Really enjoyed my stay. I had a nice bungalow room surrounded by lush gardens. Staff were friendly and the food was excellent. I also did a few hikes with a guide that they provided and had an amazing experience.

Hibiscus Valley Inn is located right on the main road within an easy commute to the main airport on Dominica. But even though you're on the main road when you're staying in the guest rooms you will feel a million miles away in your own jungle retreat. Don't be surprised if you are greeted by one of the three resident hotel dogs, they're the first of many smiling faces you will meet. The landscaping and layout is absolutely beautiful while the rooms are cozy and clean. In the main guest rooms it's kind of a duplex scenario where you'll have a little path to your room and only one neighbor. We were in a two bedroom suite with a private bathroom and hot hot hot water, which was perfect after our long days of hiking and touring around the northern part of the island. The hotel staff will make you feel like family and definitely keep you on your toes with jokes and smiles. The on-site restaurant can't be beat. It's more family style dining and you get what's on the menu for the night but you will never be disappointed. There's always a vegetarian option as well as whatever the catch or meal of the day is. But be careful at the bar because the homemade rum punch is as strong as it is good! If you have a free day or if you're traveling on the fly, Hibiscus Valley Inn is the full package. They can provide you with tours and guides for whatever you might want to do on the island at the drop of a hat. On the hotel premises, you can jump in a tube and float down the river to the Atlantic Ocean, or take a quick drive to one of the few beaches on the Atlantic side where you can swim. They're also within easy drive to the replica Kilanago Village, where you can take a tour and learn about the culture of the native people of the island. Afterwards you can purchase local-made baskets and gifts that can't be beat anywhere else on the island... Trust me we looked! 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone adventurous enough to travel to Dominica.

Me and a friend were coming to Hibiscus Valley Inn after having been picked up in Roseau. A long and winding road trip across the beautiful green nature island. You don't have to come by plane to the nearby airport. You may come by ferry from one of the nearby islands, in our case Martinique. The resort with its bungalows can hardly be seen from the road because of the many plants and flowers. We were staying in one of the bungalows that had a veranda with a hammock to relax in. During our short stay we were able to swim by Jacko waterfall, take a ride on the calm Indian River from Portsmouth and go river tubing next to the premises, which was a lot of fun thanks to Kai, who took good care of us. We also went for a night out at a local karaoke bar. During our stay we enjoyed breakfasts served by Rita and dinners made by superman Nigel! Of course we also tried the rum punches in the bar. I think most things have been said about this place. The owner Norun, who spends all of her time trying to accomodate all her guests, makes sure you feel at home and comfortable together with her staff and different family members who come and go. She is constantly planning changes for the better. What I liked a lot too is that Hibiscus Valley Inn is just the right size with its 12 rooms, meaning that you can meet other travellers from different parts of the world in a very natural and friendly atmosphere. You can enjoy a meal together or hang out and talk about your adventures and experiences. Or you can make excursions together. I don´t think you could feel alone there even if you were alone. I recommend Hibiscus Valley Inn to couples, families, friends and solo people all the same. Thank you!!!

What a memorable trip. Nigel picked us up at at the airport, we all squeezed into the van with our can-do attitude and the other guests and our luggage to start our Dominican adventure. We weren't looking for sand and drinks but a real local look-see. Thanks to Nigel, Nora, Rita, Sam, Kai,Happy & Scotty (& others) we felt so at home. With Typical Island friendliness, and a flexible morning schedule we meandered from river rafting to bathing in the many Island waterfalls. Hiking through the jungle with Agnus (Kalinago guide) to eat a riverside stew after slipping, sliding and laughing our way through the muddy trail. Everyday looking forward to Nigel's fabulous world class meals (while catering to our veggie daughter too) then winding down each evening with our card games in the cozy lobby. Our bungalows worked fine for us, with cool hammocks out front for daytime hanging around. Happy & Scotty our constant companions unless they were being fed by Nora. Impressive was Nora's ability to be flexible and work with our travel agent to take care of us without involving us. We were there to smile and enjoy. We were so happy to find a new friend there as well. Thank you Lynn for becoming part of our family for a few days. Hope to see you sometime in New York, Montreal or Brussels.
