We had a terrific time at Jaguar Reef! A tropical, secluded paradise but close enough to vibe the village of Hopkins. The drive from the airport was stunning and easier than expected. The rooms are exactly as pictured - we had a private plunge pool, which was perfect for an afternoon chill-down to watch the sunset. Big, comfy bed. The beach front + Big Dock are beyond expectations. The staff was professional and very welcoming - always going the extra mile. Bruno led us on a snorkel and fishing excursion with island hopping that will go down in the memory books as one of our all-time favorite vacation memories. Shout out to Bruno for showing us Belize at its finest! The chef at Paddle Fish even cooked our catch for dinner that night. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All superb. This is a perfect place for your post-pandemic getaway.

The Lodge at Jaguar Reef – I don’t normally take the time to write reviews, but I just had to…We were at Almond Beach at Jaguar Reef 6 years ago…we loved it so much we decided to come back a 2nd time and stay at the same resort….we originally booked our rooms at the Colonial at Jaguar Reef but due to the low occupancy, the owners upgraded us to the Villa Rooms at The Lodge at Jaguar Reef. It was a 1200 sqft Villa with our own plunge pool right off the beach. We went with our best friends and they also got upgraded to the Villa next door. Our stay there was amazing. We were greeted by the most amazing staff. They were all very friendly and took the time to answer a lot of questions and were constantly making sure we had everything that we needed during our stay. So the staff/chef Rahim (and Chef Jovani) took the time to get to know us and find out what kinds of food we’d like to eat during our stay and that they’ll see if they have the ingredients, then they’ll make it! Well…we wanted to experience Belizian food, local food. We were very open to the experience so we gave the chef free reign to surprise us with his best dishes. Well…we were amazed and loved everything they had prepared for us. When it came to booking some Tours during our stay, Odalis, was able to help us book Reef Fishing combined with Snorkeling. That turned out to be one of the best adventures we’ve ever experienced. We got to catch barracuda, yellow tail, porgy fish, calamari and conch. When we got back, the boat captain Elwin and Zwedek they cleaned and filet some of our catch and brought it to Chef Rahim and he cooked up a very special meal for us the following night. Now….I don’t recall being charged GST Tax (General Service Tax) last time when we were here, but anyway we found that on the resort, they have to charge GST tax on the food, so we went off site to explore other local restaurants walking distance from the resort and still experience great food without the tax. The resort was incredible, it was very clean, we rarely saw the other guests, so it felt like we had the resort to ourselves. The beach was raked every morning…although watch out for sand flees as we got bit by them. So be prepared to bring a lot of Bug Spray with 25% Deet….anything else won’t work as well. I would highly recommend staying here and we would come back again! We stayed 4 nights here at the beach and then we went to their other resort and stayed 4 nights at the Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge. This was my 50th Birthday trip. We would absolutely come back again! Wifi/Internet this time was much better, this time you have wifi at the rooms…before it was only at the Lobby/Paddlehouse. We highly recommend it…a great place to get-away and decompress.

Oh man... I really don’t know where to start. From the minute we got there to the morning we left- the staff was absolutely incredible. So kind, considerate, and accommodating. We left feeling like we made longtime friends that we’ll have to go back and visit someday. We stayed in an ocean front villa that was beautifully decorated. The room was immaculate & they had added beautiful fresh flowers everywhere upon our arrival. The food was delicious!!!! We had lobster & fresh squeezed juices at least once a day. Our favorite menu items were the fried jacks with butter & honey, the lime in the coconut drinks, conch ceviche, & the breakfast sandwiches that came on fresh Belizean bread. There were COVID regulations in place which was no surprise. It was very reassuring to see how well they adhered to regulations. Like I said before, the staff was so accommodating to the point that they called people to the resort to take our COVID tests in preparation for our flights back home. Ordales was our ‘paradise-fairy-godmother’. She took care of everything for us -dinner reservations, room service, scheduling activities & trips. She was such a pleasure to talk to. Every part of our trip was paradise. We can’t wait to return to the lodge!!!

After the storm breaking the pool at our rental house, Belize collections moved us to their Lodge. We were upgraded to 4 incredible suites that all had plunge pools on the porches or balconies. Incredible. The lower level shower opened to a private patio where i had many lizard friends. The upper level plunge pools were on private balconies with incredible ocean views. The restaurant had great food. We would order Fry jacks with breakfast. This coffee is strong! Chef was awesome - we upgraded our service and hired his staff to make a few private meals for us, one on the dock lower level and one up at the dock bar for breakfast. What a treat! The ceviche was worlds best category. All our food whims were met. Resort amenities were nice, we borrowed bicycles, paddleboards, kayaks ansd spent all day jumping off the dock. Staff was attentive and nice. rinks were great, we ordered a lot from the bar and added stuff from the market to our mini fridge. We loved our stay here!

My wife and I stayed at Jaguar Reef recently and had a spectacular time! We stayed in the Villa-B suite and it was stunning. The view right on the beach was very calming and relaxing. Odalis (the fantastic receptionist!) and the entire staff (Chef's Rahim - Executive Chef, and Chef Jovanni (sic), Edgar (Wait staff Extraordinaire) were just unbelievable. We had so much fun on a Reef Fishing trip, Snorkeling, and just hanging out at the Dock at sunset... The Captain on the Fishing and Snorkeling trip (Irvin) was superb! The fish we caught (which was a lot) was fileted by Capt Irvin and then beautifully prepared by Chef Rahim the following night!!! Wow!!
