The island and surroundings are amazing, but I have never had such terrible service. We had various encounters with the staff, most of whom didn’t seem to know what was going on, nor cared much. But my biggest complaint is with the final bill—they never gave us the final itemized bill, claiming the computer system was down. I had to chase them for 2 weeks to get it, only to find there were errors and incorrect extra charges. Now they are not replying to explain/refund these charges. I have emailed over 5 times with zero response. Totally unacceptable from what claims to be a luxury, high end hotel. I will NEVER go back here and would never recommend to anyone based on their total lack of respect and regard for their clients.
Travelled as a couple, stayed a night either side in Bonifacio which was just beautiful. Transfer to island via hotel launch was fun, met by hotel staff at the quayside for the very short buggy ride to the hotel. Absolute tranquility and superbly comfortable room with the widest bed imaginable. Excellent breakfast from plentiful buffet of top quality ingredients. Dining options limited to hotel terrace restaurant or the hotel’s beach bar. Great fish/shellfish selection with some imaginative pasta based dishes simply served with great fresh tomato and seafood. Very good wine list of Corsican, French and Italian wines. Great value by London restaurant comparison. Buggy hire for a day out picnicking at the peaceful bays around the island is a must. For a great visit La Ferme restaurant, great service and excellent food/cocktails/wine but at eyewatering prices. We decided it was worth it though as a special treat as part of a really enjoyable holiday. …
An amazing island no car, a natural paradise, the hotel rooms are large and fully equipped with TV ,aire condition, and a fantastic view on the mediteranee sea. Excellent restaurant with a nice a la carte menu. Price are OK considering we have fresh fish
We were there in the preseason. Means: One has the island almost to itself, the maquis flowers, it is pleasantly 25 ° warm, the water is radiant turquoise, the hotel staff is very relaxed. (And yet very prudent). Our room (number 30) was very spacious, with a covered balcony, tip-top maintained. Our week there was a dream: starting from the great location, to the fantastic dinner in the restaurant (star level) to the bar. Giacomo is a magician, he not only has the best spirits, he is also the good spirit of the bar . Only the indoor pool seemed too small. We will be back, probably next year in September
we were there 3 full days 4 nights late september just - 1 week- before the island close down very nice hotel but Nothing to do except going to the nearby beach 100 meter belonging to the hotel , or renting an electric car ( late sept cost 130€ from 9 am to 4 pm) to drive 700m or 1 km to go to one of the 2 totally desert beach none are equip with nothing the hotel beach ( sand ) has its on pizza restaurant but few things to eat ( good stuff ) NO umbrella ( forbidden) on beach also 8 cabana on rear of beach = to get one better be there - late september - by 10.30 main restaurant ( only night ) good food but only ONE menus noon and night and the same every day all of september ......... !!!! once your rent a club car to do complete tour of island at 20 km/hr takes 30 minutes then what wifii most commun area , but work slow in room , your mobile is hook on the italian network 200 miles away , not on french one 10 miles away !!! the employees speak 99% mostly in italian a few english , a few in french shopping NONE except the hotel store at ridiculous price the harbour store = almost inexistant NONe really open there is one grocery story with 10 bottles of corsica water , 10 bottles of local wine , a few bag of pasta and 3 packs of biscottes fresh Bread on order that's it , but closed from saturday noon until monday evening !!!!! the harbour restaurant mostly drinks & icecream and sandwiches and 2 type of american burger but as nobody eat there we let you guesssss ......... harbour itself very well equiped all electric plugs work , all water tape work all fitting devices are in good shape the quay and very long protection jetty in perfect shape , the road on all jetty are in perfect condition this harbour is mostly full from mid july until august 18/20 that it .. after 95% empty there is a boat shuttle from mainland ( corsica Is. ) bonifacio 30 ' and from nearby jetty 8 miles away , plus the hotel shuttle going to Corsica nearby jetty ( 15' ) on demand and to Sardinia (40' /45' ) we took the private helicopter service both ways ( 4 persons , up to 5 ) from Figari airport , flight time 8 ' good view over coastal , they wait for you at the plane arrival , the helico is 200 meter away from the planes ( did an outstanding job both way ) as we have to stop and work one full day in ajaccio we did return cavallo is. to ajaccio 25' instead of boat shuttle 10/15' plus taxi (20/25' ) to airport plus car rental and 3 hr drive off season the hotel come to pick you up at helico pad ( different from villa owner pad ) for a 5' ride to hotel it is on the old airstrip which was close down ( 18 years ago ) because of unlawful use in the nineties ....... otherwise you come out of airport , grab a taxi 25' ride € to nearest boat shuttle jetty € , wait , then depend on sea 10' /12' ride plus 3' ride to hotel room seaview N° 27 the last at the end of hotel ( 200meter ) nice balcony nice bathroon with a huge rock inside the other one 52 no official sea view ( but in fact with a seaview and almost private mini tiny beach 10 meter away) the huge suite ( and only one !! ) is 5 / 7 meter away from restaurant, therefore during pick season , might be noisy the two inside room the phone to call reception didnot work they said normal it was not repair before the season lolllll you could go snorkelling and may be diving but not easy to manage it ....... the view from the night restaurant on the small all private rocks harbour in front is rare the hotel has also a building of apartment for rent behind 60/70 meter away their is very ugly mobile home hidden under camouflage nest , 200 meter away for workers near a wavy stone beach with an old broken cement jetty ...... the private home or villa are the most part well hidden , quite a few were burn or burst by the local m......
