Stayed 2 nights with our 2 children (3&6) and loved every moment. Hospitable and friendly hosts, beautiful property and the loft room was perfect for our young family. With our own private bathroom (amazing tub!), child beds and a king made from clouds and baby goose feathers, we were in no rush to leave. Highly recommended for a week or... More

We loved this beautiful old farmhouse that has been completely updated in a very pretty, relaxed style. Our room, with a 4-poster bed, was beautiful with south-facing windows that let in light and a wonderful breeze at night. It was lovely to wake up in the morning to sound of birds singing. Our hosts, Carrie and Malcolm, were friendly and... More

Carrie and Malcolm were the best of hosts. My flight had been delayed and I was late to arrive for my stay, Malcolm was very accomodating and insured I arrived and got settled into my room. I was in the area for a trade show in Summerside and all the hotels were booked up. I'm so glad I made the... More

Carrie and Malcolm operate an amazing B&B! The must be some of the nicest people in all of Prince Edward Island! My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights of our 10 day trip to the east coast, and couldn't be happier. We felt very comfortable and well taken care of. They definitely go above and beyond to ensure... More

We took an east coast trip, but did not allow enough time to see Prince Edward Island. Briarcliffe Inn was conveniently close to the bridge and the middle of the island. Carrie was very helpful in planning our time on the island with locations to see and places to eat. We stayed in the Sudbury room and found the furniture... More

Carrie and Malcolm, the new owners, are warm and welcoming and will make you feel at home. The location is absolutely lovely, and a nice walk away is the Seacow Head lighthouse, starring as Gus's lighthouse in the long shots in Road to Avonlea. This was one of my best stays during my trip to PEI, and by far the... More

My wife and I stayed here in July 2014 and it was a great time. The house itself was very nice to stay in and the Anderson suite was a relaxing and quiet part of the house with a lovely view in multiple directions. The location was a bit out of the way, but that was just what we were... More

We had no reservations, but the information center was able to book us in this delightful B&B for 3 nights. Although the room was small, there was an ensuite washroom and the bed was extremely comfortable. We stayed in the Laerd room which overlooked the well landscaped backyard - a very peaceful view. The breakfasts were good, cooked by Carrie... More

We stayed here for 5 nights for our stay in PEI. When we planned out trip, we were told you can stay at 1 place and still see the whole province. That probably might be true but for a relaxing holiday where you slowly wake up and rest a bit after breakfast, this wasn't the case for us. Although we... More

As we enter our second summer season as owners of the Briarcliffe Inn, we wanted to say thank you for your supportive review. This was our first B&B experience with our two teenage granddaughters, and Carrie and Malcolm could not have been more flexible and accommodating. The nearby bay and the resident pigs were both big attractions. The Anderson suite is well suited to families with young children, and the large bathtub was a treat! Just a lovely, tranquil place to stay.

The Briarcliffe Inn is a lovingly restored century farmhouse in the heart of rural Prince Edward Island. We are situated on 3 acres of property close to working farms and a red sand beach. Things to do in the area: take a short 5 minute walk to Salutation Cove to explore the tide pools or go for a swim; picnic at the historic Seacow Head Lighthouse; help feed our delightful free-range pigs; sample island jams & honeys and teas at breakfast; watch the magnificent Maritime sunsets from our deck; visit the Lower Bedeque Schoolhouse where Lucy Maud Montgomery taught or the Central Bedeque Museum.
