We spent several days at Pagua Bay and truly loved it. Our villa was beautiful. We took advantage of participating in many of the activities offered including hikes, diving and yoga. The guides were amazing, Nancy the yoga teacher was also amazing. The best part was that while participating we got to spend time with other guests and made some great friends.
Incredible boutique hotel, incredible island! We stayed a week at Pagua Bay cabana 4, and it was perfect. It's the perfect balance of casual comfort we were looking for. Everything is clean and spacious. Furnishings are simple and comfortable. The restaurant and pool are a great place to relax as well. We were able to see whales breaching from our table the first day. A great way to start things off. They serve a good variety of food in the restaurant, and everything is good. Variety is difficult to find in Dominica restaurants, so it's nice to be able to come back to Pagua Bay House and have those options. The goat pasta and the Pagua Bay skillet were standouts for me, but everything we tried was good. The people are amazing. From the security, grounds keepers, cleaners, the restaurant workers, to owners, everyone was friendly and helpful. Rick and Alicia are very well connected throughout the island. Alicia can handle all of your reservations if you would like, and she provides great recommendations and advice to help you make the most of your stay on this incredible island. By all means, explore this island! It was difficult to decide where we were going to stay. We had things we wanted to see all over the island. We were happy with are choice to stay in Marigot. We felt like it was somewhat centrally located. You definitely want to rent a car though. And be prepared for windy roads. I kind of like adventurous driving experiences, so the drives were okay for me. If you are a timid driver, your experience might be a bit different. We like independent travel and the freedom to explore on our own timeline. We dived down in Soufriere one day, so we chose to stay down there 2 nights to avoid a 1.5 hour drive bay to Pagua Bay. We could have made the drive, but I think this made our experience a lot more relaxing. Other than that, Pagua Bay was a great base. Easy drive up to the unbelievable Batibou Beach (must see!). It's a bit longer of a drive to Extreme Dominca for canyoning and waterfall repelling (must do!). Chaudiere Pools was also a great experience relatively close to Pagua Bay. They provided towels, a cooler and beach chairs to help us make the most of our exploring. Alicia also has a great sense of island time challenges, and called ahead to places to make sure everything would go smoothly for us. If you are considering Dominica, Pagua Bay House is a great choice, and the island is unbelievable!…
Fabulous place and amazing hosts. The cabana we stayed in was spacious and extremely luxurious. The bath was absolutely a game changer for us in Dominica! The food was some of the best we had for our whole stay in Dominica. All of the staff were extremely kind and accommodating. The hosts Alicia and Rick were unbelievably amazing. Nothing was too much. Extremely attentive and able to help with anything and everything they could. Often going far above and beyond to help and ensure the rest of our stay in Dominica was amazing - going so far as to call other hosts in different areas we wanted to see and ensuring we had a great stay. I really could not recommend this place enough. Oh, and not to mention watching whales breaching whilst sat eating breakfast! A truly wonderful stay with truly wonderful people and the view was just amazing.…
I arrived at Pagua bay in the night, and although I was immediately aware of the peaceful Ambiance and the presence of something special. I glanced up in the soft lighting noticing the walls and the villas and the shadows. Ian from the Security Team reached out to me and said, you are in Room 1. and the right hand side. I was relieved as I understood that the lobby was at the top of the stairs. I was a given the room keys with the largest key holder ever !!! and I was well greeted by the team at the restaurant where I registered and get some food and a drink of potent and delicious Dominica cask Rum. The next Morning I was greeted by a fabulous Sunrise and the beautiful soundtrack of angry waves crashing on the shores. The property is beautiful . Alisia and her team are great hosts and the meals were memorable. I am definately returning…
Pagua Bay House is the only vacation spot I've ever made a point of returning to and my last visit reminded me why. Rick and Alicia are so incredibly friendly and helpful I can't say enough nice things about them. The view from cabana 5 is so breathtaking it looks like it's out of a Hollywood movie. If you go make sure to arrange a float down the river, it's so relaxing and beautiful you won't want it to end. Much thanks for another amazing stay!
I cannot sing my praises about Pagua Bay highly enough! It is an absolutely stunning eco resort, with extremely comfortable accommodations in open, airy rooms. The rain shower is heavenly, and sleeping to the sound of waves crashing gave our family the best night of sleep we have had in ages. Rick and Alicia are the most gracious hosts, going above and beyond what would ever be expected- helping to coordinate every little detail and helping us navigate around an island that was new to us. The restaurant had delicious food and the cocktails were fantastic! The resort is conveniently located right near the airport which is a very nice perk after a long day of travel. Please do yourself a favor- book with Pagua Bay for your trip to Dominica- our family has traveled around the world- and we wouldn't hesitate to return here again and again. Thank you Rick and Alicia- we are eternally grateful!!…
I stayed for business, but it’s hard not to experience a quite a bit of pleasure at Pagua Bay House. The owners themselves make you feel appreciated and welcome. You might even find them checking in with guests to ensure a high degree of quality is experienced throughout your stay. For business (or pleasure), I found the WiFi of excellent quality and reliability to meet my need. The property has resources to assist you in arranging transportation needs. The staff ensured I was able to get a fantastic meal (be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner), and even managed to force me to relax after a long work day! The facilities were lovingly and carefully maintained. The grounds were beautiful. The rooms were everything you would want of an island paradise accommodation. The rooms were spacious and promoted relaxation. You can find a lovely hammock for a good rest. The connection to Dominica’s spirit is what I enjoyed most about staying here. The secluded feel, coupled with the staff’s care and attention made it one of the most pleasurable stays I’ve experienced in many years of international travel. If you ask a question - you can expect a thoughtful answer and honest attention from the people of Pagua Bay House. Highly recommend you ask them to arrange your tour of Spanny Falls with a float on the local river! If you catch the owners about the property, ask them to show you the herbs that grow on property! There is nothing like taking in the scent of fresh herbs while hearing the Atlantic waves hit the shores.…
Owners Alicia & Rick have created an oasis on an enchanted island. Pagua Bay is absolutely stunning, and when you stay in one of their cabanas you have a front row view! The main house, stars a fantastic restaurant and bar, friendly staff and open air/poolside seating. The accommodations are well appointed and each one is unique. We stayed in Cabana 6 with the huge soaking tub and separate rain shower which is absolutely delightful. Our two older teens stayed in Cabana 5 with a private pool! I can’t say enough about the hospitality and friendliness we found at Pagua Bay House, we are already planning our return trip!
Pagua Bay House is a great place to be introduced or re-introduced to Dominica. Located a convenient distance from the Airport, its modern, comfortable, spacious rooms are a perfect Oasis after a long day of travel. We stayed in Cabana 4 and greatly enjoyed sipping a drink on our private patio at the end of the day or taking a nap in the hammock. Our very large room featured a comfortable King size bed, a huge bathroom with walk-in shower and a changing room/closet. WiFi was reliable and fast and there was a good sized work station where I could take care of last minute business. There was also a small refrigerator, convenient for drinks when we were too lazy to walk to the bar. The on-site restaurant was a real treat, with lots of organic produce sourced from their own green house, homemade bread, yogurt and jam that was incredible. Their menu was pretty comprehensive, offering a lot of choices and everything we tried was very good. The hosts, Alicia and Rick, are foodies and it shows. The best part of Pagua Bay House are the hosts, Rick and Alicia and their staff. They are an incredible resource for things to do on the island and will help arrange things for you from tour guides, rental cars, lunch reservations and hiking suggestions. They clearly love the island and want you to love it too. We arrived as guests and left as family. We cant wait to return and share this special place with our friends.…
We were brand new to Dominica, and I can't imagine a better place for getting our feet than Pagua Bay House. The property is just a 10-15 drive from the airport which is wonderful after a day of travel. We were put in Cabana 4, which is a lovely spacious room with large open windows, a large bathroom, plenty of hot water, and a walk-in closet. Don't be afraid as we were at first to keep your windows wide-open to the ocean breezes. We couldn't get over how few bugs there are on the island! One of the big advantages to Pagua Bay is the restaurant located on the property. My husband and I were none too anxious to drive on the Dominican roads after dark, and the restaurant made it very easy to have delicious meals right on the spot with a beautiful view of the ocean. One of the best parts of the place, without a doubt, is the owners, Alicia and Rick. They obviously love the island they've made home and set out to make everyone's experience a positive one. When we first met Alicia at breakfast, we had yet to make heads or tails of how to attack the list of sites we thought we might want to visit. She quickly mapped out the day for us and continued to do so even after we left to stay elsewhere on the island. I know without a doubt our vacation was greatly enhanced by Rick's and Alicia's guidance as to where to go, what to see, and where to eat.…
