happen or for how long. I feel like we should have been given some kind of notice instead of just hearing about it after the fact.

Other than that we did enjoy breakfast that served to us every morning. The staff was very accommodating to our scheduled events even coming in early when needed.

Stayed for 1 night, the room was clean and it was all we needed for a night. Private bath, good shower. Pool was refreshing and breakfast that was included the next morning good. Great location to the beach and other restaurants next door. I also had my laundry done while I was there, 2 hours and it was done. would stay here again if needed.

Really nice place to stay, though it's a bit of a walk - or ride in a rental car - to the main part of Hopkins. But it's decent value, spacious rooms, a pool onsite and access to the adjacent beach (with a beach bar). There are a couple of restaurants right there that are pretty good.

What a wonderful place to stay! The staff were all a joy to be around. They work great as a team. I can't think of anything more I wanted or needed in a vacation spot. The location and amenities were perfect. I look forward to many more visits to Caribbean Shores.

You say the stay was outstanding but only gave it a 2 star rating, why was that?
Answer from Melissa C

There is the local bus service that you can take, or like others have suggested, you can rent a car. The hotel can arrange a transfer but do not offer it themselves. They subcontract it to a local tour company. They can make the arrangements for you at your request. If you fly from the international airport to Dangriga Town (30 mins away from Hopkins), it is easier to navigate bus transportation as a cab from the airstrip to the bus terminal is a short cheap ride. From there the attendants at the terminal can direct you to the right bus to get you to Hopkins. Hope this helps.

Hi Teresa You have options... 1. You can fly from the International Airport to the airstrip in Dangriga and get a transfer/ taxi from there into Hopkins and to the property 2. You can rent a vehicle from the International Airport and drive down. It is an easy drive as we literally have ONE major highway 3. You can get a private transfer from the International Airport to Hopkins

Hi. there are only 2 rooms that can accommodate extra beds and it would all depend on the dates you need them. You can reach them at +501 660 0817 (I tried putting email address but it won't allow me to include it in this reply)

There was a guy at the airport that drove us. It's not a real taxi like you know in the states, but it's a guy with a car. It cost $ 50. We were supposed to have a rental dropped off, but our flight was late so the car service did not bring it. The bigger resorts had their own shuttles pick them up. When are you going and have you checked out any other places to stay in hopkins?
