With a big tent and high expectations of camping experiences we're always wary when booking into 'holiday parks' in case we end up wedged in between cabins or caravans. This park advertised an entirely separate camping area for tents with individual fireplaces (that convert to BBQs) for a truly authentic camping experience and we were not disappointed. The campsites are...

This stay was a result of last minute frantic search for a good camping experience during Christmas year end break. We were just in time to get a powered camping site for a 2 nights stay. The management were helpful and accommodating for request to change the camping site from unpowered to powered after booking. They were also answering email...

Stayed here a few times and it only gets better. Cabins were older but clean and light, great balcony out the back. Beds were comfy and coffee was great! Enjoyed a swim and a walk on the beach. Owners were very accomodating. Thanks for a great weekend.

A beautiful, quiet (pre school holidays) camp ground. Very clean, tidy & large pitches. Plenty of beautiful wildlife roaming free, bird song & BBQ smells. This camp site has what it takes, clean & tidy ammenities, hot showers ($1=4mins), friendly & knowledgeable managers. A well stocked convenience shop, (ice, fire wood, fishing gear & pretty much most things you'll need....

We stayed in King Parrot cabin for friend's 60th birthday. It was very peaceful and beautiful, also close to a safe beach for swimming, fishing and kayaking. There was plenty of wildlife to watch and the café was popular.

Excellent service for a large family gathering. Clean spacious accommodation in the older cabins, great local coffee and newspapers on weekend,We had a late checkout on asking as the cabin was not booked for the following weekday. There is the lake, good for kayaking, swimming fishing small children. The beach is safest at the north end and if a southerly...

This was a great stay - close to nature and plenty of wildlife - parrots, galahs, wallabies, kangaroos, goanna. Close to other attractions where we saw seals. Great fishing. Lots of natural spots for kids to swim in. Good equipment hire for kayaking at reasonable rates. Camping rates were good and showers and bathrooms were clean and in good condition.

Our group of 4 people stayed here the October long weekend for 3 nights. Super easy check in with lovely staff. Every camp spot has its own fire place. We also bought our own portable camp stove. I just loved the super friendly Kangaroos which just lazed around the grounds. Night one we accidentally left out some sweet potato so...

We loved the caravan park - best one we have stayed in, in a long time! Felt like a bush camp but had all the amenities of a caravan park. We felt welcome and really loved our stay. Abundant wildlife and a great setting. Will definitely be back there :)

Thank you for your kind words. As we say, the fires are always warmer in winter and the forest more idyllic. That said, Spring is here now and the weather is FINE AND WARM. Amazing how it changes overnight.....

It's a fantastic place for someone who loves nature/bird watching/kangaroos. This park is surrounded by forest. Roos everywhere :) Different kinda birds and the atmosphere is perfect for a lazy/relaxing weekend, away from the hustle-bustle of a city life. Walkable distance to the beach.

Thanks for taking the time to review our park. We are fond of our Rosellas (red & blue), King Parrots (red & green) and Rainbow Lorikeets. And the Wattle Bird, whilst not so colourful, does have a lovely song. The bottlebrushes are flowering now, so everybody is having a feed. The Currawongs (yellow eyes), Magpies (red eyes) and Ravens (white...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beach, Bush, and Lake, are all just a short stroll away. The park is in sheltered bushland with the Murramarang National Park on three sides. The top of our park has nostalgic-rustic cottages (2br) and standard park cabins (1br) plus a luxury van for couples. The bushland camping ground has spacious, individually crafted sites for the biggest tents and vans; and is popular with overseas visitors looking for a real Aussie camping experience. All accommodation have a wood-fired BBQ, which doubles as an open fireplace when the lid is put up. ... Wildlife: visiting through the park are kangaroos, wallabies, possums, bandicoots, and goannas. Birds: three spectacular birds abound; green & red King Parrots, red & blue Rosellas, and multi-coloured Rainbow Lorikeets. Shore birds and majestic pelicans can be found down at the lake. Activities: birdwatching, boating, bushwalking, fishing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and wading in the shallows for the little ones. ... The park has a general store with regional specialities and a cafe serving coffee from locally roasted beans. Batemans Bay is 20 minutes away for town things, including a cinema for that third rainy day. ... more   less
