Everything at Le Toiny is perfect. The suite, the pool, the food (although a touch expensive), the staff, the view, the airport pickup, ... all perfect! Stayed for three nights but felt relaxed as if I had stayed a week.
Had such a great stay at Le TOINY. Beautiful private getaway with lots of things to do. Snorkeling, hiking and a gorgeous sunset catamaran excursion ( with St. Barth Excursions) were top of the list. Renaud made our catamaran trip so special with many details and his experience and fun character made this experience unforgettable☀️
We spent 2 weeks here for New Year ( in 2 x signature suites with pool - my husband and I in one and our 3 daughters in another next door ) and it was the perfect balance of tranquility and privacy in our gorgeous suite but with a wealth of distractions when we wanted them. Breakfast on the verandah overlooking our private pool (often visited by the herds of local mountain goats !) followed by a slightly reluctant hour in the gym set us up for afternoons lazing and lunching on the beach. Evenings commenced with cocktails at the hotel before a short trip to a fabulous restaurant - the perfect day. I am very fussy when it comes to decor and ambience and Le Toiny did not disappoint. We did have a few issues ordering a particular cocktail at the bar (every night the same misunderstandings !) and were let down with taxi bookings a few times , but this was the Caribbean at New Year ..... We have visited many other luxury resorts in the Caribbean at New Year (Four Seasons Anguilla, Jumby Bay, Mandarin Oriental Canoun ....) and St Barts & Le Toiny are at the top of our list to return to…
All the staff were pretty efficient and we had some interesting talk. The Australian chef and his girlfriend make us some excellent cooking at the Beach Club restaurant and in-room dining. The cheesecake worth the detour and the lobster was excellently cooked in kitchen of the main restaurant. We had an excellent diner with my family at Jarad restaurant with the same great Australian chef and his associate. The beautiful beach and nature with the nice built swimming pool still full of surprises and fun: -Surf was up so we were so lucky to meet some friends at the peak ! -scuba dive to enjoy more than before. -The tropical garden revealing his dry and wild life side. At our Signature suite we appreciated the red flame tree singing and dancing in the wind 'cause of their long dry dark brown pods full of seeds. We adored the company of the black and white cat during our stay and a big iguana. This third "unlockdown" travel around the Caribbean reveal the best of it like the others!…
My husband and I had our 20th anniversary trip planned for several months when Covid-19 hit. Aside from the day to day concerns related to the pandemic we were also uncertain about our impending trip. From our first inquiry, it was impressive how Phillipe handled the situation and communicated with patience, attention and compassion. Although we are no longer able to go to Hotel Le Toiny this June, working with Phillipe has only made us certain that we will be rebooking a stay there as soon as possible.
This place is the top of the top - service, food, lodgings, all of it. Le Toiny is wonderful laid back luxury and as nice as any hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in. It's expensive, but "get what you pay for" expensive. Not "rip off" expensive. We will return.
There's plenty to say about this hotel which we have just returned from. Firstly, service is impeccable. Literally nothing was too much trouble and the response times were first class. The suites are large, beautifully appointed and extremely private. Probably one of the best suites we have ever stayed in (if not the best). Tips: Take breakfast on your private terrace at a time to suit you; hire a car to get around the island as taxis are very expensive - everyone drives convertible minis; go to a range of restaurants (including the one at the hotel) for dinner - I would say get advice from reception and make some reservations. This hotel is on the east coast of the island and naturally quieter so it's good to get into Gustavia and St Jean to see other places and soak up the atmosphere. Take anti-bug spray as we did get a few bites (as did many others we met all around the island). I would also say to try the beach club. I had seen that there were some negative reviews but that wasn't our experience. Again the service was friendly, helpful and good; and it's a wonderful spot with a great infinity pool as well to enjoy. If you are in two minds about this island, just go - it's really very different to anywhere else in the Caribbean that we have been to. Oh, and enjoy the landing and take off at the airport - it's a must-do experience!…
I spent a week with my girlfriend in hotel le Toiny at the end of January and it was pure bliss! The suites are outstanding, spacious and the private pools are perfectly heated! The service at both the beach and at dinner restaurant was fantastic. I love this unique hotel and we will be back for sure! Thank you Mary Lou for your great hospitality and we will see you again soon!
We have just returned from lunch at the beach restaurant at Le Toiny. The location is lovely but that’s where the positives end. We ordered chicken with salad and fries, the chicken wasn’t cooked. It was pink and wet so we sent it back. Upon its return it was obvious it had been thrown back into a fryer and so it was full of hot oil and was far too greasy. The final straw was when we were served our coffee at the end of the meal with milk that curdled and was obviously off. The funny part on paying the bill was when we were asked if we would like to leave a tip. We declined! We won’t be returning.
The Hotel Le Toiny has a very desirable location on the exquisite island of St Barths. HOWEVER, there is a total disconnect between the natural beauty of this island hotel and the indifference of the staff. We just returned from a highly anticipated lunch on the beach. My sister-in-law is a seasoned traveler, visits this island every year. Having frequented this hotel since it opened, she informed us that it was a wonderful place to have lunch on the beach, although very expensive ( 28 euros for a zucchini soup). Sadly the beach ambiance has drastically changed due to an overzealous DJ named Maxim who obviously only likes and selects music with a very heavy disco beat. We politely requested that perhaps he could play anything of his choice, other than the disco beat and the response was MORE disco and fierce staring from his little booth. A quick glance around at the few other occupied tables showed an average age group of 50-90 years of age, so it was disturbing how the DJ was so fixated with his music selection. A second request brought further onslaught of more incessant disco beat. A word with the other staff fell on deaf ears. Finally we felt we had no other option than to call the manager of the hotel who had a word with the beach manager who FINALLY asked us if we would like them to turn the music down . By that time we were ready to pay the bill and frankly could not wait to leave. For a modest lunch( we ordered lightly with only 2 drinks and some salads) we had a bill of 257 Euros for 4 people. We won't be going back to Le Toiny.…
