We were well taken care of but also left in peace! Perfecto! A beautiful location away from the center but an easy jaunt down the beach to get to town and restaurants. The beach was awesome and the staff made sure our questions were answered and that we were able to do everything we wanted. I woukd go back in... More

We have just returned from this very cool small boutique hotel on an incredible old-Mexico feel island! We were well taken care of by both Julio and Loupe at the hotel. They are definitely priceless assets to this establishment! Anytime we needed help or information these two gentlemen stepped up. Can't really say enough about them! Now on to the... More

Fantastic location, really special spot, quiet, surrounded by mangroves swamp, private beach (sort of, public has access but no one goes). Caution: Don't take a trip to Isla Holbox is whale shark tours are your priority - check beforehand whether tours are running as they weren't whilst we were there. Isla Holbox can be compared to Caye Caulker 10years ago,... More

We had an excellent stay! The rooms exceeded expectations- super clean but also very relaxing, large and nicely laid out. Breakfast was perfectly done, not too large but fresh and delicious. The hotel owner was extremely accommodating, even making phone calls on our behalf since our American cell phones didn't work in Mexico. The location is slightly further from the... More

This review is a few months in the making. My wife and I went there on part two of our honeymoon. We stayed in the "Penthouse" for 8 nights. The location of the hotel is quite excellent. Close enough to town where one can easily walk and far enough that it is not always so crowded. The breakfast is simple... More

Great place surrounded by nature and peaceful beach. Stay at Cabaña Luna, it's in front of the beach! Great management and staff. For sure we will come back next summer! The hotel is located 10 minutes from downtown and the busiest area of Holbox hotels.

For the first time in many years, I was able to disconnected for two weeks, in place where I was in sync with nature, people, art and artful living, I was inspired and is ready for my next project! Casa Takywara sits in the clusters of the wetlands of natural raw beauty, yet steps away from super white sandy calm... More

We had a great and relaxing experience at Casa Takywara! The breakfast served at the door at 9 am in a basket was perfect. We would just take the basket and enjoy it watching the sea. Service is discreet and efficient, very kind and helpful. The room was beautiful, well equipped and comfortable, with a hammock, a nice bathroom and... More

Best place to stay ! I noticed that Casa Takywara is a bit farther from the downtown area, but in reality that's a good thing because you'll have the whole beach to yourself. Not one day did I see anyone else in the beach besides us. Felt very relaxing ! I also noticed that the beach was one of the... More

This lovely bungalow is a labor of love, and it shows. Takywara is built around preserving the ecology and celebrating the art of Holbox. From the dried leaf which holds your internet password, to the handmade paper welcome & policies booklet on the bed table and the seashells which hide outdoor lighting, the creators of this home have worked hard...
