This is our 5th visit to this great lodge in the charming town of Montagu. This time we were the first guests to stay in the new room created out of the old conference room. It was huge with direct access to the garden but very private. Feda's very stylish decor and furnishing, period meets contemporary and a great red bath! Since our last visit there had been some further alterations to the property, a new bar being created next to the pool area instead of at the front of the building and that area was now a high end gift shop and cafe. One of the highlights of Mimosa Lodge is the food - set menu fine dining, although if there are items on the menu not to your taste they will happily change it. The current chef is Zimbabwean and he's been trained by Bernard and many of the staff have been there almost since the start. As for things to do in and around the town. There are the fabulous hsitorical buildings - there is a walking plan available, back through Ashton a picnic on the Breed River and in the other direction a great ride up the mountain on a 50 year old tractor, usually on a Saturday and Wednesday on the Protea Fruit Farm, great fun.

We had a perfect stay at the Mimosa Lodge. A very warm welcome from Bernie Wiese and the owner Family Hess. The traditional Dinner with the different Mimosa wines is outstanding. The price for it very fair! The visit should be a must!

Stayed one night at this charming boutique hotel, in a very large, comfortable room with vaulted ceilings, king size bed, large bathroom with separate tub and shower, and A/C. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of shops/restaurants. The garden is lush and has a nice pool available 24/7. Pool towels are provided. A nice English breakfast was included. 4-course dinner and wine pairing can be added on for an extra price, although we elected to walk the small town and eat at a restaurant. If you do the same, be sure to make reservations ahead of your visit, as it seems that some restaurants get filled ahead of time.

We have booked for 1 night to Mimosa Lodge during our Garden Route trip. We were in room 11. Room was disappointing, did not look like photos on website, this room is not in any pictures. The shower was full of molds (pictures below), we had to keep our flip flops on. The rest of the room was clean. The staff welcome us rapidly and did not help us much guiding us through available activities in Montagu. When we told the lady at checkout about molds, she didn’t apologize or anything and just said briefly she would advise maintenance. We found the staff was less friendly, careful and helpful than in every other stays during our trip in Namibia and South Africa. This, with the molds, deceived us. On another note, the waiters from the restaurant where we had dinner were amazing, careful, on point, attentive. Food was good.

Dear Marie-Rose Thank you for choosing to stay at Mimosa Lodge and we are sorry that we did not meat your expectations. We value your feedback and definitely take your comments serious. On inspection it seems that the 'mould' is in the tile and not on the tile. Making black spots in the tile. we have tried everything to clean it but as it is in the tile it is not possible. The bathroom was re-tiled 2 years ago and we will now re-tile it again and see if there are any other issues in the walls causing this. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your dinner with us and we assure you of our best service at all times Regards Fida

Beautifully agenced bed and breakfast in Montagu. Spacious rooms with good value for money. And we had a fantastic evening with a delicious 3 course dinner (including different wines matching the food). And a great surprise with a great "Swiss after-dinner party" ! Thanks Bernhard and your team !
