I'm so glad we stayed at Te Tiro in Waitomo, despite being a little outside the village, this place is a gem! The night we stayed the weather was terrible but we still poked our heads out to visit their private glowworm grotto. The highlight of our stay was when Rachel invited us into her home for a drink and...

We decided to book both cabins for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it and it was hard to leave. Firstly the cabins are so cute and cosy and the bed super comfortable. Sitting out on the verandah with a cup of tea was one of the most relaxing tranquil times I spent in New Zealand. The little grotto...

This little house is a great place to stay in if you're a family of four or less! This cozy cabin has a queen sized bed and two single beds up above. It comes with a kitchen, dining table and a sense of adventure. If you like incredible views and inexpensive accommodation then you've chosen the right place!

We came across this place a the local information center and wow, I am so glad we did. The cabins are beautifully presented with a great continental breakfast provided, each have their own bathrooms and there is a little walk down a hill to their very own glow worms, however I must say the highlight for me was the stunning...

Stayed a night at Te Tiro last week and must say that this would be the most practical place to stay AND see glow worms at the same time; no need to pay any extras to see glow worms since they have the glow worms on their property. Very basic accommodation but managed to sleep just as well after a...

Sitting on the deck at sunset, you can hear cows and sheep you think to yourself, does life get much better than this?...Nope. Absolutely stunning location, amazing view, beautiful self contained little cabin, you get everything you need, including breakfast. The drive out is worth it for the isolation and absolute serenity. At night you can wander 3minutes up the...

The setting alone is worth it. Spend the night on the farm w a delicious breakfast. Hear the sheep bleat in the morning. The bed was comfortable. There is a large bed downstairs an two singles in the lift accessed by a ladder. The glow worm grotto is worth the 1-2 min walk at night. They are kind enough to...

a group of 4 of us stayed in the cabins. a little crampy for 4 pax but still acceptable. The location of the place were a little out of the way but definitely private and cosy. We first drove to the neighbour (with beautiful plantations and flowers) thinking that that was the place and was directed by the kind neighbour...

The cabins are nestled on top of a 1600-acre farm with some of the most majestic Waitomo views one could imagine. We were looking for a place away from tourist and man did we get it. Since there are only two cabins on the property privacy, tranquility, and personal service were definitely not an issue. Have you ever stayed in...

Not too much to look at but very nice and cosy place with great view. I can see sunrise without walking out of room into the cold and a great place for looking at night stars

“Te Tiro is located about 15 mins out of the town centre along a winding road - it is best to find it during daylight - the owners will give you good directions either way”

“Both cabins are the same. Be aware that they are small and the bathrooms are separate but very close by. Do not expect luxurious but come with a sense of adventure. It was difficult to take good photos of the interior of the cabins but there are good ones on the website.”
