….. it is impossible to leave here without putting on weight! Food is excellent and bountiful. Well if you get served three course meal for lunch and dinner it would be rude to say no! Chefs went over and above to help provide food meeting my wife’s dietary requirements, to the point where they sent her photo of the food they had purchased especially from the market to keep the offerings varied. We stayed in villa 27 for 5 nights which we were initially disappointed with as it was in the middle of the resort and didn’t have that endless desert view from the private pool you see in many of the photos. However it was fine with the villa placed on top of a hill so still had a sense of privacy. Also with the greenery surrounding the villa we enjoyed the birds visiting and multiple gazelles would appear every day so no complaints. We didn’t use the full entitlement of activities as we weren’t blown away by them and valued more the chance of either a lay in or more time relaxing in our villa. In agreement with other reviews the staff make this resort, all of them superb …. well apart from a slight annoyance with regards the private pool temperature being lowered during our stay which spoilt the usage of it for 1 day. The closest hotel to perfection we have stayed.

Such a unique experience to visit Al Maha. The resort is located inside the Dubai Desert Conservation area so shortly after you turn off from the highway, you’ll end up in a remote area with desert sand on both sides. On arrival, we were greeted by Al Maha staff, who quickly took our belongings and led us to their welcome room where we got served an incredibly refreshing soy and mango drink! Our field guide, Daniel, also met us there at the time where he walked us through the various activities we could choose from during our stay. Since we were only staying one night, we were allowed to choose 2 activities which was the wild life drive and the sunset camel trek. Special shout-out to Daniel who made our field activities so enjoyable! Thank you so much for adding in the extra little excursion on our wild life drive to make it so much more memorable! When we got to our room, there were snacks for us on the table and our resort guide gave us a tour of the room before leaving us to ourselves. The view of the resort was amazing and we were even welcomed by several gazelles in our back porch! Overall this was a amazing experience to have stayed at Al Maha. Never would I thought I’d be able to camel ride into the sunset and learn about Arabian Oryx’s, the national animal of the UAE. One fair warning is to make sure you keep your doors closed if you go outside. While is supposed to be a luxury resort, you will get mosquitos in your room if you leave the doors opened, which would make for a very annoying night. We also had a couple ants in our unit and I even saw a lizard on the wall. However, we understand we are in the wild so these things are to be expected. Lastly, the food provided for breakfast, lunch, and dinner tasted amazing. We felt so full throughout our entire stay. We would recommend staying here 2 nights for the experience as there isn’t much else to do once you’ve done most of the activities.

Lovely tented rooms with beautiful private pools and inquisitive Gazelles that come up to your terrace. Great food and even better staff. We loved all the activities, which were taken by friendly knowledgeable staff, especially the 4x4 dune drive, the camel sundowners and getting up close and personal with the Falcons! A big thank you to every single exceptional member of staff who made our stay very special, we were very sad to leave and hope to be back next year.

Al Maha is unbelievable. I’ve stayed at luxury properties around the world and this was incredible. Gorgeous suites, staff and service were top notch, and the food / attractions were amazing. Our guide Michael made the experience unforgettable. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible - tailoring the tours to our interests and spending extra time answering all of our questions. Incredible experience and we’ll be back! Perfect staycation for those in dubai

Wow this resort is amazing. We stayed in villa 37 for 3 nights on our way to the Maldives. The villa was incredibly private, no one could see you from the path in front of the villa and while technically someone could from the path far down below, it never happened and it’s incredibly lightly trafficked. The sunrises here were incredible. Many antelope came right up to the villa. The room itself was incredibly spacious and the deck had great sun and shade when needed. The pool is also heated which is a very nice touch as the desert does get a bit cold in the morning and evening so this insured the pool as usable the entire time. They also advise you can alert them if it’s too warm or cold and they can adjust it for you. I highly recommend the sunset drive to the dune. We took a camel the first time out and while it was a fun experience, I would take cars going forward. The cars get there much earlier than the camels and ensures you have plenty of time to take great photos etc. we did not go to the shared pool and it didn’t look like it got a lot of use, the camels pick you up there so there are flies and odd smells in that area. I’d stay away from the villas right there also for lack of privacy. We also did the dune drive which was very fun and you get the opportunity to take some great photos on a massive dune. The food was good however I would say don’t stay here for more than 3 nights. There is only one resturaunt and the breakfast Buffett is weak for a property of this caliber. We ended up ordering room service for many meals which was awesome as you have a great table to eat at on the deck. It is all inclusive so that helps make up for the lack of food options. I found the poached eggs at breakfast executed well and in general thought it was a very special place and not only would I recommend anyone going to dubai to stop there but I would advise people to go to Dubai specifically for this resort.

Perfection from airport pickup to check in. Food is phenomenal. Activities are professionally done. The suites are immaculate with a private pool looking at the desert. This hotel sets THE standard for all other luxury hotels. And I don’t think others can ever meet it.

Stayed here for 2 nights at beaudoin suite at room 18 & 19. One of the room has a sunrise view and the other room has a sunset view. We checked in around 12pm. From we stepped in to the property, the service was absolutely amazing from the bell boy, activities assign guy, and the receptionist. We felt very welcomed. Once arrive, we was served welcomed drink and explained about the check-in process, activities, and the dining process. Thanks to Ariel, the receptionist that had welcomed us and made it felt like home. We were pampered from check-in until the check-out. Even though the room is not ready, we were waiting at the spa room where we can enjoy the jacuzzi, gym, or swimming pool. The gym, jacuzzi, and spa need early booking as only one family can use once at a time. The view of the swimming pool was amazing. Also, we can eat complimentary lunch while waiting for the room. The lunch was amazing include appetizer, main course, and dessert. Once the room was ready, we were escorted by Ariel to our room. The room was old but still maintained very well. The room was very clean and the view was amazing. The water, tea, and coffee are free and refillable. They gave us 6 small bottle water and 2 big bottle water. Also, free arabian wine that taste very good. Also, welcome fruit and snack ready in the room. The water of the in-room swimming pool was heated and warm. The view was amazing and can see bunch of gazelles every where. For each day of the stay, we are allowed two free activities and we chosed camel ride, safari ride, sand dunes (pay extra), and falconary. All the activities was fun especially with out great guide. Thanks to Pububu that make our stay more enjoyable. The complimentary dinner can be ordered in-room for free or at the restaurant. We had it in the restaurant and the food was awesome with appetizer, main course, and dessert. We order different one for four of us and share them so we can taste each one of the food. On one of the dinner, the hotel staffs prepared a surprise birthday cake for my mom and I appreciated that. The complimentary breakfast was also awesome and on both days we have it in the room while getting ready for the activities and enjoy swimming in the in-room pool. The food was great and delicious. For food, overall they are okay and can be improved as the quality of the food are a little bit let down such as overcook shrimps or no longer fresh, the dessert are just okay nothing really impressive conaidering the luxury of the hotel. Only the service was excellent but all the food still good and edible. Of one of the night, we had dining dune where we were drop in the middle of the desert and have dinner there. The experience was awesome and the food was great and a lot. Really, recommend to visit this amazing place and no regret to come to this resort. The experience was different as we are in the middle of the desert and the service was phenomenal.

I can't believe this resort is just an hour away from the bustling city of Dubai. We stayed here 3 nights in October and the experience's totally different from the city. It's staying in a safari in a super comfortable setting. During our 3 nights, we did 2 times the camel treks, a sundowner, falconry, morning nature walk, wild life drive, and additional dune drive in the morning. These already keep you busy in the morning and evening and all activities are very well organized, entertaining, and providing good knowledge of the conservatory area where the resort situates. Mitchell's our experience guide and she's very good in every way, we learned a lot about the fauna and flora in the area, she also drove us during the dune drive and it's very fun. We enjoyed spending time with her a lot. During the day when the sun is super strong, we're chilling in our tent balcony & pool just watching gazelles roaming around the tent and sometime spotting the Oryx in the desert just in front of our tent. It's super relaxing. We were there in early October and the temperature's starting to cool down. It's still quite hot during the day but not uncomfortable. The foods are good, particularly lunch which has more choices than breakfast and dinner menus. Room is super nice, well maintenance, clean, and the matress is very very comfortable. We had no problem sleeping during our 3 nights stay. It's super relaxing and good quality mattress. Thank you Yahia and Jagadish who keep our room clean all the time. I'd recommend staying at least 3 nights to enjoy the day in the desert and participate in the activities. Though the location is very isolated from everything, you won't feel bored at all. It's super good resort with great hosts in every area. Perfect place for vacation for us.

Away from it all ! Al Maha desert resort is absolutely wonderful. It is hard to believe that you are only 1 hours' drive from Dubai. We stayed in a Bedouin suite, which was very spacious and comfortable. As these suites are very spread out over the property, the locations differ, and some have a better location/view than others. The suites were spotless and all have their own private plunge pool, a private decking with a table and chairs and 2 sun loungers. We had quite a few deer come to our decks. The view of the photo of the suite on line, does not reflect what the majority of suites look out on. There is only 1 suite of the over 40 suites that have that view. saying that, the suites are lovely. We did the Falconry, the Camel ride and the nature drive and the nature walk. All were excellent, but the nature drive and the nature walk were just outstanding. May be because we were so lucky as to get guide Michelle from South Africa as our guide. She was just AMAZING. Her passion and her knowledge were second to none. If you are lucky enough to get Michelle, you are in for a treat. The food in Al Maha is really good, and the views from the public areas so so good. Do get up early to enjoy these views.

It's a very nice hotel, but not the best that for my point of view is the Anantara Qasr Al Sarab (newer, more luxury and cheaper). Apart from not being the best, it's a very nice hotel with good rooms. They look a little bit old but nice. I found amazing the quantity of gazelle that go around the resort, also next to the room
