The hotel has a great location. Right in front of the abbey. Rooms are nice but there were bugs and mosquitos were a nightmare. The hot water didn't work, even when the maintenance team went to fix it. We had warm water for 3 minutes. Rates are a little higher than average but definitely is not worthy.

This is a beautiful small hotel with perfect location to the central core of Izamal. Breakfast was delicious and the pool is very nice. We liked everything about our inexpensive stay. The staff was very helpfully even though we arrived very late.

We enjoyed this hotel. It was very comfortable, cozy and clean. All of the staff from housekeeping & Maintence on thru to the desk and restaurnt staff took time to say hello to us when they saw us. The location is on the street that goes around the convent so you see it from the terrace. The pool area was quiet and usually no ne rise in it, or just a couple. We enjoyed the breakfasts that were available to buy. The staff was knowledgable about the area and even the combi & bus schedule. We went July 23 so it WAS blistering hot, next time I'll choose Nov - March to go back again..... We walked almost everywhere, Kinich Kakmó is about 5 blocks & Kinich Restaurnt about the same. Taxi's are in park, just around the corner from Hotel and we only paid 20 pesos to go to Cannon Park, we walked back but too hot to walk there. The horse drawn carriages are readily available & they do well at giving a tour in Spanish. This seems to be a tourist town, but tourists from all over Mexico, we saw one European family & one Canadian or us couple... There is a ADO (Centro ) bus station right in the center of town off the mercado and it's about 2 hours back to Merida. Buses or axis leave in all directions from there. You can also do collectivo transit and that is only 1 hour to Merida but limited on times. Know one leaves at 4 pm, not sure if there might be a 6 or 8 am one but none thru the day. This would be a simple drive for anyone with a car

We got to Izamal just after noon and stopped into the hotel to see where we should park as it is all street parking. Ricardo was awesome. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and get us whatever we needed. Our room was ready so he let us check in. He also moved some cones and had us park directly in front of the hotel near security cameras. We had room 3 on the side. Very quiet, very pretty room with a fridge. Pool was delightful. There is a 3rd floor terrace that we enjoyed people watching while having a beer. There is breakfast available in the morning outside under a thatched roof. perfect! We walked everywhere. Izamal is a very vibrant and yellow town. Wish I had booked for a couple of nights

We are settling in for our last night at Rinconada De Convention Hotel. We have had a pleasant stay and found the staff friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The rooms have a/c and fan which is great for the 35° weather. Beds are comfortable with good linen, towels and bath mats all good. The breakfast served at the outside palapa has a good selection and is reasonably priced. They have a pool which is great for the afternoon cool down. It is situated on the back corner of the church which makes everything a comfortable walking distance. We found Izamal a friendly interesting town and enjoyed our three days here.
