This island is beautiful. Tribu is a lovely hostel, the private rooms are great and well worth the price. Kitchen was clean and tidy always with free water. The hostel is beautiful. I can definitely understand why this is recommended in the Guardian. One of the best hostels we stayed in our 5 month trip of central and South America.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Tribu for 5 nights and loved it. It was busy and loud at times, but we didn’t mind. Most of the other travelers were in our age group, so it was nice to get to know them a bit. We booked our whale shark tour through the hostel and it was perfect – there... More

The rooms and showers were substantial, but we were there for 2 nights and the bar was closed both nights due to understaffing. We were attracted by the 'cinema' advertised online, but when we went to watch a film we discovered that this has been converted into another dorm. They relied heavily on volunteers staying there without proper management. A... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights in a dorm with AC. Very clean and well kept bathrooms and showers. Amazing location, a block from the beach and a 10min walk from the harbour. The kitchen was well equipped, good knives. Beautiful hostel, super colourful hammocks and chill out areas everywhere. Sweet bar with lit candles at night. Very... More

A great hostel, staff were so friendly and offered lots of information on places to eat and bars as well as good beaches. Their map was amazing, one of the best hostels I have been to. The Wifi is good in the hammock area and they have daily activities or tours. Just remember to get your water out the fridge... More

Been traveling for two weeks and this was the best hostel we've stayed yet. The receptionist are very nice and helpful. The facilities are awesome with great decoration and attention to detail. Right next to the beach and a bar and activities to socialize. Thanks!!!

I paid for a private room, it was nice and clean w a private bathroom.. which I love especially when it's really hot. There's no A/C but you do get a ceiling fan.. the only issue since it's an island, and everyone is trying to stay cool, they often lose power.. The first night, they lost if for quite a... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, on both nights the power went out meaning not only no light or fan/ac there was no water for showers or flushing toilets!! The hostel is WAY overpriced! We paid 40 dollars for a basic room with a bathroom and fan whilst our friends found a place down the road with ac and a tv... More

Thankyou for writing you feedback on Tribu hostel. We are glad that you enjoyed the free activities that we provide for guests at Tribu every day! Reception is open from 8am-8pm which is normally early enough to see off our tours. The start time of the whale shark tour is dependant on the weather so we apologise that in your... More

Checked in ok, staff were friendly. Room was basic and clean, fan worked well and shower had warm water. The pub quiz was good fun and the hostel runs plenty of activities. The wifi was terrible and even when it said I had full signal nothing would load, not ideal when trying to book our next destination. Both nights we... More

They are extremely warm and had uncomfortable beds. We changed rooms to a private which was much better. Staff was friendly but not well informed about the island. Wifi was a network barely with Internet, could almost read my mail but not anything more. Kitchen large but was short on spices/oil, all hostels we've been at before have had that.
