Detailed Reviews
We had some wonderfull days in Vinales November 2017. Vinales is a small town, and La Cabana El Rubio is just 500 m from "center", a short walk, and in a quiet place.
The room was a small apartment with 2 rooms: bedroom and Kitchen/Bar+ bathroom.
rood breakfast and a roof patio. cabanaelrubio @ nauta.cu
I am not sure that the general hotel questions applies to Cuba Hostals ..... there was no boutique in the lobby , nor a front desk :-)

We visisted Vinales at end of December 2018. Great Location to explore the valley. Very quiet at cul-de-sac road. The roof terrace invites for relaxing and chilling. Very kind people giving assistance for onward travel in Cuba.

We were lucky enough to enjoy the hospitality of Rubio and his wife for three days. We were very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good location for town. Lovely rooms and warm hosts.
Sadly our lack of Spanish meant we were not able to fully take advantage of their local knowledge however they made us feel very welcome. Thanks guys.

We stayed at the Rubio’s and his family. They are very nice people, especially the Rubio who is a great story teller! He walked us to a nice restaurant one evening.
The house/site is beautiful and colorful, with a great rooftop that has a wonderful view over the roofs and valley. Watch the sunset there or read your book early morning. The rooms are very basic in terms of luxury. The furniture was built by the Rubio himself and that adds charm to the place.
The breakfast was decent, but we’ve had much better and fuller breakfasts in other casas.
The house is about 10 mins away from the downtown area, so very easy to go out and come home.

Situated a few minutes walk from Vinales, this place is ideal. The rooms are all clean and comfortable, there is a balcony for "sun downers" with great views of the Mogotes. The owners are just great people, and take a considerable amount of time to ensure that your stay is the best it could be - from organising horse riding to finding that "perfect" taxi to suit your motion sick wife!! Thank you!!

It was a big surprise for us!
First of all your hospitality, your kindness, the rich and delicious breakfast, the colors of the house, the view from the top of the building.
The good location, it was just 5 minutes walk from the central.
Thanks a lot & we wish the best to you!
The girls from Hungary 😃

The owner of our casa particular in Habana recommended us, this stay for Vinales.
It is 5 min walking from the center of Vinales. The family there offers breakfast and tours through the national park. The rooms and the house are really nice, even if the decoration of the rooms is alittle bit special and not the favourite of my girlfriend :)
But everything is clean, the bed is comfortable, you have small garden and terrace where you can relax. Our room even had a big dinning room, with fridge, table and 4 chairs and a bar.
I just can recommend this casa particular, also because of the very friendly host family.

We were welcomed warmly by our hosts and made to feel right at home. They were friendly and patient with my terrible Spanish. The rooms are tidy, quiet, and separate from the home. There is a covered patio as well as a roof terrace for relaxation and a view. Breakfast was great. Location is easy walking distance to center of the small town. They helped us to arrange for a horse back ride in the valley (also included cave tour and talk about the coffee industry), as well as our next taxi out of town.

We’d arrived on our touring bikes with no prior booking and a fully booked village. Rubio's casa was suddenly made available, so we were taken there by locals who had heard he had room.
Rubio is a retired carpenter who lives with his friendly, charming family, five minutes’ walk from the town centre. He has a small workshop on site and is a keen DIY enthusiast.
If you want to experience rural home life, you cannot ask for more. Rubio knows all the locals and can assist with any questions or point you in the right direction for local excursions. I’d recommend the horse riding to the tobacco fields but also the private trip to the beach. The accommodation is basic but very clean and comfortable. There is a fan and warm shower water. Our room had a porch and two homemade rocking chairs built by Rubio.
His wife is an excellent cook and you will be fed very well. As I write this review, memories bring a smile to my face because it is one of our fondest memories of any trip or holiday we have ever experienced. There is a true sense of warmth and love from Rubio and his family and they appear to deeply care about making your trip comfortable, enjoyable and memorable. Your presence appears to be as much of an experience for them as it does you.
I’m glad Rubio’s casa has made it on to trip advisor because it deserves to be busy and he deserves the visitors/business. Has an excellent sense of humour, although our Spanish is very limited, we spent much of our time with Rubio and his family jesting.
Mel and I wish Rubio and his family all the best for the future.
