We had an amazing week here. Clean and nice bungalow, good location and the best staff. We even extended our stay with four more nights!! Also because of the best staff members Tony & Gairo. Thank you guys for everything. Your are the best and when we come back to Holbox, we hope you guys will be there again.
Do not waste your time and money booking the non- existent camping they claim to provide here! After booking 2 beds in a tent for 377pesos (£15) (a fair price, but NOT a steal) we were outraged to find that tents do not exist! And actually when you pay £15 you are booking for 1 person to bring their own tent and put it up in the garden - NO equipment included. The gentlemen who ‘claimed’ to be the manager offered no apology or solution. Instead being incredibly rude and insisting that we paid 479pesos for 2 hammocks! He did offer to put up his own tent for us and we could share a sofa cushion to sleep on... BE CARFUL HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL THE STAFF WILL BE RUDE, OBNOXIOUS AND BLAME YOU! THEY ARE MONEY GRABBING AND THINK ALL TOURISTS ARE MADE OF MONEY
My family and I visited this hotel in mid December. This hotel look very good, the small cabanas are cute and beautiful. We had a big suite that was very comfortable.... the only problem was the mosquitoes it was actually a big problem. During the night we could hear the ZZZZZZ of the mosquitoes in our ears. After eventually the staff installed some things to protect from mosquitoes. The staff was pretty kind. The two small cats that live there are very cute and like to be petted ( except the male ).We had a bad weather but we stilled loved the island. Gody
Overall pretty disappointing. Cabana room generally pretty dark and cramped. No AC or functional fan. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Wifi didn’t work for most of our stay and 4G around the grounds is bad.. Lots of noise and music from hostel until midnight. Mosquitos everywhere due to stagnant water around the grounds. Reception pretty disinterested and unhelpful. Owners seem money grabbing - charged me full price one night I didn’t stay and doubled their room prices for ‘peak season, which made it exceptionally bad value compared to other offerings. In the end moved to an AiRBnB which was 2x cheaper and much nicer. Go elsewhere if you can.
Would totally recommend you to stay here. Toni took a good time to check us in and explain everything about hostel, breakfast and tours. I stayed in a double with bathroom which was big and cleaned every day. The location is just beautiful with some friendly cats around. Good vibes!!
We’d plannen to stay 3 nights, became 2. Not for the place or the people, but for our own reasons. The place is nice, clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We didn’t book the breakfast and if you plan morning trips it’s commonly included in the trip. We had a cabana with fan, but A/C would have been better. It was our second day Mexico, and not yet adapted to the hot nights. The place is at a nice location from the centre, 5min walk and 1 min walk from the beach.
I purchased 2 nights of 'Tent' through AirBnB. I introduced myself (how AirBnB does) only to receive a message saying no tent or supplies were part of my purchase--this was not made clear in any of the 7 tenting posting on AirBnB. I replied asking for a full refund given I was not about to purchase/pack a tent for 2 nights of my entire vacation. I also gave them a reminder that it would be helpful to update their advertising to include 'Tenting SPACE/PAD' not 'Tent' for sale (they have since updated their advertising). I was always professional and polite and even mentioned wanting to stay there in the future. Initially, Jairo replied and he was polite and offering other options for additional costs. Then Tony replied with such a rude reply which lead me to post this 'terrible' review. I was denied any refund, but that is besides the point--business ethics and a poor attitude towards customers are the issues here. It is unfortunate that Tony's said what he did because I would have enjoyed camping there someday as the hostel itself looks colorful and welcoming!…
While being my first time to Isle Holbox not knowing what to expect. I decided on these Cabanas Ida Y Vuelta I was pleasantly surprised a Diamond in the Rough. I try often to find something different not a Big All- Inclusive. The Cabanas were charming and relaxing and the grounds well manicured. Without breaking the bank. Tony who oversees the Cabanas was welcoming and the rest of his staff was also! Now let's get to the Breakfast we were offered included in our room, it was some of the best I have eaten in all of my 35 years traveling to Mexico. They had a breakfast cake every morning along with different breakfast sandwiches the presentation was beautiful and you couldn't wait till the next day see what was offered. The Chef & Baker were talented beyond! Now if you're a backpacker or someone that just wanted a reasonable accommodations you can't go wrong we met people from all over the world a smorgasbord of people I would say, from Young to Old! So hope to see you again and Thank You for the experience! Alicia Wessel- Womack Sunscapes Travel …
There are so many good things about this place. My girlfriend and I had a private bungalow, which was not too expensive for Holbox, with a beautiful interior design and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great, too, as the hostel is not far from the city center (and thereby quiet) and close to the beach. In our opinion, the beach are at the hostel and in the west (away from the city center) are more beautiful than the places close to the center. Highly recommendable place!
The area of the hostel is very nice and the decoration including lightning is warm & creates an inviting atmosphere. There are hammocks in the common area and a kitchen with specific opening hours (didn’t use it). We were in a dorm of 4 or 5, it was relaxed. Wifi was more less than satisfying. The ensuite bathroom with 2 showers & 1 toilet was clean, showers w good pressure. No A/C, but was’nt necessary. Location: 12-15min walk from the ferry, 3-5min to the beach, 6-8min to the main square. Luckily we didn’t have that many mosquitos. But in general bring or buy bug repellent for this island. Overall, good value for Holbox.
