We stayed for one night in the Adventure Lodge to attend the Alpine Crossing. We wanted to check in and just have a rest after we had a long drive coming from Rotorua. The checkin was very unfriendly. The guy and the woman (perhaps the owner) at the reception were very stressful. We had a few questions referring the Alpine... More

Adventure Lodge ticks all the boxes and more. Incredibly close to mount Whakapapa for snowsports, with transport to the skii lifts and Tongariro Crossing transport. Clean, comfortable, and best of all friendly. The husband and wife team running the place are absolutely wonderful, and their service is the #1 reason I'd absolutely stay at Adventure Lodge again.

We stayed there about 6 weeks after the new owners took over. It was a smoothly run operation, with check-in being a breeze. The rooms are clean, and the husband and wife team that runs is now are focused on a good visitor experience. There's a thermal tub, DVDs to watch in the evening, trips to Mount Ruapehu and the... We stayed in the Studio which was nice and spacious. Has all the basics like microwave, kettle, toaster, hair dryer etc etc. Bed was lovely and big and comfy. The heat was turned on in our room for us and it kept us very comfortable in the cold temperatures. There are various dvd's you can choose from in the reception... More

Adventure Lodge is where my partner and I choose to stay whenever we head to the skifields. We've stayed a couple of times last year and once so far this year with another stay booked in, and each time we've always had a pleasant stay. Rooms are comfortable and tidy, tasty farmhouse breakfast and pleasant hosts. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for two nights and overall experience was very good. John and Jillian were very friendly. But as advertised, the studio units do not have their own kitchen and we had to use the guest kitchen, which can be difficult in extreme weather. Overall a nice stay.

Hi there thanks for you review - the units do have their own kitchenette with microwave oven, toaster plates knives and forks etc - we dont encourage people to cook up big meals as their just isnt the space - in our guest kitchen there is big rubbish bins, and excellent cooking equipment only 20 feet away from your motel... The room was great and the staff was incredibly friendly (the manager has been here as of two weeks from this posting). But while the accommodations were great, our neighbor in the other room was up late chatting and watching TV and we could hear them quite loudly in our room. Also, the heater is not that powerful.

Nice Place to stay, very clean friendly staff lots of parking and close to the shops and bars, there is a great place to eat called the station cafe, the hot tub is nice and clean, the rooms are warm with everything you need, with good tea and coffee.
