Our family of three stayed in the train car and enjoyed it very much. It is so private and unique. It’s also surprisingly spacious. When you enter the car, you are in a long narrow sitting room with a small kitchenette at the far end containing a small fridge, a microwave, and an electric kettle. Then comes the main bedroom...

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our Waitomo Express, its always nice to hear that people have enjoyed their time at Woodlyn Park. I hope the rest of your holiday was as good.

I'm sure the novelty of sleeping in a converted plane/boat/Hobbit hole is enough for some people, but honestly for the prices this places charges I would expect at least some creature comforts. It's summer; the rooms get stuffy and hot. How about some AC. Or at the very least a fan that doesn't rattle all night so we can get...

I am really sorry you were so dissapointed in your stay with us. I also wish you had spoken to us about your issues, unfortunately as we dont stay in the units we dont get to identify things like a fan rattling, so we have to rely on customers telling us what is wrong. Yes the rooms are old, the...

We stayed in th Waitomo Express (train) and had a wonderful time. Woodlyn Park is set in very serene and peaceful farmland which made for a very relaxing stay. There was four of us that stayed in the train and it was very homely and stayed very warm during the chilly weather we experienced. The wifi is only available near...

We are so pleased you got to relax and enjoy your stay in the Waitomo Express, and yes it is nice to disconnect from technology, but also nice to know it is available and not far away.

We stayed in the "plane". Too small to fit our luggage in, shower did not empty and therefore was prone to flooding, the upper section very "buggy" and hot. Neighbours moved, the floor wobbled. No wifi. Having said all of this, it is just a remarkable experience and one we were glad we did. Well done to the creator for...

Always a remarkable experience to be able to say you have slept in a Bristol Freighter that in its past life worked in VietNam. Yes it is a small area, planes today are much bigger, but harder to sleep in!

We stayed in the train carriage for a week during our honeymoon and it was simply perfect. Clean, quiet & comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly & there when we needed anything. Really cannot recommend Woodlyn Park enough.

We loved this place! It has themed hotels: ship, plane and railway car, but we stayed in the newer Hobbit Hotel, which was fantastic. The manager of the place is super friendly and was quick to make us feel welcome. We loved the hotel and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've experienced on our New Zealand trip....

We stayed as a family of 4 in the cockpit of the Bristol plane - it was awesome! You do need to be fit enough to climb the ladder into the cockpit which is where the kids slept. It was clean, functional and we loved the experience! Something so different, yet comfortable. For those looking for something out of the...

I can now say I have stayed a night in a Hobbit Hole... another thing off my ever growing bucket list. The owners were very helpful and chatty.. even to the point we could chat about our country home and its surrounds as they had been there recently. The Hobbit Hole is very clean but there was a musty smell...

We are so pleased that we were a part of both your bucket list and your wedding anniversary. Congratulations to your husband for his choice. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the smell of the curtains, they are in keeping with being in the Hobbit, but yes being of hessian they do have an aroma.

As a LOTR fans, the reason of choosing to stay at Woodlyn Park is obvious. However, due to we have a huge group and some of the hobbit holes were already rented out, we can only have one hobbiton motel and one Waitanic Ship Captains Unit. The moment we stepped into the Captain Unit, our hearts sank. We found flies...

Unfortunately being in the rural countryside flies and flying insects are a part of life, however I must thank you for cleaning up, I realise it is not a nice thing to do on holiday, also for bringing it to our attention. As you commented the Hobbit unit had no flies, and is not very far away from the Waitainic.

We stayed in the cockpit of the plane and really enjoyed our time. The plane was nice, well furnished and clean, and it was a real excitement to sit in a real cockpit. Mattress could have been firmer, but otherwise the plane was fine. The owner was amazing and gave us plenty of useful tips for our trip, visits which...
